Morning Walk in Yokohama Chinatown 

LOVED!! The hanging lanterns and flags in the street make me happier than they should, lol. I adore them. Especially when there is a breeze. The moon cake building had some great tiles on it. I so enjoy the sights, sounds, and listening to your voice while I work

Nice to see Yokohama Chinatown again after all these years. I was stationed in Yokohama with the military back in the '50s and spent many of my free hours enjoying the area and Motomachi as well. What a great place it had become. Would like to revisit in the near future. Great video.

Got lost once and ended up in Motomachi on Christmas Eve and the lights there were very pretty. Perfect cosy feel. Maybe you can show us there in Dec :) I wonder if it still looks the same.

Sleeping in lately cause I'm on vacation and what a nice treat to wake up to a new Shinichi video. And I think it's fun to get lost. The coolest places are found doing that. This was a nice walk. The park was really cute and the temple was really beautiful.😊

Hey Shinichi. I enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing. Just a tip to avoid the flickering effect on your videos at about 6:00min. Switch your recording to 25fps (or the closest 24fps) if your location is 50hz. If your location is 60hz like the usa for instance you’ll be using 30fps.

I lived in Yokohama 1998-2001. One of my regrets is that I did not explore Chinatown enough.

I haven’t watched any Yokohama videos yet, and have only “toured” it in The 7th Yakuza game, but they nailed Chinatown. I used to live in Chinatown, in Los Angeles, and this video is making me nostalgic.

Thank you. The biggest surprise was the end. The European area! I would never have expected that! The Vietnamese cafe looked really interesting. When you said coffee, I said I want to go there! So many places to eat. I made ramen last night. Maybe egg foo yung today? I have found I don’t miss or grab fast food anymore now that I know how to make a quick ramen bowl. American fast food is everywhere and it does a lot of harm. I am happy that some Asian dishes are so quick and easy! More satisfying too. Walks with you are fun!

Good morning, Shinichi! Your Chinatown is very interesting. Your video makes me miss the Chinatown in NYC. The European street kind of reminds me of walking around 5th Avenue in NYC.

This route was almost exactly like the one I took the last time I was in Yokohama, first to Chinatown for a late breakfast, then a walk to Motomachi and then Yamashita Park, followed by another u-turn back to Chinatown for food to bring back to Tokyo.

Cafe Giảng is famous for their Egg Coffee. It doesn’t “fishy” like some others that’s why it’s really yummy and loved by locals here in Vietnam 😋!
