@@silverblade357 yeah, pretty much all bards are killers or spies at some extent,so they always lie to get to their target closer-thus,talk is cheap.it's not about killing,it's about lying as a bard makes a habit,a habit so she would lie to warden
i love how oghren called my warden ugly, all the others called him handsome, but he was really ugly, not SO ugly, just a little and somehow sexy, he looked like John Marston.
their character development somewhat reverse in DA:I Morrigan from cynical and cold person to a caring and loving mother (if she had Kieran) While Leliana change from somewhat innocent and cheerful Chantry sister to a very cold-blooded person due to her loss not that I don't like it, I very much love it in fact so watching this really make me feel nostalgic XD
Leliana more or less became a hybrid of who she was with marjalene(I forget how to spell it) and the Chantry Sister life she tried to lead. She eventually figured out she was lying to herself about simply leaving it all behind and came to terms with who she really was. Caring and loyal to her friends and ruthless and borderline merciless to her enemies.
I kinda like to think she was always like she is in inquisition but she put on the chantry sister act for our benefit then later on stopped pretending when it was no longer necessary. She is a bard after all.
Zura ja nai I feel like when you have a child. You do have to change because being cold and what not, doesn't mean its the best. I think Morrigan slowly changed over time as well as Liliana. After it has been some time since Dragon Age Origins. Experiences change people. I think thats what has happened.
Matthew St. Cyr But being blatantly asked that question would have stopped her in her tracks, force her to think of an answer, and hesitation would have costed her the bout
I'm pretty sure Leliana told a story about a woman loving a common man over a deity once, so I don't think Morrigan comparing the Warden to the Maker would be far off as an argument.
My Warden would do it with Zevran hilarously laughing while saying burning joke to the ladies. The ladies do not like you being with Zevran any more than themselves. Especially, Morigan.
I read that if you hardened Leliana and have her and Zevran with you, choose the option to "get to know" that redhead in The Pearl and you can have a foursome. You can apparently also have sex with one of those female demons if you're a mage and go into The Fade yourself.
Warden: "And then I said to her, Nonono, I think the fact that you were raised in swamp makes you **snickers** APPEALING! HAHAAHAHA~" Zevran: "HAHAHA! Marvelous fun!"
No other Dragon Age game even comes close to having dialogue like this. In fact, most games lack the humour and wit present in most of this game's dialogues. I remember walking around randomly in the city just to hear the squad members talk to each other. No other game ever made me do that.
@@SeventhheavenDK They were locations for which they may trigger yes, but the actual content of the banter could be either specific to a location (Remark by one companion leading to a conversation) Or random depending on current circumstance. It made the characters more real and less of an NPC Shell that walks around and speaks only when spoken to.
I actually disagree with this. While DA:O remains my favourite in the franchise, and has my favourite party members and story of all 3, I've always found the dialogue between party members to be a solid and consistent strong point for Dragon Age games. It's the one thing I can trust them with to knock out of the park. Each game has memorable and well written interaction between characters, and to a similar level I think.
And I love how 10 years later Morrigan and Warden get married and she's genuinely a good wife but Leliana (even if she's still with him/her) becomes this dark and bitter persona of a spy master and stays that way unless Inquisitor convinces her to be more compassionate It's like they become each others opposites when they get older
Well a lot has happened in 10yrs but really it’s because she lost a lot of people she held dear to her. First there was Marjolaine betrayal that resulted in her friends capture, torture, and death(s) that has also seen her critically wounded. Then the next is dependent on the events of the 5th blight particularly if both Alistair and the Hero of Fereldan survive after the battle with the arch demon or not. Finally there’s the White Circle incident that resulted in Wynne’s death. All of this before the events of DAI. The final nail was the Divine Justinea’s (mother Dorothea) death at the hands of Corypheus and to a certain extent Solas. I would say she would’ve broken down and became bitter for that’s a long list of friends she does care about who’ve died because of either her mistakes, a blight that wasn’t technically found by the dark spawn, and the cruelty of both Templars and Seekers.
@@noway6633 I disagree. Is it as good as origins? Nope. But no dragon age game will ever surpass origins. Inquisition has its own charm. People need to get over the fact that DA2 and inquisition aren't the same as origins.
Mmmh, I must ask you what u mean with repetitive, 'cause sometimes I feel the same but I Can't explain why. I mean, it' s hard. You wanna play in Nightmare? So okay you must know u have to do everything for being stronger as you can. But this feeling about something like a routine... What is that?
Admail Tank damn right man. I mean in other games there ARE other companion females that are beautiful no doubt about that, but in Origins Leliana and Morigan are the top female that are hot in Dragon Age Origins.
I wouldn't put Dragon Age 2 in this comparison. It might be badly flawed, but as an RPG it's still twice as good as Inquisition (except for its epilogue which was actually pretty good) and Andromeda.
