@@blue-j7412 Sort of. Morph was based on two very minor characters: A body double for Professor X named Changeling and a non shapeshifting D-List villain named Morph. The character was given the name Kevin Sydney for flavor text in the 90's cartoon and was meant to just be killed off in the pilot to show how high stakes the cartoon was going to be. Morph later gained popularity and along with One Man's Worth, got adapted into Age of the Apocalypse where Morph hand a more prominent backstory. Around the same time another Morph was added to the time traveling team consisting of multiverse variants of heroes and villains, EXiles. That version of Morph had an affliction that caused them to constantly shapeshift.
especially since it was later revealed that Morph has feelings for Wolverine, and they were probably sick of him being a sad sack about Jean all the time.
I remember Morph was like a James Woods type character but in this one he has a more spicy Eric Effiong acting. I guess all that time with Mr. Sinister really change him.
I think he's more flamboyant. After all, Morph did spend some time as an actor when he was sorting his head out. Mr Sinister really traumatised him. He even gave him a split personality, so he couldn't trust his own mind anymore. So he's got a lot going on up there.
I feel they developed him more. If you think about it a shapeshifter is gonna tend to be more open in sexuality and identity as they live different perspectives, different bodies. Instead of being the random OC he has more personality and they use the little they used him in the past to develop a more centered personality
