As much as I loved Fire God Liu Kang's Ending in Aftermath, I don't want the MK12 Roster to be only about people from The Great Kung Lao's Era. I still want characters like Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade, Jax and Stryker. I'm also 90% sure that Ermac will be in the game!

I wish this made it possible for Mileena to grow up with Kitana again like she did in the old timeline but they technically retconned that since she’s created during the events of MK2.

I just hope we get a version of Ermac that’s a hero again like in the original timeline but have someone else free him instead of Kenshi maybe like Bo-Rai-Cho since it was sort of hinted in MKX during an intro dialogue between them.

Imagine in mk12 for the ending similar to aftermath we get to choose goro or the great Kung lao? Like if we choose goro he kills kung lao and it leads to the mk story we know or if Kung lao wins,his Victory creates a new reality.

Also note that the lin kuei had not yet split from the shirai ryu defection and the red dragon clan was present in this era having been founded by daegon shortly after awakening.

Do you think it's possible that if Liu Kang got rid of Shao Kahn as you suggested, making Onaga the Kahn of Outworld, King Jerrod could still be alive? Without Shao Kahn we don't have Ermac, which I think is a shame because I missed him in MK 11. Jerrod could be a replacement for Ermac but what would be his powerset, maybe telekinesis? I am torn with the revelation that Sindel has always been a villain because on the one hand I like her and Shao Kahn as an evil couple, but I also really wanted to see Ermac's ending in MK 9 become canon.

I think Reiko could be around in the Great Kung Lao era. I would love to see these characters who have never been playable become playable.

You could have Scorpion in this game. Either he could be an ancestor of current day Scorpion from his clan, or have Liu Kang bring Scorpion with him from the old timeline as a champion of the gods. A lot of characters could be brought back this way. Liu Kang just makes them immortal champions.

I think we're better off going in the Shang Tsung ending route. This could be the perfect opportunity to introduce the 3d characters into the storyline, we can even have the Dragon King be the finally boss this time around somehow absorbing the power from Shang Tsung. I think the 3d Era characters being the main protagonist would be an awesome route to go, especially since fans have wanted so many of them to return for so many years now. I personally think it's a better plot point to explore more realms and not to have another reboot again. Unless we can choose either ending from mk11 and they expand this in the storyline for mk12

Liu Kang has Raiden's godly essence and his role as protector god. Raiden was mortal at the end of MK11. Also, if past Raiden showing up made present Raiden disappear; and Raiden gave his godly essence to Liu Kang.... having Fire God Liu Kang show up at the end of Aftermath should've erased past Raiden.

For me, if they will put ancestor Sub-Zero, Why not add Takeda (The first Shirai Ryu) And Why not The Lin Kuei Grandmaster (Sektor Father) Drahmin I think that have 0% chance … Ed Boon Hates this character Moloch could be, but i would prefer they creating a new “Oni Warlord” character (like the sub Boss of MK:SM and the ones that we see on MKX comics) If We gonna have Hotaru, I think that Darrius and Dairou … but I prefer that not I think that Daegon have a chance much bugger than Taven (because he woke up first … also because they could add a Nice history with Red Dragon) … Delia Would be amazing … I think that they could add Blaze just as a move or Fatality of Delia Argus could be a New Raiden on this game, but I think that would be very similar to fire God Liu Kang (Argus also have powers of thunder and Fire) For me Daegon + Delia is enough Millena on the past ? Realistically this is not the best route for netherealm to go if they want to keep fans happy. Not just trying to tailor to new age fans

Simple solution to all this. In Liu's new timeline, we will only see characters who existed in the Great Kung Lao Era and ones that would make sense/fit the Era. Characters such as Kitana and Jade would only be children at that time (if that). So they wouldn't exist as kombatants. Mileena wouldn't simply exist. With that being said, we could get Shang's Era as well, so we'll probably get two separate rosters with 2 storymodes in the main game. MK DLC characters would get split up between the 2 rosters by fitting said Era.

It’s a good roster choice and there’s definitely a chance that some or most of the characters will be on the list but if anything I feel it’ll be mixed between main roster and DLC. My reasonings for that are because well I’m 99 percent sure that no matter what Scorpion is a Staple character in the game. He’s always the tutorial character, the cover, he’s on the box😂 he’s everywhere I doubt they’ll push him aside just for a story mode and make people wait months for him to come in Dlc people would be pissed. Same with a lot of other characters. I believe kitana will be in the game so will the other edinians why well because if the timeline takes place 500 years before then those characters will definitely be in the game considering the fact that kitana is 10,000 years old but mileena on the other hand won’t be included if they restart the timeline because she’s only 25 years old so technically this would be waaaaay before shao khan even thinks about making a clone of kitana and besides that onaga being ruler shao khan wouldn’t even have any sort of stand of power in the game besides maybe being a general but probably not Kahn. Same reason I feel as kotal Kahn wouldn’t be included. In mk11 kotal says that before he was Kahn he was a soldier and a slave at one point he only came to power after the fall of shao Kahn. So I’m sure with the timeline that takes him out of the game n I doubt they’ll add his father since there hasn’t been any mention of him at all in anything. There’s a lot of characters that can be and there’s a lot that can’t be due to their own lore, age or point in time. But yeah I’m sure all the edenians will be there along with sub, onaga, sindel, smoke, Bo rai Cho and any other character that has age to them. It’s a little tricky when it comes to Scorpion but I’m sure they’ll just switch the story up like what they did with sindel in mk11.

