That hour was worth years. Silly-high-haired-free-spirited Morrissey, coupled with high energy-rock-a-Billy goodness. Brilliant! I'm so lucky to have been a teenager in the 80s and 90s,. I hope i can still hear the music of my favorites when I'm dead. It's kept me here all this time. It was nice to have Morrissey on my side as i made my way through my closeted days. Vegan for about 37 years now and Meat is murder led me to him. He is an intelligent , poetic, beautiful man, and always will be..
I've watched this entire show over and over since the VHS days, rotating "Live in Dallas" and "Hulmerist" for years on end. I had the privilege of seeing Morrissey live in Las Vegas one week ago, and of course it was amazing. It is great to see Alain back up on stage with Morrissey, and the new songs were stunning. I never expected to hear "The Loop" and "Our Frank" live again, two truly priceless gifts for those of us who have spent decades with his music. All I can say is THANK YOU!
I went to this concert with JT Jennifer Tricoff. This was my first-time I had ever heard Morrissey. Now that we have you tube it like a front row seat for free.
I love the dog whistle at the end: “I’d like to say thank you to everyone. But a special thank you to the brave ones.” Cue stage invasion and pandemonium.
Saw Morrissey at the G Mex last ever gig before it got shut down in 2006 I think. Wonderful performance and brilliant vocals. Manchester so much to answer for xx
I would like to dedicate this to my good friend, Kathryn Fisher who passed away last month. She was a huge Morrissey fan. Viva la Moz. You will be missed, Kat!
Finding or hanging onto a friend who loves the same music as you is difficult to find so losing her and this connection we had with Morrissey was especially painful. Her name was Kathryn Hillary Fisher and she lived in Houston Texas. Please search her obituary and dedicate one of your favorite Smiths or Morrissey lyric on her virtual memorial. It would've meant a lot to her knowing fellow lovers of Morrissey reached out to her and touched her in some way. ❤️
@@AardvarkXYZZY I had to laugh at that myself, just comparing the car wreck version of suedehead here to the one I saw on broadway last year. Just night and day
I was at that johnny carson appearance too! My father was the audio engineer on the tonight show, it was phenominal. The audience went crazy, Carson didnt know what to make of it 😅
I was at this concert my best friend gave me a ticket and a ride to show her name was J.T. l was blown away by how the crowd loved Morrissey. I had never heard music like his band played?
#indossarelamaschera :) '\ō_ō/'
When l was at this concert there were rumors floating around that they would play some of the smiths music. And l asked who are the smiths? I was clueless. But you tube has immortalized this show. Then l went down the rabbit hole.
yeah, I noticed that..apart from the fact that this was the best band he played with, its very noticeable how everyone seems to be enjoying and expressing so much.
20:15 “Your boyfriend he has displayed to me, more than just a real hint of cruelty. I tried to surprise ya, I crept up behind ya with a homeless chihuahua, you cooed for an hour. You handed him back and ya said: ‘you’d never guess what I’ve bought now.’” Hilarious.
I remember back in the 90's and having a VHS tape of this performance, I think it was a bootleg. I played it so much that it eventually broke. We live in a completely different world now, having all of this amazing footage at our fingertips.
I don't think enough has been said about Morrissey's uncanny ability to create a powerful aesthetic. Using Wayward Sisters as the intro, the giant photo of Keitel screaming....it's not just random art. I saw him live a few years ago and before he took the stage, he had the big screen play Andy Warhol's Flesh with "Make Up" by Lou Reed as the soundtrack. It definitely created a vibe in the venue. The man has impeccable taste.
I can't describe the goosebumps I had hearing the Klaus intro waiting for M at this concert - the art wasn't lost on me! I always loved Smiths cover art, the music created a serious mood!
@@TSeeker1 : TOTALLY!!!! Totally 💯% !!!! ❤❤ saw him here in my area now twice …!! that made it my 32nd time seeing him!! LOOVEE him & his nature , talent & facial expressions etc.!
Not to mention the footage from slaughterhouses and fishing. Showing the cruelty, he's wonderful! Save the Animals, go vegan everyone! 🐾💚 My dear Moz, the Animals love you! 🫂💚🐾
To be fair, his hair in late 83 (like November and December) was pretty good! I suppose you could split it up into the sideburn and sideburnless eras though...
This concert will be viewed in years to come and appreciated for what it was then.. a wonderful moment in time that captures Morrissey and that brilliant band ..along with his following ..the full video from start to finish is a work of art
I was way off in the back on the grassy hill. I was watching this band being worship like people did the Beatles. I didn't understand it then but I do now. Seeing it now, I think that this is the best performance they have ever, a live masterpiece.
omg..that was my best times with Mozz ..Kill Uncle in 91 @ LA and in OC..best memories ever! LA was bad though and had to leave after stage rush at first song...NOV1st 1991..November Spawned a Monster started and then it ended..it was sad.
I was in Dallas for this with co-counsellors from YMCA Camp Grady Spruce as a 21-year old. One of them had tickets and I can still remember the stage invasions, which we experienced from way up on the grassy hill. Just shared this brilliant video with our daughter who is in her late teens and has taken a liking to Morrissey and The Smiths, which prompted me to share my memories of this great night. She was very impressed by her old man, I guess things have come full circle in a way…😃🥳
Saw him two days later in Houston! Truly sorry for any fans who weren't even born or old enough to have seen him then...TOTALLY different vibe at shows then than now!
For sure a more wild Morrissey with those White, Boorer, Day and Cobrin!! They used to play in Neo/psycho Rockabilly bands and that rock-punk spirit was a very good thing to all that Smiths/Morrisey world; indeed. The age is also a bad thing for everybody. I would like back to those brilliant 90´s too!! ,But...THE BEST WISHES FOR YOU AND EVERYBODY here!!
God u r SOOOO correct. Everyone's shows change. Jay-Z, Springsteen and the E Street Band etc except if u left at the height of ur powers ala Elvis, Morrison etc but he's changes with age he is now officially a crooner. Sinatra version 2.0. last time it was even close to this was 2007-08 like the Hollywood Bowl Show that was excellent but it's not this anymore. 3 peaks with 3 classic albums with The Smiths AND solo VH, Vauxhall and I and YRTQ sad this last tour Boz was definitely into it more bc new material better setlist but even the WPONOYB tour hit MSG in NYC average show at best. And NEVER like this again. Sucks but at least he's dropping albums n material often now he's ok with label n management
For any Morrissey fans that love listening to The Smiths and 90's Morrissey songs I highly recommend going to see The Sweet and Tender Hooligans. They are the best Smiths Morrissey cover band. They play all of the best songs live. You don't have to beg and scream out requests to The Moz and hope he sings them. It's such a great time if you get your friends whom also like the music and that genre. Generation X baby!!!!!!🤟
Same. It's hard to put into words why. I had the old VHS when it first came out and wore it out. So fascinating to watch on RU-vid now and it still has every bit of Morrissey's enigmatic charisma still bursting from the screen. He's playing a few shows in Vegas in August and Sept....going to try and go!
I was there too. and I also had a friend give me a piece of the shirt that was about the size of a dollar coin... what a show! I saw and said hi to Bill before the show started (he was about 17th row)
@@mysketchbookweighsaton5005 I went to Bill's records in Richardson the day of this concert. He had put a handwritten sign on the door that simply said gone to see Morrissey. I was mad that I couldn't go in and buy some records but I totally understood because I was going to the show that night too. Bill was a freak but he had great taste in music.
