Morris Day and The Time performing live at the Taste of Minnesota festival in his hometown of Minneapolis. Jimmy Jam/Terry Lewis/Jerome showed up too! Cheerio!
@@bufordteejustice1119it's rare, trust me, they don't use instruments these days, everything is programmed, concerts aren't interesting, everybody wants to be solo artists bands almost non existent, so we don't get artists who strictly work with a band, music production today is mostly digital, I'd rather hear instruments, thank God I have passion for jazz cause that's the only time I get to hear real music, even country music has been washed down, so yeah musicianship is rare
I love me some Morris Day, and The Time! They are so very, very, very talented. They are icons. I loved that they played tribute to the one and only Prince Rogers Nelson! God bless them! God bless everyone! 🙏💜
Their version of DMSR sounds as good as The Revolution. They've always brought together the best musicians and after all these years, the band still sounds excellent.
Absolutely love Morris Day and the Time...I always see them when they come to Detroit. They are a generational talent....I had heard Morris Day will be retiring from performing after this year but will be involved in producing other artists.
The fact that 5/7 of the OG Time members are up there is cool enough. They're having a good time. I think Monte Moir (keyboards) is retired and Jesse Johnson (guitar) has already expressed his feelings on why he doesn't want to be a part of it. I'm glad Jesse is still out there playing and performing. Thanks for posting this.
I thought Jesse would change his mind and perform with them again, but he must have really meant it when he said he was done with The Time. It would be COOL to see Jesse occasionally show up as a surprise guest performer.
I wonder is it because Monte & Jesse & Jelly Bean weren’t performing at Soul Train Awards a while back when Morris & Jimmy & Terry were all honored! Morris , Jimmy, Terry & Jerome all perform together! Leaving out 3 of the classic 7 !
Yes, fans want it but it's not going to happen. The Original 7 album and shows they did during that time was the last time they played together. Jesse said he's not coming back and he meant it.
So good seeing Jam and Lewis hanging out and performing with the band! All great musicians! I miss Jesse Johnson and many of the other original members. The new band is awesome as well!
Man I loved these guys back in the day. I still remember the first video I saw of theirs was Ice Cream Castles on MTV and I was hooked. It just got better from there. I'm glad they're still making music.
Even though we now know that the first two Time albums were mostly played and sung by Morris Day and Prince (RIP), seeing those early TV & video performances of the original stage band (Morris, Jesse Johnson, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, Monte Moir, and Jerome Benton) was a huge inspiration on me wanting to learn to play guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, drums, drum machines, and synthesizers...and I eventually did learn to play and use them all. Thanks 2 you all.
Man i wish i was there literally one of my biggest dreams is to go watch Morris Day & The Time perform someday I never got a chance to see Prince in a concert cuz I couldn’t afford it so my only hope is to see Morris Day at least hopefully they can do a concert here in LA that’ll be the only way I can watch them😭😭💜💜
watching this made me emotional asf again the realization prince is no longer here. i always imagine prince would be 99 still on stage with his guitar. i wish jesse would get it 2gether and make some appearances with them
@@Beverlyleslie20 i’m totally with you on the Jesse statement. The dude can totally shred, but he never comes seems to want to tour much? Still love him, but I don’t get it?
@philsathrill1285 I appreciate your effort to record the show and share it. I never mind seeing a bit of what the fans that are together in a crowd for good music look like.
Them in the back on the Bird would have been kicked off if Prince was here, when you on his stage it better be to enjoy every minute of it, the new generation don't understand real live performances, bands don't really exist in their world.
@philsathrill1285 I didn't mind seeing the audience. About my age (53) on average and mixed by race. This music was bringing people together in the 80's and still does.
