Bullet proof engines on these motors. I had a 1959 Morris J2 in the seventies and toured all over Germany with the family. It was a column change gearbox. The only ongoing problem was that the starter would get stuck sometimes so I had a handy little hammer and just used to lift the lid and give the starter a bash and away it went. I still have a pukka British Leyland workshop manual in the loft for the J2. My model had a 1459cc engine, I think the one above had a 1622 engine. Lovely reliable vehicle all round and easy to work on.

Very rare vehicle learnt to drive in UK in one had to remember not to park close at front as sometimes could not engage reverse think they were mostly government use have not seen one for at least 40 year's
Thanks - I don't think I've ever seen one before, although quite a few were apparently imported to Australia in "Complete Knock Down" form and then assembled here.
Yes...these sold well in Australia, but they mostly disappeared by the end of the 1970s (although, I wager that many lie dormant - waiting to spring into action like this beauty!)
