I thought I'd *hate* it. I'm a total Joni fanboy, and know almost nothing about Morrisey (yeah, yeah - The Smiths, blah, blah, blah). How could a *man* even think about covering this song? Impossible. From the opening strains - awestruck. It's not even over yet, and I'm misty eyed. Such a respectful, amazing homage... I stand correct. I sit... *amazed* Bravo, sir.

A LETTER TO MORRISSEY Dear Moz's fans brothers, please, make somehow this letter be shown to Morrissey. I'm André Aquino from Brazil, Pernambuco, Parnamirim. I am a big fan of his since I was a 15-year-old boy. I was born on the 22th of may. Same day of birth as his. Now i'm a 21-year-old boy. Morrisssey and what he represents, produces in the camp of arts and is means almost everything to me. Our Moz is, as Bono Vox said in the documentary The Importance Of Being Morrissey, "an original of the species". Therefore, he must be studied. I am at the university now coursing Letras Português-Inglês. Well, I just would like to say that my undergraduate thesis will be about him. I'm still at the forth period of the university from eight of them 'til the presentation of my undergraduate thesis. I'm still thinking of the title it will have. Anyway, it will be about his importance and incommensurable contribution for not only the UK culture, but the global culture. Hope you really make this message reach him. I literally had this on repeat for 3 hours. Gorgeous.

This version is absolutely gorgeous. It may be one of Morrissey's most beautiful vocals and arrangements ever. It reminds me of This Night Has Opened My Eyes a little. Or at least that vibe anyway.
