Why don't you add a reversed float valve in your filter barrel? That would avoid running it dry 😙🎶

You need a riser pipe on that Black 3 inch pipe with holes in it similar to what we Farmers have for certain applications as the leaves pack around it he goes to the upper hose in this case the leaves will just I don't know load over the Levee. But ultimately your pipe will not clog up

Maybe try to build a small coander sieve, it's not clogging, self-cleaning.

How about a camera up there? Or at least some sensors

Joe, if you take stainless steel hardware cloth, 24 inch by 11 inch. Use stainless steel wire to tie it into a cylinder. Slide that over your drain pipe and cap the top. The surface area will allow you to not have to clean out as often. Think of it as a strainer on steroids.

Put a high wire cage (50cm) around the area of the pipe to stop the leaves falling on the filter!!

Hey man,if you make a tube from a towel, and let the water flow through it, when measuring flow, it will be easier, it will drop the pressure after the nozzle, so the bu ket doesn't fly, and you don't get wet, still giving the same flow, it just makes it more manageable,

Well, that is a lot of water so far but how consistent will it flow between rains. I guess you may be able to design for base load and surge loads... If you have prolonged flows of higher volumes. Interesting development.

At the nozzle, the potential energy of the water is transformed into kinetic energy. There is no pressure available anymore since the water is now in free air. What is going to power your turbine is the mass and velocity of the water.

Could you measure the flow by using a wind vein type thing (I don't know the technical name for it) to measure the speed of the water then use math to figure it out?

Good thing that you can always run just a second pipe up the hill and fetch some more water in the future. Maybe get better a 3 kW 3 phase motor 😋

Buddy - I still watch every video and click "Like" on every one - BUT........ when I found your channel originally it was like heres my stream, next video, heres my flume, next, heres my wheel, then heres my generator, heres improvements, etc - I swear now it's like here's my garage I'm tearing down, here's me cutting a tree, digging a ditch (for nothing to do with Hydro power) heres a quick teaser building a brick pit, and then a zillion videos with you playing with a water hose........?????!!!!!!
