Straight in isn’t always the wrong decision, especially in faster aircraft. But you have to be aware of traffic and work together for the best solution. This time it was best to join the pattern.

The cloud type is Cirrus as you stated. The variant you wanted to know is Cirrus Fibratus but it also appears you may of had some Cirrus Uncinus in there ( mares tails ) Let’s just hope the FAA don’t put them in the next round of exams 😂
