What if science could explain our spiritual experiences? In this video, I explore Rupert Sheldrake's revolutionary theory of Morphic Resonance and its powerful spiritual implications.
Morphic Resonance suggests that we are all connected through invisible fields that shape our behaviour, memories, and even evolution. This theory could be the missing link between science and spirituality, helping explain concepts like the collective unconscious, how practices like meditation benefit everyone, and why aspects of our consciousness might not be limited to our brains.
In this video, I explain Sheldrake's theory of Morphic Resonance, and then dive deep into its spiritual implications:
Could Morphic Resonance be proof of a collective consciousness?
Is memory stored outside the brain?
How does this theory connect us beyond just genetics and the physical world?
Could morphic fields support your spiritual journey?

ABOUT ME
My name’s Georgia - I’m currently studying an MSc in Consciousness, Spirituality and Transpersonal Psychology. As someone with a passion for both science and spirituality, I love to explore the ways in which these two seemingly distinct domains converge. My aim for this channel is to show that science and spirituality can beautifully co-exist and even complement one another. Specifically, I will explore how these two domains converge within the areas of the law of attraction/manifestation, consciousness, and the nature of reality.

This reminds of me idealism and Plato's universals. I would lean towards external conditions and biological limitations causing the repeating patterns without requiring any memory field.

I love Sheldrake and his morphic resonance theory. The closest thing to this at the organism level I'm aware of in current research is Michael Levin's experiments with the bio-electric fields of planaria - by manipulating the ion channels with current, he has been able to make planaria grow (and regrow) two heads & he has mentioned being able to change the heads target morphology to that of evolutionary ancestors. Personally I interpret the mechanism of action for morphic resonance to be something like organism scale conscious observation of the target 'collapses the wave function' and our unified field of global consciousness picks up on this, influencing future instances. I don't see it as 'points/selves with a field of morphic resonance', rather a 'unified substrate of consciousness influencing a point/field'. I enjoyed your video & explanations, good luck with your further research.

Big big "fan" of Sheldrake and Levin. Levin has an academic channel that he post all his lectures and talks, and it's mind blowing what he is achieving.

I always wondered how a stem cell knows how to grow into a bone or a heart, and even which direction to grow the bone. Bones don’t grow in random directions. How does the stem cell in the outside of a bone know to grow up or right or down?

The name Georgia is of Greek origin and means earth worker. Black can be an occupational surname given to or adopted by a cloth dyer who specialized in black dyes. It is said that the first family of Black were converted to Christianity by Paulinus, the head of the family being Prefect of Lincoln, about 628. They moved northward, however, and were well established in Scotland by 1175 A.D. Georgia, the name, has a rich history and is associated with royalty, as it was named after King George II of England. The name Georgia is also significant in the context of spirituality and symbolism. The name Georgia represents hard work, practicality, and determination. It is associated with the earth element, which symbolizes stability, grounding, and nurturing. In addition, the name Georgia has been associated with the Greek word “ergon,” which means “work” or “deed.” This further reinforces the idea that the name is associated with hard work and practicality. It is a name that represents someone who is willing to put in the effort to achieve their goals and make a difference in the world. 🙂😊😇

The great mind is intelligent and will bring beautiful thought-form systems into existence . Look at the plants and flowers that mimic the appearance of their predators. Or the fish that look like rocks. Octopus that camouflage into its environment, the stick bug… so much evidence of this

Would saying we are at all level antennas that receive and transmit information be a valid analogy to Morphic Resonance?

What do you think is the relationship between morphic fields and Body Dysmorphic Disorder?

Hey Georgia, great topic. I've personally have been going deep into this topic also, but at a Quantic level. I'm interpreting this theory by thinking of these morphic resonance as magnetic fields, but more focused on intention at each level of existence at a Quantic level. Let me know if you want to debate a dit 😊

is the morphic field something physical or like an idea ? is it like dna ? each gene is specific for its own thing like blue eyes and stuff .... just about the gene part it's what's forming each thing in our body including your shape but we just havent discovered what gene does what yet... i didnt do a master's degree or anything but it saddens me to realize that you might follow the idea of a man that lived in a time where science wasn't as developed. cause look the cartilage we know it's its own thing in the dna and it got multiple genes that can affect it. Skin is part of it, and the shape of us should be as well in the genes if we compare per example a flower and a human dna.. we should see it sometime in the future when we figure out what most genes do

Fanciful notion does not equal theory. Claims associated with morphic resonance have not been rigorously tested or observed under controlled conditions. Falsifiability Issues: If specific predictions cannot be made or tested by this fanciful notion, it's not a theory and cannot hold up to scientific scrutiny. Lack of Predictive Power: A valid scientific theory should be able to make accurate predictions. Morphic resonance has not consistently demonstrated the ability to do so in a reliable manner. Compare this to an actual theory, like general relativity for instance. General Relativity passes all the tests that give it theory status, while morphic resonance stands shoulder to shoulder with 10,000 myths built in the wonderful world of imagination.