The game play of Inquisition in my opinion is far superior to Origins. However I have only played through Inquisition 2x, where as I have done Origins.... Idk 20-30 times unmodded. The reason I would rather play Origins then Inquisition is the characters. They have basically the same character styles, the classic barbarian. Ohgren, and Iron Bull. The bard, Leliana and Varric, etc. However for me the Origins characters are way better and I felt more stake in my character. For example my favorite Origin is the human Noble. There is more then just oh I am a Grey Warden and I need to save the world. There is personal vengeance in this. I am doing this to avenge my father and mother Howe you bastard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where as I play a human Noble in Inqusition..... What is my last name again? And why am I here besides not wanting the world to end? Which yes the Inquisitor has a larger threat. But I never felt as connected to the Inquisitor compared to my Cousland.
Inquisition's gameplay was so tedious I barely made it through the game once, and that was with mods and a cheeze OP build to just smash through it. Its pretty clear the game systems were designed for multiplayer (which is what Inquisition started life as), because the AI is just not smart enough to make use of abilities like positioning to shoot from high ground, and the "tactical" command system was so rudimentary, unreliable, and poorly designed that it was basically useless most of the time. Despite nearly ten years of time passing since DAO, they managed to make a combat system worse in also every way aside from visual bling. I've played Origins close to 20 times, and DA2 five times, but I barely dragged myself through Inquisition once just to see the story, and I was relieved when it was over. Aside from the story (which is just okay), Inquisition is a boring, tedious grind that doesn't respect the player's time at all.
I can easily picture Allistair going "the girls are fighting!" anytime one of these banters plays out. And just about the entire party minus Sten and Wynne are trying to escalate it further so they can see Morrigan and Leliana throw hands 😆
For being a catfight between an Orlesian Bard/Assassin and a Witch of the Wilds, I'm surprised the politeness they have... I was expecting half Denerim burned, at least.
The actress who voices Liliana is good as well. The only thing that is unfortunate is that they couldn't find a good voice actor who could've voiced the main protagonist, as we had in both the 2nd and 3rd installment.
People complain because they love games. It's just like everything else in life. If a book or a movie sequel is turned into something else you criticise it. People complain even when something isn't exactly bad but changed (Metallica) and that's bad, I agree. However when something is changed for the worse the criticism is welcomed. Dragon Age 2, for an example, feels like a spin-off rather than a real sequel. Don't get me wrong. DA2 is a very good action game and I liked it. Played through it twice. However it is a far cry from DA: O. It was dumbed down and rather than feeling like a RPG game it felt like an action game with household management. DA: I, while again a good game, felt more like a singleplayer MMORPG rather than a real choice-driven-make-your-own-adventure kind of RPG. If a person thinks that complaining about games is bad then I don't belive (s)he truelly loves games. Shadow of War was a joke because of lootboxes and because of the complaints the developers who defended the boxes as "player choice" finally admitted that lootboxes drastically changed how the game played and changed it for the worse. They finally removed lootboxes from the game and patched it for the better. This is just one of the examples of how critcism and complaining has changed gaming for the better.
Holy shit. That is fantastic. I wonder- do any other characters fight like this ? I always play a girl romancing Alistair, even though the bastard broke up with me. And if you have a thing with zeveran you can tell him you want alistair and he tells you it's fine. He thinks you're a great couple lol. What a bastard too. And Wayne likes to tell you you arnt enough for Alistair - that you'll break up. Leliana still tries to flirt with you.
Make sure to harden Alistair's personality next time if you don't want him to break up with you. It may not be your own personal philosophy, but you must tell him "Everyone is in it for themselves," during one of the conversations in camp when you're consoling him right after his sister disowns him. It's a life changing moment for him and he'll be a more responsible king in the epilogue if you do that as well.
J3SS3 H it's more because I either play a mage or an elf. Lol. And you have to be noble born to marry Alistair when he's king. Other wise to stay with him you can either deny him being king and he gets mad , but you stay as grey wardens and in DAI you have to chose between Hawke or Alistair. Or you can be his mistress , which I think is fucked 😂
Lexa ah I see then. Well I personally think it's better to make that compromise and stay his lover while he rules Ferelden. Besides, he doesn't marry Anora or anyone else if you make him rule by himself. You'd essentially be his queen in every way except in the name itself. Being an actual monarch sounds overrated anyways.
I was too my first run with my dwarf. But only because I missed a line of dialogue with Leliana that closed the romance line forever. Its okay, she fell in good and hard with my elf healer next run through.
Say anything about bioware today. They deserve everything and more. But once upon a time, they were awesome. DA:O is in my opinion, best game made by the bioware and last true rpg made by them. It is still one of my favorite RPG experiences.
DA:O bored me to death. Both the world and characters are derivative and uninspired. Replace dark spawn with orcs (don't even have to try hard, they look and behave just like LOTR's orc) and you get your usual fantasy story. The main antagonist, that isn't even a character, but more of a force of nature representing THE EVIL, is exposed at the start of the game and gets no development whatsoever. The hero slays the dragon, just as you knew he would when you started the game. The end. I much preferred DAII that at least had its own style and character, and a more or less original story of a nobody carving out his place in an alien city. And whoever says that these characters and their banter are the peak of RPG - I can only assume they don't have much to compare it with.
