Just lost 3 very dear friends in a row ~ it's given a whole new meaning to this song for me. rather than an old flame or a love interest how I originally interpreted it, now it's kind of a desperate plea to my dear friends that are lost, and a reminder to treasure every moment with those you truly care about. to do whatever you can to leave them on a good note rather a bad one, since you never ever truly know when it will be the last mortal interaction you ever have with them: "no way it was our last night...... no way it was our last night...... I know you said that this time you really weren't comin' back again"
This guy perfectly mixes modern country with 90s country, in my opinion. There’s a reason the guys SHATTERS single records day in and out. He’s reaching all of us.
To anybody reading this, I pray that whatever is hurting you or whatever you are constantly stressing about gets better. May the dark thoughts, the overthinking, and the doubt exit your mind may clarity replace confusion. may peace and calmness fill your life.
He’s in the country music genre but it’s not full country. Or what of most old timer would call country but yes you are right about him converting people over to this. Shaboozy startin do the same thing. With his “last of my kind song” esp
I have always hated country music. I mean HATED. I heard this song by total accident and had chills going through my body. I can't stop listening to it! It also encouraged me to listen to more of his songs and........damn. This one of the BEST music and lyric artists I've ever heard. He hits on a level for me that I cannot even describe. He is going to be one of the all time music greats for sure!!! Seriously, his words and his sound are a gift from God!
this isn't traditional country music, it's pop country. pop country has more mass appeal. I don't like country but I will listen to Morgan, Kane Brown, Chris Lane, Sam Hunt, Luke Combs, etc on repeat.
Look at that. Four guitars, drums, a synth and a dude who won't even sit upright and you create a beautiful song that speaks to millions all around the world. No CGI, no bullshit, no billions thrown in. This is music
it's not the spine, it's the muscles. specifically, the glutes, lower back, and abdomen (to maintain a sucked in belly). you should be able to comfortably maintain an upright position for at least a couple of hours. @@kytrensol9777
Last night we let the liquor talk I can't remember everything we said, but we said it all You told me that you wish I was somebody you never met But baby, baby, something's tellin' me this ain't over yet No way it was our last night I kiss your lips Make you grip the sheets with your fingertips Last bottle of Jack, we split a fifth Just talk about life goin' sip for sip, yeah You, you know you love to fight And I say shit, I don't mean But I'm still gon' wake up wantin' you and me I know that last night we let the liquor talk I can't remember everything we said, but we said it all You told me that you wish I was somebody you never met But baby, baby, something's tellin' me this ain't over yet No way it was our last night (last night, last night) No way it was our last night (last night, last night) No way it was the last night that we break up I see your tail lights in the dust You call your momma, I call your bluff In the middle of the night, pull it right back up Yeah, my, my friends say, "Let her go" Your friends say, "What the hell?" I wouldn't trade your kind of love for nothin' else Oh, baby, last night we let the liquor talk I can't remember everything we said, but we said it all You told me that you wish I was somebody you never met But baby, baby, something's tellin' me this ain't over yet No way it was our last night, we said we'd had enough I can't remember everything we said, but we said too much I know you packed your shit and slammed the door right before you left But baby, baby, something's tellin' me this ain't over yet No way it was our last night (last night, last night) No way it was our last night (last night, last night) I know you said this time you really weren't coming back again But baby, baby, something's tellin' me this ain't over yet No way it was our last night (last night, last night) No way it was our last night (last night, last night)
Last night I went to a country bar in a small city in countryside in the state of São Paulo brasil and a country band performed a famous music here that I knew I heard before somewhere but couldn't quite put my finger on it. Today I was listening to the song at home and realized they kind plagiarized this Morgan whalen song. If anyone is interested to see how Brazilian artists are using American songs to get famous here check out "triplex" by Matheus Fernandes and hear how he uses the same accords that "last night" has.

I recently started listening to country music and fell in love with Morgan. Having a live video chat session with him was a dream come true! thank you Bretton for this 🥰🤗. Love from the Philippines
I'm going to be the only nay-sayer here--I watch too much true crime where the girl says it's over and walks and now the now ex-boyfriend says nope, you're mine or no one's and goes and kills her. I've tried to stay positive but everytime I hear this song on the radio, this is what it reminds me of. So sometimes yeah it needs to be the last night and everyone needs to just walk away and let the relationship go.
Morgan, when this first came out I was homeless, messed up, and in jail. Now I have a husband, a home, and a good job. This song and “Clover Cage - Lies From The Devil” are the two songs that helped me overcome my depression. I just want people to know that things do get better. We are in this together. I love you ❤️
I did notice that Morgan has him (Dominic) in the studio on this new album. I was very happy to see that. I’m not sure why Morgan didn’t use his touring band in the studio on his first two full length albums.
