Mori used to only be called Mori girl or boy. Dark Mori was called Strega since it was inspired by the strega witch lore. The other sister fashion you didn't mention is Dolly kei.

Dolly kei may not have been included because it popped up more as a store specific style. I'd say it's more comperable to cult party kei, in that people who identified their style as dolly kei shopped at Grimoire, just like cult party folks shopped at cult party/Virgin Mary

Mori, in contrast, wasn't really tied to one particular store, but was more youth-led (?) also really doesn't have anything to do with nature

i love seeing a fellow puerto rican in one of these videos i cannot express the happiness i feel were not really represented in media... (i could just tell from her accent too!!!) (also i know you did gyaru fashion before a while back but im really interested to see specifics. for me personally really hope to see one dedicated to hime gyaru style! its my favorite gyaru fashion but i dont really it much unless its really old picture or videos)

Thank you so much, for featuring these two sweet ladies. My friend Miwako is absolutely amazing and helped me learn and discover Mori Kei. I immediately gave DD a follow, and love her content already. I’m so happy to see this small community resurface and get all the love that it deserves. I, myself, am a small growing Mori and so this truly helps me to know that we are still seen as an adorable, fun, cozy and timeless fashion.

I have been wearing mori kei for many years now but I didn't know much about the history. I watched it come and go in Japan while wearing other jfashions and admired it then but I didn't know the origin with Choco. I wonder how big our community is because I have talked to many people into it on different platforms but we are so scattered it's hard to tell if it's still alive.

Honestly makes sense since twee was a lot more popular around the late 2000's to early 2010's! I have this personal theory that the J-Fashion styles that pop up in Japan relate to what is trending around the world at that time kind of like how the look of Decora evolved over time since the 90s

was sooooo happy when i saw this upload!! i used to be super into mori kei when i was a teenager (as well as lolita) & i have been thinking abt it recently (esp when cottagecore was trending, i was like this is just mori kei 2.0 lol!!) i even did a school research project on mori kei when i was 14 :D

I was so suprised to see finnish in the Samantha Moss storefronts. The first storefront (1:22:37) has text "keittiö" which means kitchen and the second storefront (1:23:55) reads "ehkä söpö" which means "maybe cute"
