He’s fought him idk how many times, this is literally a Tuesday for Liu. The way he just hit Shang Tsung with one kick in the face and had him on the ground got me WEAK lmfao
They might not the same Bii-han/Kuai Liang and Hanzo Hasashi we knew. from the looks of it this took place in ancient era as Shang Tsung look much younger They might the founder of Shirai Ryu and the lin kuei. iirc they say that Shirai ryu once part of Lin Kuei but then separated themselves. this is might their origin story
I love how when Scorpion and Sub-Zero come into frame and as they’re looking at each, like ready to fight, they slowly exhale and relax. I know people might not agree with those two being brothers in this timeline but I do like it. Hanzo needs a freaking break!
@@Silenthitman44 I kinda do hate the leaks. I wanna. I wanna be surprised. Yeah, I don’t mind listening to the intros. It only gives me hints, but when you have thumbnails of rosters and stuff, that’s a little too much

I imagine this was one of Liu Kang reasons before trying to exclude shang Tsung. He would always try rise to power thus tried to erase him but he'd always return
I was 10 when the first Mortal Kombat was released. You have to respect that they've managed to keep the series alive for thirty years and it's probably more popular now than ever.
I played every mk , im kinda obsesed but dont have any system. When i was a kid my parents wanted to buy me ps4 but I spent 500€ on their phone for microtransactions for gameforge hellstones bloodstones and jade stones in game currency online 😂
So i kept playing in game rooms in my town , but never met a worthy enemy. I had sega and ps2 when I was a kid, my pc could play mkX but not 11 , always playing on very hard 🦾🦾
One thing I love is that when the original MK came out all the politicians were freaking out about the violence and how it would affect kids...30 years later we see the only effect it had was giving kids great memories of playing with their friends and families. MK forever.
The fact that they've ended so many old classic rivalries is so good. I love where 11 brought Subzero and Scorpion. Seeing the rest have peace is so nice!
That sub zero is a new one. The original sub zero’s name is bi han and he is killed by scorpion lol. He is the one you see on this trailer and in most of mk’s. Bi han becomes noob saibot after he is killed by scorpion
Is it weird that I don’t play mortal Kombat but I still get excited for it. I love the the storylines and of course seeing how creative they are with the new fatalities. And the hype and hints at the guest characters. MK marketing is so good.
Hahaha! It’s weird but me too. I don’t play the games but I get super excited whenever a new one comes out. I love the characters, the presentation of it all. It’s great!
Exactly lol why am I considering buying it and I don’t even play it. I love the storyline and am willing to buy just to show support and gratitude for the game
I love how the timeliness reset isn't just a complete reboot like nothing happened form MK9. Instead it's blending into the already existing Mk universe. I can't wait
Everything besides MK vs DC Universe (I believe) is canon, because MK9 wasn’t really a complete reboot it was a sequel to Armageddon but Raiden changed the events of the past which erased everything up to Armageddon happening and it seems like the same is happening with this game
@@rockycuro7737 despite the dialogyes in Injustice 2 and in MK11, MK vs DC Universe literally can't be canon because MK11 is in the rebooted timeline but MK vs DC is set in an alternate universe after the original Mortal Kombat II which takes place in the Armageddon timeline which would make MK characters in MK vs DC different characters
Raiden and Kung Lao as retired shaolins. Kitana and Mileena as princesses. Scorpion and Sub-Zero as brothers in kombat. Shang Tsung out of nowhere killing them all. And Liu Kang showing no mercy or holding back with him. This is indeed a new era, and we are close to see it rise.
Thats why John Tobias came back to do the story and character re-designs in this one. 30th anniversary so it's only right. NRS definitely needed his ideas.
No absolutely not. Mortal Kombat 1,2,3 had *REAL PEOPLE ON THE SCREEN.* Sorry I'm just still butt hurt they have never returned to their roots since then. Everything has to be a safe space and blood as an option on the menu screen when it clearly says 18+ or adult only. But I digress.
@@alanrocha9647 No, I was asking if that was Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa's Shang Tsung (like in MK11 and one of the old Mortal Kombat movies), because that's my favorite iteration of him, and it looked him too.
I love how easily Liu Kang deals with Shang Tsung. It’s almost like he know exactly what Shang Tsung is gonna do and he kicks him down like nothing. Really shows how far Liu Kang has come
I might pre-order MK12 nearer the the time so I can get Shang Tsung and beat up Liu Kang players. I wonder if we will ever get to play Shinnok again. He was fun but needs more moves.
Just loved it. Captures the essence of MK 1, including Liu Kang's character being more kung fu focused, while respecting his cannon ending of MK 11. Even had a dragon themed fatality.
MK 1 essence in my opinion is when it just focused on the rivalry of scorpion and sun zero and the tournament. This is something straight from a Hong Kong film which I love.
@@everettenjeze6276 It's a mish mash of pop culture back in 1992. A bit of Blood Sport (the tournament and Van Damme, I mean, Johnny Cage), a lot of Big Trouble in Little China (specially Raiden and Shang Tsung, or should I say Lo Pan), Some American Ninja, some well seasoned Bruce Lee in the form of Liu Kang. It's an amazing amalgamation of everything I loved as a kid and that's why I felt in love the first saw it in the Arcades, and that's why it has been part of my life since.
He already stated that he gave them all free will to be good or evil. The only change he made was allowing everyone the chance to be good/peaceful unlike the last era
I'm guessing that Shang Tsung is from an alternate reality where he won against Liu Kang. That would be the only reason Liu kang couldn't just intervene so easily - Shang would be just as powerful as him
@@MrPsychoticss Shang is either usurping Godhood again or causing all out war against realms(Which leads to Shang becoming powerful to becoma God). he has every right to intervene. Him being essentially a corrupted Raiden would go against his development in MK11 especially when the whole point of his character was to break away from the cycle of Raiden vs Liu kang. Implying him being an authoritarian God would make him so stupid to fall in the same trap as Raiden.
Ah man this trailer was so damn promising. The story coulda been amazing but instead they went with the shitty multiversal garbage that literally no one above the age of 12 wants. Ah well at least the gameplay is good

