Funny how at the beginning Kenshi said “bet me sento” then Johnny said “not on your life”. Then here we are with Johnny giving sento to Kenshi for him almost dying to protect Johnny.

damashi was the name of an ilusion created by onaga's mind, the dragon king of outworld, he use damashi to manipulate shijunko and use it to collect the kamidogu, a set of objects with the power capable to equaling the power of a god, that was a good reference of mortal kombat deception

I watched the entire thing barely a day or 2 after the game itself came out and I told my friend this is something I'd actually pay to see in theaters. The cinematics were just too good for it to only be a game

How is this story not in a movie theatre rn...such a good story I just wish we could play more with the characters after they get their abilities (looking at you Kenshi) I'm such a lore head it was so cool to see the similarities and differences between the old timelines and the new one. Kenshi losing his eyes, Kuai Liang getting his scar, both canon events (were gonna happen no matter what), but so much has changed. Thanks for the upload luv and hope you heal up swiftly hugs

So yeah, in this new timeline, Bi-Han is Sub-Zero (remember, Bi-Han is Noob Saibot after he was killed). Scorpion is Kuai Liang (the Sub-Zero we've seen in the past games) and not Hanzo Hasashi. Hanzo appears in Smoke's (and Raiden's) Arcade Endings. Also, one thing you need to know Jelly, is that in MK1, EVERY SINGLE ARCADE ENDING is canonical. They are all events that happens after the Battle of Armageddon. So, if you choose to react to them, don't go in with the mindset of it all being non-canon. It's all canonical.

To anyone that might be confused with Sub-Zero's betrayal, remember that this is not the same person as the Sub-Zero in MK11, this is the person who last held that name before Kuia Liang, Bi-Han. in previous timelines, after his death he took on the identity of Noob Saibot, after his death, his younger brother Kuia Liang took his place, and the mantle of Sub-Zero. In this new timeline Bi-Han once again is Sub-Zero, Tomas is alive and is still Smoke, and interestingly Kuia Liang is now Scorpion instead of Hanzo Hasashi, makes me wonder who will take the name "Tundra"

Mileena x Tanya has been canon since MKX. (Both Mileena and Tanya are bisexual.) But this is actually first time that their relationship has been shown in an MK story mode and also multiple other characters talking about Mileena and Tanya dating.

2:42:20 You're justifiably hating Sub-Zero because this one is actually Bi-Han, aka the original Sub-Zero (who appeared in the first MK then in MK9), how always had this personality. In both the original timeline and in MK9's soft reboot, he was killed by Hanzo Hasashi (the OG Scorpion) before he could actually betray Earthrealm (though he gave hints at it) and would then be resurrected as the revenant we know as Noob Saibot. Also in both these timelines, he was replaced by his younger brother Kuai Liang, who would become the new Sub and new grandmaster of the Lin Kuei. Kuai would never betray Earthrealm, he was always a noble person. The difference here is that he doesn't have ice powers now and is instead the current version of Scorpion (Hanzo Hasashi is yet to appear in this new era, barring spoilers from characters' arcade mode endings). So essentially you are still loving the "Sub-Zero" you loved in MKX and MK11, since you're still loving Kuai Liang.

3:39:06 - There's still some confusion about the "Great Kung Lao" among Tubers... In case Jelly hadn't realized, it's a different person. Liu Kang's bestie Kung Lao is a descendant of the "Great Kung Lao", who in the previous timeline was Earthrealm's greatest tournament champion centuries before. In the "good" ending of MK11 Aftermath, which leads centuries later to this story, "Great Kung Lao" was chosen as Liu Kang's champion in this timeline.

In the previous game Shang Tsung led Kenshi to where his family sword was being kept however he failed to mention the sheer amount of power from the souls being contained within so when Kenshi first wielded the sword the overwhelming power itself blinded him.

You have said you played MKX and MK11. Have you played MK9? Because MK9 is the starting point of the modern-day reboot, the timeline before MK1's. If not, I would love to see you go back 12 years into the past and experence the story mode of MK9. But if you have, fantastic. If you had just started from MKX, you may have been a bit lost in the lore, and would have misedout on so many orignal characters. MK9 still has the greatest roster of all time to this day. And with MK9, you will get to know the true variant of Shao Kahn (the general in MK1, but the almighty emperor in MK9. They did Shao Kahn dirty in MK11, because he is the best villain in all of Mortal Kombat history, with Shang Tsung second)

I assume you haven't played the MK9 story mode because you were very shocked to see Bi-Han's ultimate betrayal. But if you had started from MK9, you wouldn't have been so surprised, because that is the original Sub-Zero's fate, all written in stone. Always loyal to himself and the Lin Kuei, and betrays everyone else. And the Sub-Zero you had admired in MKX and MK11 was Kuai Liang (the identity of Scorpion in MK1), the younger brother of Bi-Han (the second Sub-Zero). And since you never played MK9, you have never truly known of Bi-Han at all, how evil he was, and still is in MK1 (and even more evil than he was previously)

Shang Tsung new VA, Alan Lee, really imitates Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa's voice and manner of speaking well. You barely can tell it's different person. Same goes also for Mileena and Kitana, they're voiced by Kari Walhgren who does slight but noticeble shift in between voices, making Mileena's voice somewhat more higher and more energetic than Kitana's(outside of her Tarkat form, of course).

I’ve got 4 more games to recommend if you keep gaming. Maybe put these on your list. I’ve played all 4 of these games many times. In my personal opinion the storyline to all 4 of these suggested games are incredible. 1. Uncharted : The Lost Legacy 2. The Quarry 3. Beyond : Two Souls 4. Detroit : Become Human ( If you end up playing Beyond : Two Souls just a heads up the controls are a bit tricky )

AYY! Yuri Lowenthal! So cool. That's definitely Yuri Lowenthal as Adam, right? I seriously cannot see that as being anyone else. I loved his performance in Saints Row The Third, Saints Row IV, Ben 10 Alien Force, Ben 10 Ultimate Alien, Ben 10 Omniverse, Ben 10 Alien X, Fallout: New Vegas (I think he was in that one), Saints Row (The Reboot which I loved (and not just for the *IMMENSELY EXTENSIVE* character creation, which is usually the main reason I'll like something, cough cough, LEGO Star Wars the Skywalker Saga, cough cough, friggin sucked compared to most LEGO games)), Marvel's Spider-Man (the game not the show), Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and probably a few others gone unmentioned. He's like, between my first and forth favourite voice actor.

I was surprised that you were shocked at Bi-Han's (Sub-Zero) betrayal and evilness because it was always bound to happen but then I read in some of these comments that you haven't played MK9 that's why you never knew the fate of the first Sub-Zero and of course by playing MKX and MK11 the Sub-Zero you encountered is Kuai Liang who befriends Hanzo Hisashi (the original Scorpion), in this new timeline Kuai Liang is Scorpion and never becomes the second Sub-Zero he also founded the Shirai Ryu as opposed to Hanzo being Scorpion and the clan leader in the original timeline, also it is stated in the game that Hanzo in this new timeline is a promising student of the Shirai Ryu.

If I'm not mistaken, the Scorpion in the final battle is Hanzo Hasashi from the previous timelines.......but the one from the new timeline is Kuai Liang

The reboot is designed to be a fresh start not just for the story, but for the players as well. It's a chance for anyone, regardless of their prior knowledge of 'Mortal Kombat,' to jump in and enjoy the game. After all, every expert was once a beginner. The fun part about gaming is the journey from knowing nothing to mastering the moves and the lore!
