More women may be psychopaths - this is good, sort of! 

I've known this for years, just through observation and lived experience. The "women are wonderful" bias has blinded society for centuries.

The thing I find really funny (sad) about this is the level of ferocity that the narrative, that psychopathy in women is rare, is pushed academically. Showing that psychopathy is just as prevalent in women as it is in men destroys the angelic, all loving, all nurturing narrative that many laws are (and social beliefs) are predicated on. I noticed this when I started learning about female murderers, most notably Karla Homolka. Psychoanalysts deemed Karla to NOT BE PSYCHOPATHIC because it would have given her a harsher sentence. This further burried the danger of these people and passed the threat onto an unsuspecting society. It would be a relief if this was more openly studied as it would show a change in the ethos towards female infallibility and infinite benevolence; fostering a culture of truth instead of a culture of cover-ups

The male gaze is noted widely, The young female gaze would be a whole new self centred perception, underminding , gaslighting tactics once revealed would be alarming.

Cluster b women have been categorized as bpd. It's been known for awhile. Disordered women will use whatever social dynamics they can. They're manipulative and very, very subtle about it.

Our family has been dealing with a female Psychopath for years, she has stopped my childrens father from having any contact, with them,and now my grandchildren can’t even meet him. It’s been mainly through Coercive Control that she has managed to keep my ex from having a relationship with his kids. It’s devastating for them, heart- breaking 💔 to say the least, but of course they know, the Psychopath knows exactly what they are doing, for they are Sadistic, and dangerous. Thank You again, I feel there is a huge gender bias, and that has been the problem for far to long,saying only men Coercively Control etc this definitely is not true, there are lots of men left without help because of this mistake. The family realising the danger, to the loved one doesn’t know how help him, with app’s these days that can be be used on mobile phones to track a person in this sort of relationship they are virtually a hostage, sad but true. I used to take my older cousin to her appointments every 3 months for several years. The only time I saw any males, were like myself in the waiting room! The irony of all this is all the front desk workers are always female and most of the doctors too.

I believe it mostly has to do with men's tendency not to complain about being victims. It's a stigma to admit to being weak and under control of a woman. At least, this is what I've noticed. Also, in general, men don't talk and express feelings as much as we do.

They're a vigilant sort. They give it away when after a drink they tell you that they think you're a stalker when you're just not the type.

One of the signs of a functional society is that it does not allow psychopaths into high political office.

In academic circles it is a generally known fact that studies of female history, conditions, experiences etc has been at a deficit for centuries. IMO, there has been female psychopaths and sociopaths probably as much as the male group. Its just that they were never considered worthy of being studied or observed because all the assessment methods and tools are based on seeking male gender-specific traits etc. But you just need to look at how pain has been quantified and measured, to ascertain that there was/is a disparate treatment towards, and obvious lack of attention or knowledge of female issues in comparison to male matters. For example, there are very few studies on female pain management, most of our pain treatments are based on studies that experimented on males which means there is a chasm between knowledge of, and implementing correct and appropriate forms of treatment. I think its fantastic that studies/research and people in general are taking females seriously now - in that we are as flawed as males and there are just as many female reprobates as there are male counterparts.

While identifying as a feminist who happens to be a Christian too as well I have for many years now already been warning people that fast tracking women into the professions too is not going to make that much difference since the early 1950's in China, 1969 in the United Kingdom and 1973 in North America too since Roe versus Wade. The abortion pill was first made legal for prescribing to women in China during the early 1950's.

I would say many smart psychopaths can be extremely charming, self controlled and able to ‘read’ other people extremely well and thus give them what they want to hear in order to be likeable. This is particularly the case if they have recognised they were different from a young age, and studied psychology and how best to fit in. Much easier these days with the internet . I have autism. I started reading psychology and medical journals & books at age 10 in the local library so I could understand better how to pretend I was ‘normal’ Short term I can fit in, but not long term. I doubt psychopaths are any different. I score very highly in the Hare test but I have no desire to harm anyone or anything , and I suspect autism and psychopathy could be confused at times. Not being able to have normal emotions or connection with other people is not a comfortable way to live. I experience emotions in my dreams that I do not have in real life - such as a sense of belonging, of being loved. My childhood was let us just say not the best, and I suspect my brain did not develop as it should in terms of emotions and the ability to relate to humans. Autism of course compounded this. I agree with your conclusions. It is the person and their actions and character which are important, not labels. My autism means I will never have friends or a full life. Am I also a psychopath? Perhaps. But part of who I am means I’ll never watch a child or weak person be bullied or hurt - regardless of personal danger I will act. If part of the reason I act is that I temporarily feel alive as I am in the face of danger, does this matter if I am doing good for others? In an emergency I won’t panic or forget what to do. Those ‘missing’ emotions can be very useful, and on an evolutionary basis I believe both autism and psychopaths had and still have their place.

Interesting and what it ultimately boils down to is your point at the end I think…we want decent/good leaders in leadership and in our life not toxic individuals and these can be in any guise .. and certainly in work environment some form of assessment prior to and certainly a probation is essential as it may help filter out those individuals to a certain degree I think 🤔 thank you 🙏 for sharing

There are few "pure" psychopaths or any other Cluster B, most are a mix of the PDs. Because of the nature of female competition it makes it more likely that a Narcissist or BPD diagnosis if any at all is decided on. I've met 2 female (majority) psychopaths in my time and both presented pretty differently through factors like intelligence and their different mix of other PDs. One was a narcissist mix, highly intelligent and one of the nastiest pieces of work I've ever met, male or female. The other, not narcissistic just had a reputation for using people and off colour conversations though not particularly nasty and of average intelligence. It would be hard for most to see these two as having a similar diagnosis which is why people let them slide under the radar.

Women's morality is situational. Ask a woman a moral question and she'll usually give a pragmatic answer.

I decided at 13 yrs old that I never wanted to get Married. Both my Parents were Narcissists and I never forgot their Terrible arguments !!! I'm 70 years old now and I am retired. I have my own place and my 2 Dogs. I think Women are Narcissists at the Least. But none of them got me !!!
