I personally think this is by far the best performance of this song. You may have ruined it for yourself to listen to the original lol. The original is still a beautiful song though sung by a wonderfully talented singer. Morissette is just on another level imo.
I completely agree about some artists overusing their "power" and taking away from the song. That is why I can't even listen to Jennifer Hudson or Mariah Carey. Can't stand either of them. They ruin ever song they sing, for me anyway, because they are too busy grandstanding to worry about the integrity of the song.
