In its first two weeks, the Town of Morrison's new automated radar camera issued more than 10,000 tickets to speeding drivers, according to Morrison Police Chief Bill Vinelli.
EXITING the town, >$400,000 in two weeks. RIGHT, for safety... not like you're speeding through town, but when you already were respectful and went slow, no businesses remain no pedestrians... that's where the ticket sign goes ??
Does it matter? Seriously, advance notice and a 10 mph leeway seem to be the courtesy you need to provide regardless of where you locate the camera. The biggest problem I see is zones that drop from, say, 60 mph to 35mph in only 100 yards, I would consider a camera placed there as unfair. But in places where the speed limit is consistent, no problem.
@@bryanc2262 we get taxed to oblivion for our 14th amendment (right to travel) license (owned by state, paid for by citizen = tax) registration (tag owned by state, paid for by citizen = tax) gas ... it's taxed. I paid taxes on my vehicle when I purchased it... so you are condoning relinquishing your right to free travel ... since you're ok getting taxed 4 or more times prior to a speed trap ticket machine sending you an automated tax for "crime" that has no victim... (reeeeee) let's send the $400,000 over to Ukraine just for shits and giggles??
If there's that many people speeding, it's clear that the speed is not particularly dangerous. Thus the speed limit is NOT justified. It is a speed trap.
Maybe they should put in road designs that FORCE drivers to slow down, like speed humps and such. Relying on people to pay attention to a sign is never going to work.
If it was for “safety” it would placed on your way into town where tourist are j-walking. It is placed on your way out of town where the limit jumps to 40 mph a few hundred feet beyond the camera.
@@RenSam22wonder how many accidents happen with injuries on that 25mph road? You wouldn't wonder because you are a statist and incapable of critical thinking. Good slave, don't ever question the status qou
Well, here’s the deal. I’m glad that they’re cracking down on speeders in Morrison, but here’s the law. You do not have to pay that ticket unless they sheriff comes to your door and serves you with a ticket summons because that radar does not allow you to confront your accuser, which is your right under the law, you have no way of disputing that you have no way of talking and seeing when that machine was calibrated you have no way to talk to a human being so by law, you don’t have to pay that ticket unless a sheriff summons you and then you have a right to defend yourself in court because there is no way to confront your accuser
Lol it's not for the money. Bs.... that's why you put them up..want to stop speeding put them in jail 1 or 2 days see what works best now we see who speeds ...it's for the money