Been w my lady 3 years and we broke up for a week. I went on what felt like a month worth of just living fast, drinking hard and doing a bunch of wild shit. Clubs, drugs, doing girls dirty, stayed up 24 hours and went to my career job the next day without sleep. I was listening to a shit ton of country and found that I really liked this guy Morgan wallen here and then me and my lady finally ended up seeing each other again and kickin it and she said she found a song she really liked after telling me she missed me and all that, turns out it was THIS song. Man that shit hit hard 😂💯❤️
Morgan wallen is absolutely by far one of the best entertaining person to come down the pike in a very very long time I do relate to so much of his music I was young once and made a lot of bad decisions doing drugs drinking heavy hurting alot of great women live in moment and thinking of myself years later still bothers me with guilt
😂😂Well he's good 😮 I mean Grea, There is a whole selection of country out there like this or better try Upchurch,Jelly roll are waves over our boi here in my opinion 😊
I can't get over how this is just a very basic, simple chord progression musically, like it's basically within the similar framework of a great many songs that have come before it. Yet when paired with Morgan's vocals, his impeccable, countryfied delivery and his almost rap-like cadence, it comes across as something totally fresh, infectious and it makes you just want to sing along. This ladies and gentlemen, is great songwriting and they hit it out of the park with this one. 😊
Every time I hear this I think of my husband. 4 yrs ago I walked out after 15 yrs thinking I was gonna go find a happier life. 3 yrs later we bumped into each other he'd gotten sober after I left. Now we've been together again for a year. Something told me ...😊
Morgan, I don't know how to explain your gift. It's so natural, raw, and original. I absolutely can't get enough. Thank you for always including your fans, I believe you are one of the most loved artist of all time. You are to me.
NO doubt that Morgan is one of the most loved artists! I love him even more because he does acknowledge and appreciate his family, friends and fans so much.
It's simple, rock has simply became Kuntry, and we're the winners of them both... Everyone likes hip hop now lol, shit is kinda dumb, money, hoes, and drugs. Wow, what a life, sarcasm of course 🙄
Hello, I hope you're safe over there? I hope this year brings happiness, prosperity, and love all over the world, I would love 💚us to be good friends in honesty and in trust if you don't mind. I'm Doctor Christopher Johnson from San Francisco, California, where are you from if I may ask?❤
I said to myself no way the magic of dangerous and all the amazing content like the sessions etc ….. no way it can happen again. People always screw up after the big success. Well I hoped and prayed and here we are with another massive record , more of the same great promo that made it so special. God I can’t wait for this album.
@@laurenhofmann4915 Yeah I had insane life stuff going on as well and could not get to a show for that tour. I think this will be amazing yes but I do mourn missing that. Big time. One of the biggest regrets of my life.
Same I was like no way can this new album be better than the Dangerous album which is in my opinion the best album I’ve ever heard. But songs like this, You Proof, and One Thing At A Time give me such high hopes for this album. I can’t wait!
Couldn’t have said it better. 3 years after splitting up with my husband of 9+ years. He sends me this song. So many parts of it are relatable. Every relationship has its ups and downs. But this song really makes me think of the relationship, and miss the parts from when it was good. But you have to be careful not to overlook the bad times too. It’s so easy to get wrapped up in “ what should have been” and lose sight of what reality is.
This is a underrated comment. Also his voice and swag is cute but this song is pure narcissistic. She wishes she never met he says it's not over n in this system of patriarchy and women submitting ain't no way it was our last night. And 40 mill views on this video. Women are doomed 😮.
This is one of the best country songs thats been written in a really long time. Hit the nail on the head with the lyrics. Most people can relate to something like this and you sang it perfectly. Props to you dude

Hi dear I hope you are having a good day Where you are..? This song hits so deeply into my heart and It keep a refreshing memory to me about someone I can't have back anymore 😢. I want you to know that love is a very wonderful thing you deserve and I deserve too. Life sometimes don't care about love, the people you care about so much, it is what it is we keep moving every day but it really hurts💔 I'm sorry if you may find this text pestering but it is what is!
Dude! Your song is No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the 16th consecutive week. Please be more active before everyone goes back to normal, dude. If you don’t hold on tight to this rare opportunity, then it’ll be too late to realise it.
This song is just yur typical country song, its Ok, nothing special. Idk why it went #1, let alone for 16 weeks. Old Town Road and Despecito, I understand. 💯
@@cavalrystyles8776 I think this song is quite special. Always have been the biggest country hater, but for some reason this song is just stuck in my head all the time. I absolutely love it. And I can't pinpoint why. I get why it's been number 1 for so long. Old Town Road, that one I didn't get.
To the dads living in the South whose daughter is getting picked up by a dude that looks like this, dresses like this, and drives a Chevy Silverado, I’m sorry.
