I am from the US and a couple of years ago, my friend and I visited Algeria. Never been outside the US before, my friend wanted to stay and live in Algeria just a week after we had just arrived. Wherever we went, we found the Algerian people to be extremely friendly, kind and willing to go beyond the call of duty to invite us to have dinner (or lunch) at their home. Yes, Algerian are very Genuine, unlike in other countries in North Africa I've visited. The food is excellent, Gas is extremely cheap and the country is just beautiful especially around the Sahara. We were also able to visit several (at least 2 dozens) mosque without any prior permission and to be honest, nobody tried to convert us, but instead, talking about the religion and how Islam is important to them. While there, we realized that Algerian love to eat and in fact, they eat a lot but one thing I can definitely say about Algerian people, especially the ladies, they are very pretty and during our stay in Algiers, we didn't notice any overweight person even though you see them eating wherever you go. My friend wanted to stay and live in Algeria after getting to know the people and have seen the beautiful county but because he had an extremely important project to finish in the US, he decided to leave after a month and come back to the US and possibly go back to Algeria when he is ready to settle down. He made me promise to let him know when my next travel to this beautiful country (and people) of Algeria so he can come with me. I am not going to mention the name here but in another country (to the west of Algeria), I found people not to be genuine. As soon as you arrive in the other country (west of Algeria), people are running towards you and try to scam you, or beg for money and willing to do anything for that $$$. However, in Algeria, no one came running and try to scam us or beg for money. Upon our arrival in Algeria and at the customs, the customs informed us that our visa will not start till two days after our arrival to Algeria. Instead of sending us back to the US, and after less than 5 minutes of wait at the custom, the customs person came back to us, with our passport and informed us that they had given us a two-day visa so we can enter Algeria. Wow. Try entering the US with a visa two days before your visa date actually starts - You will be sent right where you came from (for non-Europeans people). This year, I am visiting Algeria again and hope to stay not 1 week, 1 month, but 3 months. I can't wait for I am missing the kindness of every Algerian, the excellent food, and the beautiful sceneries Algeria has. Do I want to see more tourists in Algeria? To be honest, NO. I want Algeria to continue to be beautiful because I know what tourism can do to a beautiful country - Destroy it. But since I know Algeria and the Algerians (read its history and got to know its people), Algerians will never let tourism destroy their beautiful country and hospitality. Anyone looking to travel to a North African county, I recommend Algeria to be the #1 country to visit first and I can guarantee you, you will not regret the decision of visiting Algeria and the beautiful Algerian people. By the way, don't forget to try the Algerian style couscous and accept an invitation to visit someone's home and enjoy their excellent food and company. Last but not least, when it comes to security in Algeria, I have never felt safer than in Algeria. Before I visited Algeria for the first time several years ago, I was told to avoid Algeria because of terrorism and things like that. I can tell you that I visited Algeria the same year I was warned and what I found was peace, kindness from everyone I met, hospitality and beauty. So always learn and experience Algeria for yourself and don't fall for the propaganda of the mainstream media about terrorism in Muslim countries. I haven't found any terrorism in Algeria. What I found was a very beautiful country with beautiful people and their religion, and out of this world food. Now, go pack your suitcase and travel to Algeria and see what I saw, eat what I ate, and enjoy what I've enjoyed while in Algeria - Bon Voyage.
thaaank you soo much for your feeling towards our country and you are very welcome again and again in algeria if you ever think about another visit to algeria i can invite you to my city just contact me
I'm from Morocco, I've been to Algeria last year, the country is so beautiful, people are nice and kind, I'll definitely visit it again. Salam to Algeria and its people
Im from Mauritania (neighbor country of Algeria and Morocco ) , and i can assure u that Algerian people are the most genuine and honest in the Arab and African world , these guys are amazingly kind and helpful and have great manners.
