I really love this pedal. Used it for years until it broke down. Tried many new pedals, and bought a new morley pedal. Nice operation: low noise, automatic switch, 9v. But i missed the sound and BIG sweep of this pedal. So i repaired it and are more than happy with it. One thing to note: in my European version i had direct a 220-240v power plug socket and input transformer in the housing that turned out to generate quite some extra hum/noise. I moved the transformer outside the housing into a big power plug (transformer type plug), and operation has improved.
are you using tube amp? because this pedal is killer...i realised cliff in 86 had his tone by cranking the gain up on his tube mesa d180 heads for his regular broken up growly tone and then he would stomp on the wah(with boost up) in order to get a full on saturation(like you did in this video) this really prooved my theory..awesome
tokiony cool man, do you still have a tube amp and that wah..if yes could you make a short video with cranked up gain on amp(clean channel) so its already overdriven and then engaging the boost wah? just for the reference if you have time, great video btw, best one online
Thanks for your comment! I definitely make both good videos and bad videos(lol)!!! I wish I still had it but I sold it to my customer(I have an online store)... oh yes, it would even sound better if the amp was turn up more with gain, no doubt about it!
+bolem boosts...you cant use it only as a distortion, but you can use it in front of light overdrive to get more overdrive(in that case it works as a gain boost)..
+Allen Toler it is a volume knob basically, that adds up to 20db of gain..you can hear how he got a bit overdriven sound, its because boost pushed amp into saturation....if you use it clean than its aditional loudness, but if you use it in front of the distortion it pushes the dirt into more dirt...lets say you have slightly overdriven tone for rhythm and want to play solo so you engage wah with boost and you get more sustain, more distortion..hope this helps