This guy is the $h!+. I usually listen to pop and r&b, but I heard this song on the radio and instantly bobbed my head and snapped my fingers. We all can relate to a relationship that was toxic or you just didn't want to let go of, so the cycle continued. I've added him to my play list. No matter what type of music you may like, you cannot deny that this man's music is fire!
Yeah, everyone loves your music. I'm a big big, big, big. Big. Big big, big, big, big big fan. My name is Ella 11 Tennessee. It's my favorite you're my favorite favorite favorite singer. That's that 11 up there. It's not supposed to be there. I don't know why but you're my favorite. Sing it and the song you're listening to right now is last night. It's my favorite song ever if you and me. You'll me never gotta see but I might. I'm only 7 I don't get a good woman with a concert. I'm a big big fan. I know I said that all the time, but it's this. I have something for your music. Your voice sounds so good and last night.
Today is May 5th. Today, I heard this song on the radio for the 1st time, not from the beginning but midway thru, and I immediately became obsessed. Since a couple hrs ago, I've heard it 3 more times on different stations from the beginning this time, and I can not get enough. This song is amazing, and currently, as I'm rearranging me and my girlfriends apartment, I have it playing on Bluetooth over and over. Amazing song, voice, artist.
Great Song, this guy knows how to sing good Country tunes. Chair incident was just a dumb move that we all have done in our lifetime. Keep going Morgan!
🎶 Last night wifey found out about That I had scored a ticket to the show where M Wallens at She told me that she wished I was somebody she never met But baby baby I'll party hard tonight ain't got no regrets" 🎶
Just moved from Jersey to Texas and I am addicted to country music; Listening to country music is like taking a road trip through life - sometimes it's sad, sometimes it's sweet, but it always tells a story worth hearing.
My husband suffers from combat PTSD and TBI from Iraq. We are separated right now because it was no longer safe. I miss him tremendously. This song hits home. It explains it all.
I am very sorry for what your family is going through. I also suffer from the same as your husband. My wife and I are going through the same it is my doing. I self medicate with alcohol been through counseling struggle every day. Just know that he "the man you fell in love with" is in there as am I, but PTSD changes us to the point that we have seen the worst of humanity our brains have to find a way to deal with that and it is not fair to our loved ones to be put through that. We know what we have become we just have trouble conveying this and finding our way back to who we were before he trauma. Please all try and understand that it is not the ones we killed but the ones we could not save that haunts us. We love you all sorry for the pain.
Morgan Wallen is doing great . Another good song. I've heard it on several radio stations. 2 didn't think would play his songs. But some songs like this one is something a lot of have experienced at some point in our lives. Thank you Mr Wallen. Keep em coming
I love how many people hate country music that still love him and his music. He's so talented, and his voice just scratches something in my brain. He has so much passion when he sings, I get goosebumps every time.
There was something about it when I heard it! I'm not a big country fan but the lyrics were just hitting me like an early 2000s alt rock or emo song. I love it.
just introduced to Morgan Wallen as my son was playing him on car journey... voice is heart. . I am going to enjoy listening to Morgan this Christmas... Happy Christmas Blessings Everyone xxxx
I'm thinking of writing some lyrics re this season...waiting to get my songs Mastered.. don't have skill set as to what to do next.. some good songs on album.. taking long road...Have a Cosy, Comfortable Christmas @Morganwallenmusic9027
I know, I'm saying that this song compared to other songs you may hear on the radio, excluding music from the early to late 2000's and early 2010's, has better quality.
I was surprised because his music is so much better than I thought. "Last night" reminds me of a girl I once loved. Thank you Wellen. This music will never be forgotten in my heart. 😊😊😊
All of his songs a really BAD....................................................................................................................................................BAD ASS, that is!!!!!!
@Drew Collis if you consider some shitty hip hop beat with lyrics that say and mean nothing and to wrap it all up label it as "country" good. Then I'm afraid you don't know what good music sounds like.
Morgan wallen people are talking mean about you and I am your biggest fan ever your music is the best even the one's I haven't heard yet but I LOVE you your music is great❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Coming from someone who's never liked country music, I just have to say that I cannot get enough of this song or this video. I'm completely addicted. I've listened to this song more this month than any other. I think it's fair to say I've been converted. Also Morgan's a BABE 😍🎶

My music taste is pretty open but country hasn’t ever really broken into my liking, but this… damn this guys voice is amazing on this & the guitar is pretty simple but it sounds so good along with his voice. The drums aren’t too much, subtle enough to make this song flow great!
I wonder if they knew how insanely successful this song would be when they recorded it. Omg. And also, the fact that they went in and took the time to do these AMAZING acoustic sessions for a bunch of the songs on this album? Like what? It just shows how hard he works and how hard his team works. Like they don’t say no to anything because it’s “too much work.”
Country music originates from Mexican roots! Johnny Cash is the most inspired by it. And every country artists these days are inspired by him. There's still some hints to Mexican music in modern country music.