I love your country my brother I am in love with Mauritania you are beautiful people, so many great Maliki's came from Mauritania and so much beautiful culture.. We are brothers may Allah make our friendship closer and closer for eternity
Dude, I travelled a month through Algeria in 1990 - stayed exactly where you are in this video - and it is so good to see nothing has changed in Algeria. It was a truly special place. I felt beyond safe and welcome. Many shops woulds not take money for small items I may have bought (mostly food - croissants, pastries..etc), I was constantly being offered free accommodation by people I would meet, and during Ramadan I was always being invited to a family sundown supper. I had come to Algeria via Morocco. Morocco was a VERY different experience. Algeria will always be one of the greatest travelling experiences of my life. And my GOD - aren't the dunes there by that hotel stunning?? If you are still on the road - stay safe!
May be it's time to come back and realize how people are always kind and so helpful with the foreigners especially those who respect them. You'll be welcome again😃
All the things he says are completely true. I have visited this wonderful and spectacular country several times and I have checked this out thousands of times. God bless Algeria!!!
welcome in our country and especially Xeneizes...i am from Oran and if you want to come visiting the 2nd largest city in our country you're welcome !!!
I have traveled in both countries and I would like to talk about something that is very important and highly valued in everybody's personality. It is dignity. I have seen people in Algeria carry themselves in a dignified way, never demeaning themselves for a few dollars, never losing their pride about themselves even among the poor people that I had the chance to meet and talk to, Algerians are cool but in a noble and respectful way and I was really impressed with their attitude. I am afraid I have to say that in Morocco, things are different, people are looking to make a fast buck, as a tourist they almost always try to trick you into a deal that you don't want, they also offer you services that you are not interested in like escort girls, hashish... In terms of sightseeing, as it is said in the video, Algeria has better natural beauty and places to visit, untouched by the tourist hords. The smaller towns outside of the big cities are full of genuine people and have kept their character, mixing the modern with the traditional, the new with the old. I would like to go back to Algeria some day and go deeper into the desert, I was told it is a magnificent experience. Greetings to all Algerians.
thank you that's very nice of you, you are welcome here we wont let you put your hand in your pocket to pull money because we will take care of you and we don't want anything back we just want you to enjoy and take with you a good impression and that's how we are made of ..we are generous and you probably know that
Algeria is an advanced country and worth a visit to the world I am Omar from Qatar. I visited Jijel, Bejaia, Constantine, Oran and the capital and had wonderful times
morocco is more advanced than Algeria i visited both country end you can clearly see the difference both of them are poor compared to western Europe but there are richer compared to Africa
@@MJ-wi7oo if i were you I’d either go to Oran as I’ve lived there for 6 years they have the most nicest people or live somewhere close to the beach or sea
as an Algerian soldier, sir, it's our duty to guarantee your safety and make sure all the places are safe for you so you can get as much traveling pleasure as you can. you are welcome whatever your nationality or what you believe in is. thank you so much for the video sir.
I'v visited Algeria more than once, i'm very excited it's a big big country with a nicer people you can't find that nice people here in Norway, i'v visited the Sahara the Mediterranean Sea very wonderful, I was invited in people's houses meeting their families they gave me olive oil, honey.... just because they're nice not about tourism at all
This is the kind of tourists that we like to have in Algeria. If you are a genuine guy like this man, you will be welcome as a king in Algeria. However, if you are the sorte of arrogant tourists who think that they can buy everything with their money, then you may be mistreated in this country. You would be better to go somewhere else. A simple advice to whomever visits this country: Be humble and you will love the trip and the people.
@Anon Anon wow!i don't know what's your problem with the word racism you French people?wherever i read a comment by a French person the word racism is surely in the comment?you have paranoia of this word because you are actually the most racist people on earth especially towards Algerians.what a shame.
@Anon Anon you don't know what you are talking about , using all of this unecessary logical falacies while affirming the ideas in the video doesn't make your arguments stronger , it is funny and sad in the same time , very very sad indeed.
Algerian military forces do not interact with people, only in some exceptions. these military personals you have met are called " Gendarmerie ", they are also some kind of a police unit, but the difference is they focus on safety outside the cities and their entrances, while the normal policemen focus on the safety of citizens and their stuff. Welcome to Algeria! I'm glad that you liked it ❤️
i have met today in the streets of berlin one Algerian boy who asked me exactly same address that i was searching for and in the procces of finding it we talk a little bit and in the end i found out that he was quite sympathetic and nice guy but we did not change our contacts though he and me too probably wanted. and now i just googled algeria cause i wanted to see the country he is from. and it would be really funny if he did the same about Georgia. cause i am Georgian :) i rarly like guys like this. and we were speaking so much about other stuff that it was not important to ask the names so i even dont know his name.
