- western sahara is 266,000 sqkm while Spain is over 500,000sqkm. They are not comparable in size! - I think it’s a big statement to call Southern provinces of Morocco (Western Sahara) the last colony of Africa. This is not factual and the opinion of only an independent movement fuelled by foreign powers. Southern provinces belonged to Morocco for centuries until Spain colonised this region for almost a century and left it without any economic development and left a political mess behind. Morocco developed massively the region with huge subsidies. It is provocative to call Morocco a coloniser when it suffered so much being colonised by France and Spain.
