Morris cold weather starting trick that works with non key operated starters. Turn on ignition until pump stops clicking. Turn off ignition, pull choke, use pull starter knob to spin engine over for 3-4 seconds. Then turn on ignition. Car will usually start and run without multiple attempts due to the inertia starter being thrown out of engagement when first cylinder fires but engine does not continue to run. For later cars with key operated starter one would have to operate starter with the rubber button on the starter relay under the hood.
I’ve got a 4 door 1954 saloon with a later 1098cc engine fitted by a previous owner. He also changed the gearbox which unfortunately has a top speed of 40mph. Must get a replacement sometime.
Very cool! I’ll hopefully be buying one towards the end of the year. Have you put an alternator conversion kit in or are you still using the original thing? Beautiful old car!
@@AdamParysWhite Great! Good to see your still using the Dynamo and not had issues, I'd say your winters are a bit more harsh than mine where I'm located in New Zealand, so might not have any issues.
I just pull it all the way out when its that cold but I think I'm running a bit rich anyway, when I use too much choke its runs bad haha. Yeah absolutely fine up hills when it's cold, not noticed any issues!