You're living life to the fullest, I respect that, I traveled to Algeria and I fell in love .. Hope you've seen more of the magic in that wonderful country
I am Algerian and I am proud that you mentioned about us that we do not deceive and lie to visitors even if they are foreigners and non-Muslims, because our Islamic religion orders us to treat others well and not to fraud in transactions even though our Moroccan brothers are also good and respectful.
I visited algeria and marocco and what he say it's true in marocco they ask me money all the time in algeria they just talk with me and joke for fun not for ask me some thinks back. I must fought with them for paid they have à lot of pride.
I love Algeria a lot and i'm from Morocco I wish I was born in Algeria! but unlucky! xD I love my brothers and sisters from algeria and I love their national anthem as well :)
You are right about saying you are controlled in Algeria as a foreigner visiting. I am Canadian of Algerian origin and I miss Algeria but I can't go yet unfortunately due to visa issues. I hope they allow more visitors in the future
I have had a fascination with Algeria for a number of years. Thank you so much for sharing your perspective. You have given me more encouragement to plan a trip there. On the other hand, I am so very sad to here so many negative things about Morocco. I had originally planned to travel there.
Pam there is another video by the same person shows positive points and things of travelling to morocco too..try to watch it...hope u will have a Nice trip in my lovely country Algeria and in morocco too...salam.
@@brianbouf8303 it is about respect, not that he did not criticized the country, as long as someone respect the culture and not have ulterior motives then they are more than welcome and they would be treated as a brother
I know that Algeria is very secure and safe and police are everywhere but I am surprised that u said you've met the military on your way cuz I know that the military in Algeria don't get involve in the civilian life but my guess is what u saw was like the shirife in the States they wear a green uniform we call them les gendarmes they not military Ian happy that u enjoyed ur vacation in ma Bladi welcome back any time Algerian in chicago
+Tika yes indeed the force I met were Les Gendarmes in some occasions, in others were civilian police. I also heard from some locals the term "police militaire" so it might be a more slang term perhaps? Thanks for the feedback :)
The reason people seem nicer in our country Algeria, is because we don't expect a penny from Tourists as we never relied on tourism as a source of income. Moroccans and Tunisians will look a bit aggressive and harassing and that's understandable as they try to stay ahead of the competition.
@@tariktarik504 means in algeria tourism is not the main resource of income as morrocco or tunisia but he didnt say we are rich its like someone sell mobile and the other clothes
The real difference is that Morocco and Tunisia invest heavily in tourism since they do have some amazingly known places and accomodities that attract tourists. In the meantime Algerian government hadn't really invested much in the touristic industry due to the lack of infrastructure, their harsh weather and the instability of the 90's, so that's why seeing a tourist there could be quite rare, and that's why people there try to be the most welcoming cause they don't meet tourists in daily basis, so they sort of try to be nice and all to kind of reflect their culture...
“Traveling - it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.” - Ibn Battuta .thank you so much for your visit and u are welcomed any time 🙏 god bless u
Iam fond of algeria i worked as a medical doctor beteen 1980 and 1988 they are very friendly i love algeria and algerians great country great hosts god bless Algeria and algerians .
Thats actually my city, im from bou saada ... You have to try "Zviti" if you love spicy food its our official dish here in bou saada also visit "artisana center" its near the "kardada" hotel there is so many interesting things in artisana like the bousaadian knife...
Rc ProHunter thank you for your feedback :) Algeria is beautiful! I'll talk about the pluses of Morocco as well, but i must say, I liked Algeria more overall
Keep Expanding Next time visit the east of Algeria from Algeries to Annaba then constantine. You have to pass by Bejaia , Jijel, Skikda, then Annaba. You will be amazed.