My guess for the story is Liu Kang used the "dragonforce" with good intentions, but all it does is F his world up. Like an MK version of flashpoint. Now his "champions" must restore balance, or some BS like that.

@Matt M 11 pretty much made them all connect so even the 2011 one wasn't a reboot, the universe was just stuck in a time loop, which has been broken as of 11.
It feels like yesterday when I got back from HS and my buddy called me to play the (first) MK game for SNES his mom bought for him, and I surprised him with Scorpion’s fatality, R ⬆️⬆️, the easiest one in the game (or all games, maybe). To be fair, I think generally speaking fighting games don't see the same development hell of other games. I feel as is most of the work is in fine tuning the mechanics. You don't have large sprawling open world maps like most of the RPG games that end up being broken at launch

Hoping we get human Reptile and Smoke into this roster.
Looking back, I honestly thought we'd be given decisions throughout the story based on the trailer. Everyone's paths were pretty straightforward from the start. Sub-Zero was set from the start to be a bad guy/turn. He and Scorpion fought as brothers for about 10 minutes of cutscenes.
Yeah. I imagine with his having more responsibilities now as a god, he has to be more ready than ever to protect the peace, even more so than when he was just a mortal.
Seeing how Liu Kang now is literally become Goku's level in MK and Jin Kazama in TK has finally mastered his Devil power at will, make me sad how literally nothing Ryu has achieve in SF...even his supposed "Mu no Ken" technique doesn't seem that impress when he beat Necalli...and Necalli is wasted as well...Capcom really don't know how to deliver a badass main hero scene for SF (but in DMC they nail it with Dante). Capcom should have adapt the "Shin Ryu" from the comic to the main canon game. This is the only version of Ryu that I see worthy to stand equal with current Liu Kang and Jin Kazama. I feel like incredibly violent finishers aren't as good as the ones that mix personality and style, like scorpion in MKX, his first fatality was violent ad brutal but his second one was better because it had more personality and style. This ine nails both of those whilst still making it brutal and it's perfect
Where did he get the air? He was detest from his lungs at that point. It's like that joker fatality where he punches a giant hole in their chest, and still somehow without lungs they can still sigh and scream.
It's subjective because I would rather play any other fighting game that MK. It isn't bad, but feels jagged in comparison to other fighting games. Street Fighter does traditional footsies and gameplay better. Tekken revolutionizes the genre with options never seen before. Guilty Gear takes traditional character types and blends them into something unique. Dragonball FighterZ has satisfying bombastic combos and visuals. And "Your only move is hustle" completly turns an otherwise fighting game into a turn based chess fighter that turns into a cool movie after the game is done. In my opinion MK has to do A LOT to impress me in this market.
That is not a opinion is true MK is perfect started all if you say street fighters or other games 1 you are not honest 2 you are full of 💩 3 work on being more honest 4 you must be a joke 🤣
So... it seems im the only one who don't like this idea... but its 2023 i understand all of it... “Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.”
Yeah I’m probably the minority but I think the fatalities are getting lamer. Two skulls being made from one of Shang’s fatalities in the last one, now we have pitched screaming while being just a head for the next. “Wow, everybody’s so creative.”
I'm excited for whatever story they want to tell in this game! A new beginning without retelling the same story over and over again is so refreshing. I like that we keep the character development for Scorpion and Sub Zero, so we don't have to do it again. Mileena is one of the good guys now? We finally get to see Edenia in it's prime! There is so much good here, I'm just not sure what to think of the name. This could cause a lot of confusion later down the line. I really hope the gameplay is not like in MK11, but I do hope it will keep the Ultrawide support like in MK11 on PC!
Except it's not really a reboot. Fire God Liu Kang is carried over from MK11 and Shang Tsung stepped out of a time portal, so technically this is a sequel and continuation from the last game