Can't agree with Shang tsung in this list. Reason being he's canonically erased in Liu's ending. Liu said "No more timelines will be twisted by your evil." So I feel like Shang is gonna be dlc but not cannon to the story like he was in aftermath. Could be wrong though.

They would probably include some new old characters, teammates of the Great Kung Lao, also I don't think Outworld had same fighters over and over again

Well, the same logice is going to be applied to scorpion. The Shirai Ryu is a splinter cell of the Lin Kuei. Scorpion could be a title, and if not, it'd be another title, but same fighting style.

Good roster, but why would delila be part of the roster since we never actually seen her fight not to mention she’s was more a guide for taven than a fighter and argus, while yes he is a god, we don’t know if he has any hand to hand capabilities like Raiden or fujin. Another thing why are their two khameleons? I think 1 would do just fine lol. You forgot about shang tsung who fought against the great kung lao in that era so, he should make the list as well.

I don't think Shang Tsung is going to be in Mk 12. How Liu Kangs aftermath ended, it's pretty much implied that Shang Tsung is completely gone. Wiped out of existance how Kronika tried to wipe out Raiden.

Also the original union of fire and ice could be a “dirty secret” the sub zero of the great kung Lao era discovers….shirai ryu was founded by takeda (mentioned in MK conquest) as a break off of the lin kuei) we could see a “soft reboot” of MK CONQUEST ep. “The serpent and the ice”

With regard to taven and Daegon, Easter eggs can be given for red/black dragon and the artic ice ninja founded by dehlia for taven benefit

Idk what people are smoking because you can literally have everyone except for members of the special forces and black dragon which are pretty much the only humans from Earth for the most part in the MK universe and we could definitely do without all of them. You don’t need Kung Lao when you have the Great Kung Lao, Johnny can be DLC if need be. The Kombat kids just need to not exist in the new trilogy at least and let’s just have three or four games that focuses on the demons, gods, deities, and ninja/cyborg’s and mystical beings with super powers because I’m really tired of fucking soldiers and mercenary’s with guns taking up story times and lore lol

Isn't Mileena more of a modern day character? She came on the scene around the time Johnny Cage and Sonya enter the tournament. At least according to MK9. Unless you're saying Shang Tsung could clone Kitana earlier on, which I guess is possible.

Lets be real there aint no way in hell that Scorpion isnt gonna be the game dude is literally the face of the franchise and has been front and center of every box art since MK vs DC

I think it is likely that the roster won't use a lot of these characters due to various plot reasons. We will likely get maybe less then half of these as the base "existed", then a good chunk of the characters will be ancestors/mantles, like nightwolf, subzero, cage, kotal father, stuff like that. The game will likely claim a massive cast of newcomers, but after characters that are basically kombat klones, it'll maybe be 3 real newcomers. I expect the roster to be pretty low to medium, nothing groundbreaking in terms of size. DLC likely will not follow continuity of the timeline/will be handwaved in intros with weird magic/liu kangs interference.

I hate that classic game studios are scared to start their rosters over and fans won't let characters go. I would of preferred Fire God Lui Kang and The Great Kung Lao on a new adventure with new characters rather then a new version of old characters for the new MK1 timeline. I appreciate them being brave enough to create the "Kombat Kids". The same way I see new athletes in professional sports is the same way I want new experiences and stories in games. Not the same people for 20-30 yrs straight. Life moves on! You can always create different "off shoots" and cameos for classic characters

Personally, I would love a game that only takes place in the Great Kung Lao era. If that means a game without characters like the SF, the Black Dragon, the Kombat kids and the cyber ninjas that OK with me. That said, I'm sure they would work in Scorpion and Sub-Zero somehow. No MK game be without them at this point

I really need a trailer and I think story mode might include konquest perks just not like Armaggedon ones more like decption ones but only up to a point then we get free roaming meaning this time the great King Lao will get power ups from different masters to win over Goro. After that is anyone’s guess. I hope we get some great DLC for this game.