RC ProHunter don't exagerate the beauty of Algeria. The guy from Portugal have seen both countries and mentioned the good and bad things about both countries. Let him tells us in his very fair way if Algeria is really amazing wich i doute. (and i'am Algerian).
As an Algerian I highly appreciate this video. Algeria is so underrated as a tourist attraction and many people either have no idea what Algeria is like or have a negative image of Algeria. Videos like this clear that image.
Algerian people are very nice ,and genuine .concerning the security control is for the safety of the peaple ,imagine a westerner is abducted or killed in Algeria this would give bad publicity for Algeria .that's why Algeria is very much concerned about safety and security. thank you for this video it was nice of you to show the real nice face of Algeria as lovely people and nice country.
I agree, the security measures are there to protect locals and tourists alike and should be appreciated by all. During the 1990s Algerians lived a security nightmare but today there are less terror incidents than in Europe, therefore we should appreciate the costly resources that are there to guarantee our safety and the safety of those who want to visit our country
oh! thats a pretty good video but i think you missed visiting the most beautiful places in Algeria the mountains of Kabylie in Tizi Ouzou and Bejaia & the beaches of Jijel! it is so awesome! hope you come back and see all of it
+Nidal Feddaoui thank you so much. I notice that these videos had a very polarized response, I've got some comments that were negative but constructive, some that were pretty disrespectful, unfortunately, but also a lot of good feedback like yours :) thank you
Keep Expanding No, you did a good job on the video 👏🏻 It's impossible to learn everything about a country when you just briefly visit it so it's understandable. Those that took offense did because of the provocative comments some people post but the video itself wasn't bad or anything. Also, the political situation between Morocco and Algeria is quite tense because of Western Sahara so when you put "vs" and compare them, the comment section always turn negative unfortunately. Which country are you visiting next?
ZES yes unfortunately i've had a few bad comments, but the great majority have been positive :) I'm travelling in South America at the moment. Hopefully i'll start posting more videos in September. Thank you for your feedback!
I have been in both, Algeria and Morocco. I would say Morocco is easier to be in for tourists. That's because the government has invested a lot in Tourism in the last decades. Morocco also hasn't had security issues that Algeria had in the 90s. Besides that, Algeria is better. Thanks for the video.
Algeria is a rich country, hence why the French didn't want to leave (till they got kicked out) so with that said they don't rely on tourism like the neighboring countries, there's no hassle, people are nice, very welcoming, it's a cultour there to invite visitors into thier homes, sometimes even some stores when they see you are a tourist they won't charge.... you
+Lonely Bird Morocco is made for the tourism all for tourism Algeria is naturally much beautiful , if the Algerian government works to made their country a door for tourism will be absolutely Magic
1-Lonely Bird khkhkh all ur comments are 💩 (shit) 2- no one hate Algeria all morrocans love Algerians and all Algerians love morrocans Just u who hate Algeria You are شاطئ😏
Algeria has a lot of problems but its people have better infrastructures (electricity, industry) than Morocco and there is less unequality. Morocco is far more corrupt and people have less access to education and health. According to Unaids there are 8000 HIV infected persons in Algeria and 33000 in Morocco. Also Algeria has more income due to natural resources like gas and oil, which motivated that its governments did not want to sell the country to tourists. It was a choice and this preserved the beauty of the natural landscapes that have nothing to envy of other regions like Morocco or the French Riviera. Also Algeria is an example of justice and solidarity with many people fighting for their rights against colonialism, like moroccan colonialism in the Western Sahara.
Before watching this video I was a little skeptical of what would be the differences you were going to mention, but, Man, you hit the nail right on the head, so to speak. Everything you mentioned is so true and accurate. I am a native of Algeria who immigrated to the USA many many years ago and live in California. I still love Morocco and our Moroccan friends and neighbors and your observations are right on the money, all of them. Thank you for sharing.
Great video, nicely done! I know Morocco well, I travelled in Algeria in the 1980's and always wanted to go back. I would like to go in my campervan 4x4, I'm interested in my research as to what you need to enter Algeria with a vehicle? Best Wishes
I gues it's easy! You just have to come by ship and the car must returns with you, that's it! But try to reach the Algerian embassy in your country, I'm sure they will help you out and don't leave this for tomorrow lol You're welcome!
