We are all used to hearing the sound of Morse code emanating for a radio. The Morse code sound can be that of a tone that changes in pitch as the radio is tuned around the radio morse code signal. The sound effect of the Morse code is soemthing that is often heard on films or movies, etc.
Or the Morse code sound can be a constant tone. The Morse code signal can have interference, and in fact this is more normal.
The Morse code sound may also be heard to fad in and out as the radio propagation conditions change. This makes the overall Morse code sound effect more realistic.
However Morse code wasn't always sent over a radio, but it was used with a wired telegraph system. When used int his way an item known as a sounder was used. This was basically an electromagnet that was pulled in and out with the dots and dashes of the code.
The Morse code sound effect for this was very different and it consisted of clicks and clacks as the electromagnet moved the arm up and down.
In this way there were many different Morse code sound effects and they were dependent upon the technology with which the Morse code was used.