Then they have to think of intelligent (maybe even intellectual) adults playing their game... which would be great but idk... I am quite scared of how gaming industry developed in the past 12 years
@@ayf1983 Especially with Morrigan acknowledging that both she and Leliana are competing for who can be a better lover to the Warden. Never played Origins that much, but if they were to release a game like that today... It would sell millions of copies, and the vast fucking majority would love it as a breath of fresh air. Sadly a few loudmouth snowflakes would also hate on it. Ah well so what. I really wish they'd do something like that. Inquisition was a great game, but still a step into the wrong direction.
@@TheStraightestWhitest closest thing on inquisition is the banter when you break up with someone, romance someone else, and then bring them both. Kinda hilarious ngl, specially the comments between Sera and Iron Bull when you stay with Sera after breaking up with Bull, absolutely golden
waah I've coincidentally started up another playthrough on DAO few days ago. Kinda awesome knowing others still revisit the masterpiece that is DAO as well. Also CouslandxMorrigan and MaharielxLeliana I prefer some romances with certain origins for some reason. just headcanon stuff lol But if I had to choose TEAM LELIANA all the way
Saying that your rival in the love triangle “squeals like a Genlock being killed” to their face in a public place Now that is soldiering The rival taking it as a compliment Now that is soldiering with Major Sharpe
Come on girls. You really should not be fighting each other - instead you should team up and teach that two-timing asshat of a Warden how to play with your emotions. It's him you should be angry at, not each other!
How am i a hypocrite, dumbass? If you are gonna quote me, at least quote the parts you need. I wouldn't be okay, but if it was someone being honestly emotionally confused i would understand. I would of course do it differently. Evidently you are so self centered, you can't consider the other person's feelings. Besides both of them know it's happening. So they are not being two timed. Confronting him is what they should do and answering my two questions is what you should do instead of avoiding them.
Calm down dude, it was a light-hearted comment about two fictional characters. :') Reaaally no need to start name-calling. (And I always go for Leliana. Always.
@Zakku Their lead game designers literally said this too. Also don't hate on Inquisitions before watching this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CQ69f6fe8EU.html
TeamMorrigan: "Why would the Warden choose Leliana?!" The Warden: "I didn't want to get between Morrigan and Sten. I've heard her trying to get his attention."
@@GenericUsername-qp1ww in an alternate universe where this game that started development pre-EA aquisition actually launch without it too, maybe. Try going through the credits and you'll see just how few of those that worked on this are still there. It's bioware in name only.
Yeah, Morrigan's jealousy is specifically emotional. When she says that she has no designs on your independence, she means physically. You can be sexually unfaithful to her and she doesn't mind, you can even bang that Dalish elf teenage red head right in front of her and she doesn't give you any flak. You can go to the brothel with her and pick out a whore with her watching, and she doesn't mind. But the moment you form an emotional connection with someone else she is outraged. I had the jealousy conversation trigger from her when I had simply been being nice to Leliana and not done anything physical. When Leliana tried to step things up from there I told her that I'm happy to have such a great friend in her. Yeah, I friend zoned Leliana, and Morrigan still got jealous. Side note, Leliana did not take the friend zone hint, and kept acting like she was my girlfriend, even at end game telling me that wherever in the world I was, that's where she wanted to be. It makes her strangely creepy.
Similar things happened to me more than once in this game. They put romance triggers on some dialogues that i think they meant to be subtle, but to me, it was really out of the blue XD
I recall first time i ever played dao i did not realize i had some how romanced leliana and alistar when all i was trying to do was go for zevran i was left very confused and creeped out by leliana acting like a crazy ex who couldnt take a hint
Leliana *is* creepy. She is a murderous, religious nut who talks a lot about peace, but does not hold herself accountable to the ideals she preaches. She is a spy, a murderer and a blackmailer. That she would not take a hint is entirely fitting.
I had the ps3 version. But this version looks vastly superior. Im fairly certain they didnt remake the game or give it an HD port. Is this the power of the PC Master Race?
I am with you on this one, Team Leliana ALL THE WAY! Not even bothered by Morrigan, even more after the badass Spymaster Leliana becomes and if you play it right... We get the Divine as our wife 😎
I specifically remember watching my dad play the game once and getting genuinely confused and annoyed when he was trying to romance Leliana and she was accusing him of cheating on her w/ Morrigan 😂 Ah memories
*Deleted Plot-Twist:* It turns out all this love they believed the Warden had for them was actually geared towards his Dog. They just happened to be standing nearby when he was praising how good his dog was.
You think a goody goody like my main would pick Lilianna right? Nope. I fell for Morighan. Breaking her icy layer around her heart open to get her warmed and to truly love? I'm a sucked for bad girls I can turn.
Likely so they didnt have to right even more lines that wouldn't get used if your Warden romanced someone else. Thoguh I believe at one point there is a dialogue that allows you to ask about the Warden if you did romance her in Origins.
What I like about DOA is that the party is basically a bunch of gifted/talented children roaming around the world doing heck all and eventually saves the world.
This is heavenly. The bars were hard. "You have nothing else to offer"? "Just know there will be moments when he is thinking of me"? Damn this is good dialogue
