Terrifying story to tell but I think it could really help young professionals who rarely get guidance for such scenarios. I really hope this helps you! For career coaching check out: MarkRoss.com
Thanks for putting yourself out there Mark. I’m about to start university and I came across your channel through LinkedIn. It must’ve been a really stressful time for you, but I’m glad you overcame it. I hope this channel gets more subscribers, you have a great way of telling a story!
Thanks for sharing your story Mark! This really hit home and couldnt have come at a better time. Im in the middle of my exams and have an extension out for every single one. Unlike you, I am good at finishing work but im terrible at starting it. Ive come to the point where its holding me back but i dont want it to anymore. Im going to take on your improvements and i know i can get better!
Your experience from nearly getting fired to getting a happy pat on the back, is a classic example of how a positive change can bring wonders in one's life, be it personal or professional life... Thanks for sharing this🤗
Great story Mark. I recently was fired from MS and actually did not get a 30 day notice. It was the first time that I have ever been let go of a job - terrible experience to go through.
Morgan Stanley, please get your act together. After acquiring ETrade, it now takes 1 or 2 hours on hold before speaking with a customer service representative and this has been going on for the past 6 months. Today, after talking to robots, 46 minutes on hold, a rep finally came on only to say he couldn't hear me and hung up! (longest hold time thus far: +2 hrs)
Hey mark, love your channel. Im planning to do a masters in finance either next year January or October, is it possible for me to land an internship while doing my masters? I have a BS in biology but lost interest in it and found investment banking/portfolio management interesting.
Thanks for stopping by :). A word of caution. Going from biology into an MS you'll find that it's extremely difficult to land an IB or PM role. Typically you need a few years experience. I would suggest working a few years in finance and then doing your masters if your ultimate goal is IB. But in answer to your question, sure people do internships during masters all the time. I did.
Your title should Be "Morgan Stanley Saved My Career"! Your click-bait title causes the reader to believe that Morgan Stanley fired you after only 30 days of employment. You should clean that up for their sake. Many companies would not have given you a chance to improve. You should give as much credit to your Direct Manager for their feedback and guidance after the 30 day notice as you do for your own efforts afterwards to improve.
