Welcome to Copenhagen, the enchanting city that seamlessly blends ancient history with modern innovation. Situated on the eastern coast of Denmark, this vibrant capital is famous for its stunning architecture, charming canals, and the warm-hearted hospitality of its residents.
I start my morning walk on the Inderhavnsbroen bridge and then stroll along Nyhavn, the picturesque harbor lined with colorful buildings, historic ships, and charming cafes.
At the end of Nyhavn I walk through The King's New Square (Kongens Nytorv). It's a central square in Copenhagen, Denmark, known for its historical significance and surrounded by several notable landmarks, such as:
Royal Danish Theater. This historic theater is one of the most prominent cultural institutions in Denmark.
Magasin du Nord. This upscale department store is a shopping destination in Copenhagen. It has been in operation since 1868.
Hotel d'Angleterre: This luxury hotel, established in 1755, is a Copenhagen institution and one of the city's most prestigious places to stay.
Statue of King Christian V: In the center of Kongens Nytorv stands a prominent equestrian statue of King Christian V, who ruled Denmark from 1670 to 1699.
From here I make my way to The King's Garden and Rosenborg Castle. The gardens surrounding Rosenborg Castle are not only beautiful but also historically significant. They were laid out in the early 17th century and have been preserved in their original Renaissance style, making them a unique and well-maintained historical green space in the heart of the city.
I exit the garden and head to Trinity Church and The Round Tower, an astronomical observatory built in the 17th century. You can ascend the spiral ramp for panoramic views of the city's rooftops.
I continue my walk to Jorcks Passage, a historic shopping arcade. On my way I pass by the University of Copenhagen and Church of Our Lady.
From the passage I turn right and walk to Gammeltorv Square with the charming Caritas Fountain.
Countinue walking straight I reach The City Hall Square (Rådhuspladsen). The square is dominated by the Copenhagen City Hall (Københavns Rådhus), a magnificent Neo-Renaissance building completed in 1905. Its distinctive clock tower, adorned with an intricate astronomical clock, is a notable landmark and a symbol of the city.
I conclude my journey at the Tivoli Gardens(Tivoli), one of the world's oldest amusement parks. It opened in 1843 and still operates with a mix of classic rides, modern attractions, and beautiful gardens.
