God, the nuances are so unbelievably good. That shitty face after saying "This week, I'm looking at television" around 0:17 is spot-on Russel Brand lmao. I cant stop laughing 😂
To be fair. What do you expect the BBC to do? That 16-year-old could have been anyone: a relative, a family friend. If you had an expense account at a large company, would you expect them to red flag something like this?
And what do you expect the BBC to red flag? That a taxi went to a school? How are they to know that it's picking up a child? It could be a mother and a child; it could be anyone that Brand was working with who happened to be at school for any reason. Look, I think Brand is a wrong-un, but let's keep it in perspective
@@johngilmore697uh no, if a cab is going to a school then there’s an elevated likelihood that it’s been sent to collect a child. If there’s an elevated likelihood of a child being groomed or exploited, it’s worth looking into even if it was probably fine - this is called “a precautionary measure”
@@ericlayton8888 "there’s an elevated likelihood of a child being groomed, " That's the jump-a massive, massive jump. What exactly do you expect the BBC to do? If you worked for Amazon and had an expense account at a taxi firm, would you expect them to investigate if you sent a taxi to pick up your friend's child? You can use terms like "precautionary measure”, which doesn't mean you're not being extreme or expecting far far too much from a corporation; it's ridiculous they are not detectives. Why not bug employees' phones or attach a tracking device to them and spontaneously check up on them?
@@jocelynhunter2359 He never had it, he was always a ranting weasel. His clown shit about not voting to protest Labour was a big help to the tories when they got back in after 2008. He was always a tory at heart, Sacha Baron Cohen is a man in the same mold.
@joeavreg2254 I never agreed with his anti voting stance but I've yet to find any person I agreed with every position they have/had. I suppose I'm more interested when people come up with interesting angles and perspectives than whether I agree with every perspective they have.
@@jocelynhunter2359 he didn't have any, he was the Andrew Tate of his day if he talked like JBP. Don't put significance on the words of bullshit artists and sex offenders who know they are scammers. The fake lefty stuff isn't working anymore so now is time for the hard right religious turn into psuedoscience and culture wars.
Why on earth would you click on something you expect to be crap? Do you go shopping for food that you don't think you will enjoy eating, or buy clothes you don't think will fit you?
The thumbnail alone made me think the complete opposite. How on earth would you have thought, based on the thumbnail, this Russell Brand impression would be crap?
Well . . . it is accurate in more than one way. Sure, he does go off on his silly little rants . . . but like he/she said, Mass Media is an opiate. For all he is against it, he is part OF IT. They don't have one message for all people, because they found that wasn't subtle enough. And they have Russel for the bleeding hearts, and Whitehouse for the sneering druggies and so on. Russel is on TV, people watch, and then there are adverts.
I'm confused - do you mean the impresson in this video? Or does the real Russell Brand have an entire season of 12 shows where he bangs on exclusively about how evil Peppa Pig is?
@@Shsjier my man was locked in. He knew it was coming and knew there was more money on the right, and could just claim they're attacking him now because he's "onto the truth"
I love this impression, the made up words, the sniff at the end, it's great. Although it does highlight how you can't actually write stupid incoherence as all her points about Peppa Pig actually make sense.
Spot on , Russel talking nonsense quickly interspersed with a big word or two to make it look as if he is some intellectual heavyweight he’s not . Poor old Randy Russel doesn’t quite know what he is and what he stands for expecting another change of direction once his legal woes are complete
Brilliant, and she was great in House of Fools and Toast of London/Tinseltown etc. About eight years ago, I left a glowing review of her own show (The Agency) on IMDB. The BBC didn't renew it. This was predicted correctly in my review (I'm not normally right!), as the the BBC were going the way of US TV companies and cancelling stuff that didn't get above a certain amount of viewers. If that happened in the 20th century, Monty Python would have only lasted one series and very likely with no films.
Isn't it ironic that the only reason this didn't go much harder was because it was on broadcast television. I loved her portrayal but do wish she'd taken some proper punches regarding the crimes we all know he committed.
I guess that that similar to saying if you support the BBC the you support those who support pedos and rapists, as let's not forget that is exactly hat the BBC has been doing for decades. Imagine supporting the BBC, Sounds like your a pedo apologist.
Loved her on taskmaster (as an Aussie, haven't had much exposure to her other work) & thought she had a brilliant sense of humour - this confirms it 👍😂
She was in a series called "toast of london" as well with Matt Berry, it's quite hard to find these days but if you do manage to I strongly recommend it
I don’t think Ayoade ever was, the last I heard Noel talk about him was to say “he’s operating on a different calendar now, I don’t see much of him” - idk wtf that means but potentially that he’s on another planet?
I’m just now finding out this was Morgana Robinson, after watching these segments almost a decade ago. I feel bad for thinking I’d never seen her work when I saw her on Taskmaster
As someone who once cautiously enjoyed Russel Brand for his seemingly worldly, vacuous ramblings before he went anti-vax, this really hit the spot lmao.
