My favorite original song of Miss Morissette Amon...amazing...
@catfon10

Mahalo ko .... My love. Jo ko ... My Jo. This is such a devastating love song, and more so, that Mori delivered it ... not having to worry about vocals, because she has much much more than what it takes, and zeroing on telling the story. Thank you for reacting to this beautiful Mori performance.

Morissette is the best and most talented Filipino singer at the moment, but it looks like the world and Indonesia don't know her yet ... I hope she can collaborate with the world's top singers and from Indonesia like Agnez Mo or Raisa ... so that the name Morissette is known more quickly!

Good day Whitney, to understood the phrase "NARIRINIG MO BA AKO" have you heared me? it is a phrase of interogative sentence or asking words and sometimes you hear word "AKO" means I or I AM and the other is "KO" meaning ME, the song it self similar to to her song AKIN KA NA LANG wich his/her friend secretly feel inlove to the other one and the other one is he/she unknowingly about it. We have so Much of our songs have dept maening touchfull and very sintemintal lyrics. Thanks for you patiently react our pilipino singers. 🙏🙏🙏

Regarding your observations about the microphone, there was a recent interview with Jay R and he mentioned how nerve wracking it is to be on the Wish Bus, not only because the mic is super sensitive and picks up everything, but it also sways around if the bus is moving. It can be like a moving target right in the middle of your performance!

@mickee
@mickee 3 года назад
Hi Whitney! In the song, the chorus goes "naririnig mo ba _ako_ ." But you are right that the word "ko" can also mean "me". It depends on the form of the sentence. Some sentences can be written in two ways, regular and the inverted. Example: English: I took it. Filipino: _Ako ang kumuha nito._ - literal translation or it can be: _Kinuha ko ito._ - normally used/conversational English: It was taken by me. Filipino: _Ito ay kinuha ko._ So, _ako_ is *I/me* in English. And _ko_ can be *I/me/my.*

You were right with the word 'Ako' which is 'me.' But if you use the word as the subject of the sentence ( like, Ako ay kumakanta, it translates to: I am singing, in which the word: ako is already: I.)

yup it could mean "me, my or I". Ako and Ko is about myself but the meaning depends on how it is used. Most of the time "Ako" is "Me" but when you're introducing yourself like "Ako po si Whitney" it means "I am Whitney". It turned to "I am"

There is more to the story of this song. This song is ALL about the lyrics and the story, and how the words are tied to the method she used to sing them. This is a sad gut wrenching love song -- and the whole story is NOT told in this performance. There is another video she made singing this song that connects the dots and tells the painful story of what this song is really all about. Why is she singing the way she is? The words and the painful story. People were beating up on her boyfriend for ignoring her and blowing her off in the video. That is not seen in the Wish Bus version. He was NOT ignoring her and he DID love her, but he could not see her in their apartment as she tried to help and love him. She was actually miles away in hospital bed in a coma, possibly dying. The lyrics tells the story, and she sings to the story. "Please do not give up on me." "Can't you hear my heart screaming my love for you?" "CAN'T YOU HEAR ME???" No, he could not. In the hospital room, as he held her hand and dozed off, she kissed him, and he woke up, but she was still unconscious in the hospital bed. Other Video: @ The lyrics are on the Wish Bus version of this song at bottom of screen when you press the cc translator.
