Got to agree on the skipping, I miss it too. Petition to have a day of the week where skipping must occur. All other days as an optional extra. The world needs a bit more whimsy in it these days. Impeccable style by the way 👌
This made me smile and calmed my nerves, lovely ❣️Thanks Jim, I live in apple country here in the states and cider and folk dancing are also a tradition!!
You know, i just wanted to thank you. I have been preparing for my exams and the whole spring was just Hell full of stress and endless studying. Your videos seriously helped me keeping myself at least a bit at peace, because your voice is so soothing. Idk, i just felt the need to thank you. I hope you will obtain great popularity.
The world needs more nights full of morris dances and such, I think, to bring us all back together a little bit. They really were quite enjoyable. When I was young I used to think country dances were lame and embarrassing - I’d love it now! Ahhh the hindsight of age … *sigh* Awesome vid as always Jim 💙💙
Just pretend that Jim is actually a theatre actor who just likes to do quiet relaxing "face to face" videos on RU-vid. It makes sense, since this guy is excellent at acting, for 1: his diction, delivery and flow are top level, ;for 2: because it's all done in 1 take, like a play; and for 3: because his characters are different but they all have a point.
You know Jim with all the cider you've offered me I don't know if I dance well I feel a bit dizzy 😂 anyway, thank you very much for teaching me this beautiful dance, I've also seen videos about it. Wonderful video it was very pleasant to listen to the fire in the background and the bell, very good ❤❤❤
i think i've seen that maypole dancing thing in a show, ribbons attached to a pole??? it looked fun, maybe if i have money to travel one day i'll see if i can do it :P
Practicing light paganism and sipping hard cider. Thanks! Does that imply medium and heavy paganism and cider too? Practice does make perfect. Do you also know the Dark Morris dance, the one performed at All Hallows Eve? Do you have the silent octarine bells? Both dances must be performed to maintain balance to the world.
I did think that I had wandered into a Wicker Man-type predicament, I'm very glad you say it isn't such. But then again... Maybe I should pause my comment until the end of this little journey to be sure I am not going to be toasted inside a giant wicker sheep.
I was just wondering if you had done any Morris dancing videos. I am absolutely *loving* this one🌻🌟🍎🍏🐏🐑 Is that genuinely it? No knee lifts? (In my region the recreationists seem to lift knees, or is it my misperception? ) We did folk and country dncing when I was young (not in Britain, tho.) I don't remember Morris Dancing per se, but, I have known about Morris dancing for quite awhile now.
I know you said we're not doing a Wicker Man thing, but can we still sing Sumer is icumen in? COME ON, EVERYBODY, ALL TOGETHER NOW--SUMER IS ICUMEN IN, LOUDLY SING, CUCKOO~
Traditions like morris dancing have slowly been phased out over the centuries in English culture largely by the monarchy which is unfortunate since these traditions are great for the lower class to keep in touch with their heritage
