@@ThomasDoubting5 We get loads of them here in our garden after I fill up the feeders 😊 Not sure why they're not liked, unless it's because their gangs are expensive to feed 😂
@@neilcook4686 it's because of the large numbers like you have pointed out I'd think, people don't have issues with us having large numbers but anything else it's vermin
I had a starling long ago. He would sing along with the violin. They are such despised birds. The city used to poison them. But they are very nice birds really. They can't help that they are so successful that the population sometimes overwhelms the available assets. I also think they are very beautiful. I'm glad this one is safe and happy with you.
@jklfds85 they are invasive in North America. There's a reason why they are called European Starlings, they should not be here and are now cause ecological damage They are lovely birds when they are where they are supposed to be though
@@jklfds85 Starling are considered as an invasive species in the US. Since they tend feed on crops, farmers don't really like them. Also, they tend to reunite at night to sleep, which can be seen as a problem in an urban setting, because they're noisy and they produce a lot of shit. Seriously, I lived in a town in France where starlings migrate every fall. On certain places, you can't park your car under the trees during the night, unless you want to repaint it with bird feces. And yes, it stinks. I still like those birds though.
@@mariondumont7634 Whelp, that‘s what we get when we leave no room for other animals. They‘ll simply adapt and make room for themselves in „our territory“.
Recently got a pair of earphones so i don't disturb my partner while she sleeps. How glad i did, this little bird is fantastic, hes a little feathered digital recorder of life as he flys around and so incredibly talented. Thank you little bird xx
It’s really crazy how these little birds can manage to perfectly mimic the sound of dogs barking, phone typing, and even the sound played when a phone takes a picture.
I can imagine sitting on the deck in the morning with my coffee listening to the birds in the trees. You can smell the roses, I'll stop and listen to the beautiful birds.
This starling is so sweet how did you teach it these birds are wild there is a starling that flies around our area it whistles the tune colonel bogey it is adorable
Starlings never get the credit, for the wonderful bird that they truly are. One of the most prolific birds in the north Americas. Vary Cool Bird! 🫵🏼👍🏻👍🏻
Credit for what? Bullying any bird smaller than them? Stripping bird feeders in minutes? Acting like locusts? Or did you mean their habbit of showing up in screeching swarms of 20+ birds?
What a beautiful bird. The ability of some birds to imitate sounds is amazing, but the ability to remember such long specific sounds in detail is just as amazing to me.
Wow! I’ve always loved starlings. This gorgeous little bird’s amazing singing has made me love them even more. Nature and wildlife are magical and make me happy every day😊
He is wonderful. He is a male- the bluish tint at base of beak. I have a female- pink at her beak base. She is sitting on 4 eggs in a box on my closet. She has laid eggs every year for 8 years. No males around- just extremely spoiled and healthy. Raised with my dogs. She sits for about 3 weeks and then moves on. Then molting season starts.
Ever seen 4 starlings gang up on a finch about a quarter of their size, and keep attacking it until it drops the worms it was about to take back to it's babies? Screw these horrible little bullies!
I have some wild starlings living around my place that mimic all the wild birds including eagles, Hawks and all the noises in my neighborhood. If they feel threatened, they will give off the call o a bald eagle. Truly very impressive birds. I can't fathom why they are considered pests because they are brilliant and highly intelligent. Their mermerations are a spectacle to behold. They all behave as one entity. like the many cells that function in unison to create a moving hand or leg on a human being. Without all the cells fnctioning as one entity, you have disorder. Cancer.
Ever seen 4 of these bullying a blackbird until it drops the worms it just dug up for it's babies? Ever seen (i am not joking) 30-50 of these turn up in your garden and eat 3 days worth of birdfood in 5 minutes? Ever spotted 5 starlings wait for a pigeon to leave it's nest...then fly down and eat all of their unhatched children? Screw these nasty little bullies!
They you don't like hearing starlings. These little bullies routinely bully and attack the songbirds in our garden and try to hoard all the food to themselves.
