Morel fooling cheetu was a good example of experience. That's the beauty of hxh. The most powerful doesn't always win. Also, I hate cheetu for ruining the image of my favorite animal.

Morel is very underrated IMO and awesome.

The fact that Morel went toe to toe with Pouf and Youpi on his own at 40% strength (according to him) and didn’t get obliterated just shows how nutty he is. Probably has the highest kill count besides Killua and Hisoka too lol.

Morel is by far my favorite character when it came to fights and personality. He is the best example of writing a character with versatility, instead of just, "lOoK HoW sTroNg I aM!"

Moro is my favorite HxH character. The definition of a chill powerhouse and a strategic GOD.

Morel always will be one of my most favorite characters in Hunter Hunter. He was super chill, reliable, strong and capable because he was a deep thinker, and he had a great taste in music. If I could choose one character who I wanted to model myself after, it would be him.

I always think of Jiriaya when I think of Morel. They seem very similar in attitude and character. Honestly, one of my favorite nen abilities in the series, smoke man is king.

When Netero, Know and Morel first appear in the Chimera Ant Arch the chimera ants not using nen can still see morals smoke. So that some must be conjured or be real smoke. Also if his smoke is not conjured his opponents shouldn't get confused by his knuckle impressions, since they just have to deactivate gyo in order to not see them. This also brings up the question why at this point everyone seems to use gyo 100% of the time even though it was a quite investing technique when first introduced. I think he is able to use conjured smoke and transmuted aura

I think inteligence and creativity should count as talent as well

Morel Is a very likable and an under rated character in Hunter Hunter. He does have a natural talent of lung capacity though. Him and Hisoka Have the most versatile nen abilities.

Very, VERY late reply here, but i was just thinking... why didn't Morel tie his pipe to his arm? Like the rope he tied to Cheetu to reel him in, why didn't Morel use this same type of rope to keep the pipe from being stolen like Pouf did?

At I thought Morel was a throwaway character who would get killed off right away. Then he became one of my favorites, and each episode I was concerned that he’d die. Great character.

Morel is my Hunter role model. One of those quizzes said I was a natural manipulator which was disappointing but I would take a page from Morel's book and use a lighter as a focus or require myself to snap like FMA's Mustang and transmute aura to flame so I can cosplay as pyro man

Morel is my favorite in the manga and I can't believe that people can still be confused between manipulation, emission and transmutation. Emission is emitting nen from your body. With emission, nen can be transormed like razor's nen beasts or goreinau's gorillas that non nen users can see. Transmuters can change the properties of their nen like heat, cold, electric or elastic. Manipulators imbue their nen onto physical object therby controlling them. Morel being a manipulator uses real smoke for his hatsu(why do you think he carries his pipe all the time and when he loses his pipe, he can't use his hatsu coz he can't produce smoke). Him being a manipulator and closer to emission, he can do some of what emitters do like make his nen imbued smoke physicallt solid, move and fight so some extent. I hope this clears up the confusion.

Morel is the apex of Above average... HxH has such a great cast... His Deep Purple is really something else in terms of versatility...

I am not going to pretend to be a physicist by any stretch of imagination... but I think "Morrow" for Hisoka's last name might perhaps refer to the Morrow Mean Stress Correction equation which apparently is one equation used for fatigue analysis of elastic and plastic deformation. If not... that is one hell of a coincidence that our boy Bungee Gum extraordinaire has the same last name as a physicist studying elasticity equations :)

Transmuters are the Logia users of HxH and vice versa

It makes _ZERO_ sense for Morel to be Transmuting the smoke. Especially when he could accomplish the _EXACT_ same results with Conjuration. This strikes me as a result of reading into a bad translation. What's more, ash _CAN_ form solid objects. Just look at Pompeii.

Tbh i dont like it that he transmutes bis aura to have smoke like abilities. Why not just manipulate the smoke you're producing with your pipe? And transmutation is the most difficult for him so he needs to focus the most in that part.

I just finished rewatching hunter x hunter over the course of like 5 or 6 months. Finished it two days ago and upon rewatch morel became my favorite character. He wasn't my first go around back in 2015 but my second go through I kinda love the guy😂.

easily my faveorite nen user based only on the 2011 anime in my head, the pipe is conjured from nen via a long ritual/crafting process. Somehow the idea of any pipe working for this job as opposed to a specifically designed object is limiting in terms of being too lax a restriction for the smoke produced to be as flexible as he wants it to be, as well as too easy to get around for him not to have brought some sort of small backup pipe during the chimera ant arc in case someone, as pouf did, literally dumped his big pipe in a river. in this essay, I will...

I like Morel but the fandom really over hypes his power, like yes, he's strong, but he's far from top tier. I stand that Razor could take him.

He is a big piece of trash (especially in the manga) for using Gon’s anger for the sake of the mission. Then again, all the adults were when it came to Gon basically. He is a nice guy with overall good intentions of course, with an amazing ability. Should get a star or two from his role.

I really think these videos need to stop using the premise of affinity as the end all be all and how the graph is law when all it is is a rough estimate of one's natural inclination for a nen affinity. It feels like that one instance with the ability Double turned into the bible for Liam and others when all it did was served as an example of someone putting all of their chips in one basket vs something they had no affinity for for an ability that has no adaptability. It's not the nen affinity that did him in. It's his expression in those areas VS his natural affinity that did him in. As a Manipulator investing in transmutation (for Morel) isn't just some example of Morel being a powerful badass. I think its more along the lines of Nen Expression and the user considering what they needed to maximize their ability so to do so they dipped into another affinity. It's not a mistake that he did it or that he would have an overall harder time to do so. I dunno. I just can't over the rhetoric of: "Oh that affinity is all the way on the other side vs. his own." Ultimately it doesn't matter. As long as a user isn't investing into a non-natural affinity and forsaking all of the other principles of nen just for a specific nifty power then there's no distinct 'drawbacks' worth speaking of.

Morel is just a straight up Veteran and crafty man. I'd consider him a renaissance man of nen and it shows by not being limited the way most would be. He's literally that guy who reaches middle age and knows his stuff.

I'm one of the people you're talking about with the "misconception" that Morel's smoke is anything other than transmuted aura. It's really frustrating to me that no one who's arguing that Morel's smoke is nothing but transmuted aura will explain why this transmuted aura is not only visible to people who can't use Nen but completely obscures their vision like real smoke would or why the smoke troopers could be mistaken for real people. I can't think of any other case of transmuted aura being visible to people who aren't Nen users or being mistaken for real objects. That requires some sort of physical medium, either real or conjured.

One thing I don't understand is the durability of the smoke; in some cases, it is shown to become solid (ex. the underwater pipes or the smoke platform which he stands on, and the most suprising one being the rope that cheetu cannot break through), but this would just be too overpowered, he could basically surround himself with the smoke and make a body shield, plus there are times like when cheetu and youpi get rid of smoke doubles like regular smoke. The cheetu scene is the real mind-boggler to me though because it shows how he cannot damage the smoke rope that his leg is tied, yet a few seconds later he easily claws through the morel double holding the pipe??????