Thank you for your feedback and you're welcome in Algeria. I hope you had a nice stay. It seems to me you didn't visit north eastern Algeria such as Jijel, Bejaia, Constantine (the oldest city in the Maghreb region) and Timghad, which are some of the most beautiful and historical regions. Unfortunately, you have a lot of people trolling negatively this video and I hope it doesn't alter your views on our country. Culturally and linguistically, were the countries similar ?
I want to inform you That in algeria the tourists are our invity, we have a dignity, we never accept that one tourist pay us because we show him the road... Never... 💪💪
Algerians are candids by nature they have a clear heart. They are not experienced as much as moroccans in tourism. Algeria has more places to see but they are inexploited.
come on bro, in Algeria even the cat welcomes you :) we love American the same way you do for Algeria. Algeria is the sleeping tourism giant and the Virgin beauty of Africa .... :)
@@lolad2077 of course you're free to drink but not in public places, you can drink at restaurants, bars ect.. You won't go to jail for being drunk as long as you don't commit a crime lol, it's just not well seen to drink for Muslims. Also you can find a lot of alcohol stores in the North
i really liked your video, i hope that you come back to algeria soon because it's a big country and there is a lot of places that you must visit like the wonderful caves of Jijel and bejaia

as an algerian. I welcome all of you and I am proud and happy of this video. thank you so much. we really love everyone and yes we definitely are genuine. thank you again and please come visit us. you guys will not regret. much love and respect. ❤❤👏
Algeria police and army don't ask for money and don't try to bribe them like in other countries and if you do, you'll be in deep trouble, these are people who fought for thier freedom against the French so it's a question if pride.
I'm an Algerian from the south and because our country is very big I usually travelled with my family and discover new cities but when I went outside, I was like why people are not nice and I have got scamed many times which made love my country more and more.
here in Algeria, you're on your own. go wherever you want and ejoy your stay. if you have someone who will guid you, they will not charge you money but they offer you whatever they have cuz they see you as a guest and treat you accordingly.
I m from Indonesia, come to visit Indonesia, Indonesia beautiful, nice, friendly. Famous the place for tourists like island Bali, lombok, Flores, raja ampat. Indonesia has as many islands 17.000 +, 700 regional languages
I don't know what your intentions are by uploading these videos, but Algerians are our brothers and sisters no matter what .And if they are good or bad ,it's because they are so. And everyone is responsible for his actions. and I repeat again Moroccans and Algerians are one nation. (From Agadir.Morocco)
You are right , it is the tourist that change the people and corrupt them,,,, the Algerians have not been corrupted by western bullshit values yet, I hope it stays that way.!.. viva Algeria.! I will visit one day.. God willing.!!
Youssef Ghechi I prefer the President Bouteflika on his wheelchair one thousand times than your traitor zionist family proxénète et vendeur de drogue king with his Andre azoulay !!!!! Tahyaaaaaaaaa EL Djazairrrrrrrr! !!!!!!

Thank you for your kind words about my people. We are more authentik because of our history and because We chose not to have mass tourism. We treat foreigner and travelers like we treat our own people : with respect and dignity.
Morocco tired from Hospitality , there are thousand of Tourists want only that you invite them to eat and sleep. When you give food you are nice but when they make you paye is not nice . Algeriens will know in the future ,
That’s not what he said.Algerians receive 2 millions tourists, more than a million refugees and migrants (including nearly 400k Moroccans) and all have mentioned the generosity and kindness of Algerians. It’s more than being hospitable for the sake of it, they are genuinely very kind.
@UCu_6cs7G4zUTZHzVwanrhfA 🤣 you’re sick my friend ....Morocco wasn’t taken over by Ottomans as opposed to Algeria. Before the ottomans Algerians looked more like Moroccans
Algeria is not a popular touristic destination, and hence it is still a virgin. This is a big advantage. You enjoy open nature tourism, no traders and sellers harassing you, no crooks trying to rip you off..... just visit beautiful places and enjoy it. Algeria has sea, green forests, snowy mountains where you can ski, and a breath taking golden desert.