I really love that mellow voice of him so serenading and sweet that's very difficult to duplicate by any other birds. I'll try to find one to be a member of my family and will treat him or her to the best we can and when he arrived we all will say to him "WELCOME HOME SWEETIE " and the day after we will bring him to dine out and let him eat with us on the table and let him free to choose whatever his preference, anything that he selected to eat or drink he's free to do anything because we love him. 💕💕
That is one brilliant and beautiful bird, Until I find the Simurgh bird without I'll keep the one within happy , Simurgh is the Phoenix. Thank you for sharing this 🙏🏻 ❤️ 🖖🏻!
Cet oiseau est tout simplement époustouflant !!Il se repasse en boucle tous les sons qu il a entendus et enregistrés !!! En plus d être beau,il est génial !!!🤩🤩🤩🥰🥰🥰
Omgoodness, what a little showman!!!😂 That was absolutely AMAZING, and adorable too!!🏆🥇🏅 I wonder, without cheating with synthesizers or computers, how many instruments or objects would have to be used to replicate this song??🤷 To be honest, l don't think we could properly do it. I mean who *really* does anything better than Mother Nature anyways? Wishing our wee opera and stage star a very long, very happy, very healthy life! What a little sweetheart, what a great start to any day!! 🤗💖🍀🐾🌈☮️🇨🇦✌🏻
@@dd11111 Yes , they can be a little screechy but the only bullies are humans. Animals just do what they do, not mean or bad and they don't plot to be mean like humans do.🐾🌈☮️🇨🇦
@@dd11111 Give it a rest mate. You've peppered this comment throughout this thread. It's beginning to look like you have some sort of problem. As someone else has said, there is no good or bad in nature. There are some very attractive insects, including caterpillars pupating into beautiful butterflies. Do you hate your beloved little songbirds for killing and eating them?
What a repertoire The Mouth has! Some of his sounds reminded me of a Mockingbird that used to live in a tree next to my house a few years back - they are also amazing imitators of everything they hear (and like)!
@D you forgot ignorance and intolerance! They are no more "bullies" than a crow, bluejay, or seagulls..in fact, even the same species of birds will be "bullies" if food sources are limited.
Ha😊😊😊😊 Now I know what bird makes neighborhood sounds. Cat meows, TV news, conversations of humans, and random noises. When I kept hearing this, I was giddy. I knew we didn't have Mockingbirds in my area. This is Wicked Cool!!!!!!!
I'll start with this, if you like birds, you probably DON'T like starlings. The BEST description I can give is this. Cross the personality of fantasy goblins, with the real world effect locusts have on crops. Thats Starlings. 1. Starlings don't sing, they SCREECH. Sure this one proves they can be good mimmics but 99.999% of starlings just screech like a hich pitched crow. 2. They are bullies and cowards. When they are alone, they are cowardly and mind their manners, but if there are more than about 2, they turn into horrid bullies. I've seen them attack songbirds 1/5th their size just becuase they refuse to share space or food with anything that they can beat up or scare off. 3. You rarely see just 1 starling. Most of the time they turn up in groups of 5-10. Sometimes 20-30, immediately scare away everything else, and eat everything in sight in a couple of minutes! With their constant screeching, (seriously, look it up, it's a horriblie sound.) Then they leave in a big screeching swarm having eaten an ENTIRE DAY'S worth of birdfood in 5 minutes. TLDR: They are greedy bullies that make a horrible noise and have a horrible personality.
These are the sounds of the neighborhood the bird is cycling through. It does sound like a radio. I've sat outside and heard similar sounds. This is the coolest thing I've seen.
When I was a teen (12-15) I had a swing in the garden and on a morning I would swing away during summer listening to them on an early morning in summer tuning up like this. Then there must have been hundreds.
Singing for the shear joy of it. Reminds me of the song we sing in Chapel, "the joy of the Lord is my strength." This bird puts us all to shame as it sings unto the Lord a joyful noise.
So lovely!! We have starlings that sound mainly like the jackdaws and crows but will now and then give a few curlew and seagull cries. This was so adorable to watch!
Thank you so much for sharing videos of the Mouth. The range that this little fellow has is beyond amazing. I swear every once in a while I could hear him say the word ‘beep’
