Both of them are amazingly talented. Morissette just need popularity like Tori has, or a popularity like Ariana Grande. Her voice is really a major talent.
Morissette has one of the best belting registers on recent times. Tori is more chesty, is able to produce resonance. However, above Eb5 she can get a little throaty/pushy.
I must say tori’s agility is insane and is what sets her apart from most singers but you have to admit whilst it might not be her number 1 strength tori can belt! :)
All this Morissette content is keeping me ALIVE! While she has many vocal gifts, her tone and her dynamics are to me the main jewels on her vocal crown. I haven't been this excited about a vocalist since Aguilera.
I love the natural sounding gritty voice of Tori Kelly, and her fluid runs, and I feel it in my soul. But Mori also has a lot to offer. they have just different tone colors or flavors.
I am a Tori Kelly Stan and I know you will come for me but they could have used better clips for Tori honestly. But Morissette is amazing she wins here for me and would have probably won with better clips of Tori as well. But yeah Tori does much better than that
Very close actually, coming from someone who stans both. Tori's got agility and consistency in pitch, but Morissette's got range and resonance. Tone is subjective, and both are gorgeous
It's like a couple of race cars. They were neck to neck in the first quarter mile, but then Morissette blew out Tori as the octaves got higher. Tori started to strain quite a bit. I'd like to see a video of Tori doing whistle register like Mori's "Akin ka na lang" and her version of "I wanna know what love is". Don't forget, Mori has incredible lows too!
Singing is not about always singing high notes... Morissette Amon is truly a gifted singer because she has amazing voice control, a lot of vocal ability, clear beautiful tone 👑😍🇵🇭 she's a real performer... My view, 2 amazing singers but this should be a battle of singers that have the same size types in voices. Morissette was the clear cut winner in terms of belt power because she has a larger voice than Tori’s, so she’s gonna naturally have more resonance. If this was the same battle with someone who had the same kind of power of Morissette like Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Jessie J, Pia Toscano, this would’ve been a more fair assessment. Tori is amazing and one of my favorites, she has a smaller, but more colorful voice. Great video reaction regardless though 😁💯👌🏾🎶

This is a wonderfully made comparison because you recognized your preference (the word bias is used as an evil word these days) regardless of technicality you still chose some of Tori's examples because you really connected with her. This is actually lowkey not a comparison. Morissette easily wins belting, support, ease, resonance, and vibrato than Tori. Morissette prefers a chest-dominant mix to Tori and very powerful, that itself is really hard to do but she supports it really well. Tori has more ease in upper belts because she thins out and mixes a lot, Morissette might have a heavy placement at that area but she still keeps a lot of support, hence still has a lot of resonance and less throaty. Tori is better in agility and transitions though. But she still supports a lot that she is considered one of the best vocalists right now, she just has ease and she projects so well that her soft vocals fool you that she can't hit those notes.
Definitely Morissette. The thing I noticed was that whom ever compiled this video, and I've noticed it with a lot of others as well, is that it is easy to tell who they like better because usually the audio clips to their preference has better sound quality. In this case the video creator liked Tori better. Just my honest observation.
The original video is very meh, both singers have better clips for each. That said as a big Tori Kelly fan Morissette is a better belter in the upper range, almost not comparable singers. You could do an agility contest and Tori blows most singers out of the water. Both are awesome ladies

One problem I definitely have with Morisette from a stylistic angle is that she's too by-the-book perfect. I'd rather hear someone vary their style and use some nasality, distortion, mix and everything else in tasteful ways than just hear someone sing endless perfect belts.
They kinda deny Mori.... that the creator of the vid on the Mori Ari Mariah was biased but still Morissette has better clips than those used at that video
Some of Morissette's clips weren't the best either. Plus Tori would have an edge if you would include her more recent performance because they have a 4 year age gap.

What you call 'strain' is a mere, intentional technical difference LOL... Tori isnt feeling strained or sore after these...she does them super frequently. Morisette sing with a more 'trained' sound... but who cares about tranied sounds lol.
Why because she is white? If you didn’t know either women and closed your eyes and only listened to their vocal abilities, it would be Morissette across the board and if you were honest with yourself, you would agree.
@@denM-ey3vb not really, a lot of people prefer Tori because if you get to dive deeper into her discography, the musicality she have is just insane. She wasn't just belting here and there, her agility, her sense of melody in her riffs are very complex and fitting. As for Morissette, hands down to her because of the stamina, resonance, consistency in her tone, and overall vocal skills. We can't just neglect Tori's level of creativity and pulling the race card here and there...
