Damashi explained to him as a young boy that he was the Champion of the Elder Gods and he needed to collect the Kamidogu, artifacts forged by the Elder Gods that came from the One Being once the realms were split from the beginning of time. He spent most of his lifetime looking for these, and once collected, he learned that Onaga was Damashi all along. He did Onaga’s work as he was dead for thousands of years and he sent out an avatar of his soul to find someone foolish enough to find the Kamidogu.
