Morris Minor rear leaf spring and bush refurbishment on my 1961 Morris Minor Traveller.
Concluding the 3 part suspension refresh on my minor, I set about changing the rear bushes to poly bushes and then decide to strip and refresh the leaf springs. Well, why not?
Replacement bushes are the Comfort polyurethane bushes from Polybush.
Rust treatment was a mix of
Rustins Rust Converter
ZG-90 anti-rust spray paint with primer
Nitromors Rust Control paint
This is another first for me, but I'm pleased with the results.
Please remember, I am not a trained mechanic, and what I do may not be the best / correct way but works for me. Videos are made as a guide of how I did it rather than a bible for others to follow.
Thanks for watching.

I've been really enjoying your Videos! I have a '67 Traveller here in Ipswich, MA and getting ready to do many of these same maintenance tasks, including this one. Two questions: 1) Since the rear suspension needs to be in 'droop' when you're taking it apart, I'm assuming that your jack stand is supporting the car just behind the rear shackle? and the trolley jack is then just supporting the weight of the axle while you disassemble? 2) On reassembly of the leafs, did you put down a layer of grease between each one? I think the leafs are suppose to slide by each other...? Great work!

Hi, and thank you for your kind words. The car was supported on the cross member, and the jack was just to support the axle itself. I didn't grease between the leaves. Grease attracts road debris and would, in turn, cause more wear. Instead, I painted the leaves with a zinc paint. There is a lot of conflicting info out there, some even use building DPC material between the leaves and I also read that a leather wrap was used. I found the Land Rover community a great help with the leaves and decided in the end to paint and reassemble. Hope that helps?
