Thank you for your unbiased review. I was already afraid that the menu diving would be cumbersome/nono-intuitive. But the Dreadbox filter! Man that's all worth it, isn't it?
I love this whole "poor man's Polybrute" kind of thing, great job for proving that any digitally controllable synth can morph between two patches and the result is certainly impressive.
Looks like a very nice portable set-up... Great warm sound from the Nymphes. Need to dig into the iPad app world. Will look at your other videos to find out more... Thanks!
Cracking jam, Pete! Good stuff. I was lucky enough to get one of these for Christmas and I'm very impressed. The interface certainly takes some getting used to but I'm getting there. Weirdly, I think the fact that using the shift and menu functions is unavailable - even for simple sounds - that you have no choice but to get used to it quickly, It's definitely tricky at first, but I quite like the process now I'm more used to it.
@@PeteMidi Yeah indeed. I certainly wouldn't recommend it to someone for their first anologue synth. Learning about synthesis and the interface at the same time would lead to sleepless nights!
Great video! Couldn't really find in the description how you did the setup/connections. How did you connect the nymphes to the ipad? via the iPad camera connector(for midi)? And if so, did you also power it from there? Dankeschoen!
Many thanks! Yes, I use a usb mini hub which also powers the ipad. For the Nymphes I use one of these usb split adapters which has a separate usb power port.
Hi sir, excellent video. I have the impression that morph board is not for sale at the moment in the ios app store. Would it be something like midi designer pro 2? FYI to tame my Nymphes I mapped all the controls of my Minilab 3, that really made it more usable!

Sounds excellent. For clarity, does lemur let you have two patches (or midi states) saved so what you are doing is morphing (changing the parameter settings in midi) from one patch to another? The polybrute had me thinking about how to do this with other synths with midi control.. does the lemur app just in general have this functionality where you configure midi ccs to sliders and it duplicates them for the second patch and you just say the midi states?
Wooo, Pete! Great jams! It’s good to see you take on this too. I see a lot of comparisons to the Juno most likely due to similarities in the architectures. What do you think about this? Is it even in the same league? Like the Juno is basically one big “sweet spot,” which makes it feel like a true instrument IMO, is this similar? Great work as always!
Do you happen to still own this? How does the pure sound compare to a prophet, same levels and pres etc? 2 of these is extremely attractive as mult/stereo/stack poly... Seems to sound better than most other current analog polys, single osc aside.
Still have the Nymphes and love the dark sounds with sub. osc. The modulation possibilities are far above the Pro-800 or prophet 5 but the user interface... The pro(phet) sounds are really different, difficult to compare
@@PeteMidi Thanks for taking the time to answer. It seems to be compared only to Junos as a sound-a-like but not a lot of sounds with other polys, be it music clips or shootouts. The sound demos of it isolated are amazing though. More wondering how it sounds with/against a prophet, I use Repro and Pro-1. This would fit on top of Nord Lead 4 in my desk keyboard tray and still be able to make minor adjustments to parameters while the tray is pushed under the desk.
it's weird but I am still not convinced about it sonically, though your approach to unleash those modulation possibilities is highly appreaciated, good work
