They were chosen by Disney to record this song for the Philippine release of Aladdin the movie. Hence, they didnt change the original melody as per Disney's instructions. Also, Morissette did an interview of both Alan Menken and Genie himself Will Smith and was able to sing a few lines and duet with Alan Menken. That was very inspiring to see.
