Morrowind Tribunal + Sotha Sil Expanded Any% Speedrun

A video by the Morrowind Modding Showcase ranked Sotha Sil Expanded as the #1 dungeon mod ever made, so I decided to try it out.

I ended up really liking it for all of the visual elements, and how big the areas were. It seemed like it would be a fun challenge to speedrun.
Imagining how long it would take without glitches, I decided that I would make it a glitched run. Once I reach the mod in the run, however, I would not be allowed to use any kind of clipping or out of bounds strats.
I removed the music the mod plays by deleting all of the sound files it came with due to potential DMCA issues. I also deleted the noises that the Fabricant Imperfect makes during combat, because they're extremely loud and you need to fight over 12 of them at the end of the run.
I also ended up using Morrowind Code Patch (MCP) mainly used to fix the issue that happens when the mod attempts to play music. Without MCP, the music volume would be reset to max, which is really loud. I also enabled some crash fixes just for the convenience. The run starts in version 1.0, which does not have this, so I can still get crashes there. Morrowind speedruns normally don't allow MCP, but it's my run and therefore my rules.
After about 10 hours of playtime in the mod, I was ready for my first attempts. The first run wound up being a 53:49, but I knew it could be 47 minutes or lower from when I practiced each half of run.
This run went pretty well until I made a big mistake at almost the very end. I wasn't watching out for a trap and died (insta-death), so I had to revert to the last quicksave which was 2 and a half minutes ago. If that didn't happen, I would have definitely gotten a sub 45 minute run, but I kept going because I was still really ahead.

I don't even know how many Morrowind speed runs I've watched and it just occurred to me why you use the menu during character creation... Just had to get that out of the way before I watch the rest of this haha

How do you do that teleport to Balmora after Tarhiel hits the ground? I'm still learning Morrowind one step at a time.

I purchased scrolls of Almsivi Intervention from Arrille's. These bring you to the nearest temple. In Seyda Neen, you can either teleport to Vivec, or if you're around Tarhiel's body or further in the direction of Balmora, you'll be teleported to Balmora since it is the closest temple at that position

Why do you pick up the orcish armor if you also sell Sunder to creeper?

Shit, what's going on in this run, so confusing. Would love to watch if with some explanation. Like all of these teleportation in first 10 minutes, what was going there.

This is a loaded question depending on how in-depth of an explanation you need. For teleporting I'm just using either Almsivi Intervention or Mark+ Recall, in the intended manor (no glitches involved, just using them well to save as much time as possible). Other than that, I start out in 1.0 so I can do the weapon swap bug. Once I've finished it with Sunder, I take my save file I made on the spot and put it in the Morrowind folder that has the current version and mod/expansions installed. That allows me to load that save file, of course. Then I go on to prepare a bit and then proceed to go through vanilla Tribunal, skipping a lot of the quests by doing out of bounds at times. Like when I first arrive I get on the like the 9th quest immediately by killing Balrizar. Normally you can't get to him until a certain point because of some boulders blocking the way. Maybe I should do a commentary version, although I want to get a better run before that

@@volvulusx5043 thx, that explains it a little bit. It just seemed to me like you had several Marks and Recall to them, but I believe it just happens to quick and I didn’t notice.
