Catching the early morning rush hour in Ikebukuro; one of my favourite areas of Tokyo, Japan. Taking photos with the Fujifilm X-T5 and filming with the Fuji X-H2S, I'm always surprised and amazed by how beautiful the light is here in Japan. There's honestly something different about it. It's kinda hazy but sharp and definitely chrome-y.
Maybe it's to do with how clean everything is, or maybe it's just geographic positioning? Something hits differently about it!
Following on from my recent video about my first look at the Fujifilm X-T5, I've got some extra thoughts about the X-T5 AF performance and how it compares between the X-H2 and X-H2S.
I hope you're enjoying the start to the Japan content - I've been out filming a lot lately and have plenty of great videos in the works, coming soon, with some sneak peeks going up on my Patreon too!

@bsmukler
@bsmukler Год назад
Beautiful photos and video! If you listen to Kevin Mullins’s interview (on Fujicast) of some of the Fujifilm product designers, the differentiation among the H2, H2S and XT-5 is pretty clear and it makes sense that the H2S auto focus seems more responsive than that of the XT-5. It’s not so much a pecking order as it is a difference in the vision and goals for each of the models. I have not used my XT-4 enough for fast moving subjects (although I have done some practice with it) to feel I’ve really nailed the best set-up for specific use cases. I think lens choice and set-up are key with all of the current, advanced systems. The whole field is developing so fast that it is reasonable to assume that camera body and lens structure and drive compatibility as well as firmware advances will continue to make some brands and models momentarily pull ahead of others in the race toward perfection. I think it is great that Fujifilm actively considers customer feedback and suggestions in their design and improvement of their products.

Ikebukuro is a weird one. It has a bit of a reputation for being a little uncool and/or dirty. (My missus doesn't like the area) I don't mind the place, but I guess that's because I often go there because the shooting studio is there, and I've got to know the area better. Must say though, I do prefer Shinjuku though. 😆 But as a larger whole, Shibuya/Shinjuku/Takadanobaba/Ikebukuro/Nerima/Nakano block is my fav part of the central 23 wards. And, yes. At the moment. The weather is a pain to dress for. Chilly in the morning, rather warm during the middle of the day. (Except today, today is just chilly and grey)
@joeallam
@joeallam Год назад
Hmmm interesting! I think we just have such wholesome memories and times in Ikebukuro that it's become a favourite place. For sure the Western area of Tokyo is my favourite in general though. And yes, I've been so confused about what to wear during the day lately. I'm consistently not trusting myself that a jacket on a t-shirt will be fine, and then constantly finding myself carrying the hoody I stupidly decided to bring and overheat in.

X-T5 will definitely be sharper than X-T4 with almost double the resolution, especially when scaled down to the same size screen/paper. What lens are you using on the X-T4 though.
