@@ronireacts_to_all She was named by her father who is a rock musician after Alanis Morissette. Obviously there's some musical influence in rock tunes when Mori was growing up. You can look it up yourself on youtube her cover of some classic rock tunes. Hope you find the right one!

It's a jazz tune written in the seventies by Chick Corea based on the Adaggio of the Concierto de Arunjuez by Rodrigo. Later another jazz legend Al Jarreau put some lyrics on it and it became one of his signature songs. This version is the base for the cover by Gary V, adding some of his own skatting. This link hasn't got a lot of hits yet, but that's due to the fact that the original Wish Bus 107,5 video has been put down several times. I don't know the reason for this. I'm sure you'll love it. The only reason you refer the track as "Disney" is because you have probably forgotten about ballads as a genre. Don't people write and appreciate love songs anymore? If love is timeless, why would and indeed should a love song be regarded as "cheesy"? People don't fall in love anymore? While I might agree a ballad may sound perhaps less "trendy" as compared to say a hip hop track, but I am referring to proper singing here i.e. songs that are sung with a proper voice and technique. The irony and truth is plenty of people including the younger generation such as Gen Z are still consuming ballads as we speak. You don't have to look far, many people entering into singing competitions such as The Voice for example still regularly pick classic ballads to showcase their singing skills. A classic ballad such as "The Greatest Love of All" by Whitney Houston was released as far back as 1986, some almost 38 years ago. And yet teenagers still know the track? How is that possible? Well, it is because it is a "classic" and classics are timeless and not cheesy. Shakespeare's work is classic, not cheesy. By the same token, "Akin Ka Na Lan" will also become a classic in due course too and most likely sooner than you think. Many classic ballads are still being purchased and consumed by audiophiles such as myself where fantastic tracks are covered by beautiful alternative voices such as Inger Marie Gundersen, Chantal Chamberland, Halie Loren, etc just to name a few. I promise you, if you listen to "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?" (covered by Inger Marie Gundersen), "cheesy" will be the last thing that will come into your head.
Hmmm. I see what you're saying. Perhaps I should have described it as classic ballad and not "cheesy". It is a much more fitting to call it this way, so I stand corrected and appreciate you writing this. It had a Disney feel to it in my opinion, I often drift to movies and TV shows when I describe a certain vibe when I hear a song (also, she does kind of looks like a beautiful princess, don't you think?), so that wasn't meant as a bad thing. I do have a few more suggestions that I want to listen to from her. From what ai understand she sings a lot of different genres so I am very curious and looking forward seeing her! 🙏💜🎶
