Saturday August 3rd 2013 at 3.40 pm. The 13.05 London to Weymouth (16.00) train pulls into Moreton station and the 15.20 Weymouth to London (18.20) train pulls out. This is about a mile east of Crossways level crossing and between the two the line becomes a single track. Moreton is a small Dorset village of 270 people 130 miles from London. Despite its enviable train service to London, just 90 people a day use this station on average which is 2 people per train. After the first train has gone the audible warning changes and a recorded voice says "Warning another train is approaching". Inevitably its said when there isn't another train approaching.
