I know it's fitting that Kitana kills Shao Kahn and all, but I just wish that they showed Shao dominating her and the other kombatants before finally being defeated by their tenacity and willpower. Kitana just owning him one on one kinda made his previous reputation of being a nigh unstoppable juggernaut fall flat on it's face, just my opinion...

How the mighty have fallen. Not only did they nerfed Shao Kahn, but they demoted him from Final Boss to a mere pawn of Kronika, so Kitana killed him easily! What the Hell were they thinking, killing Shao Kahn off too soon?! This is one of the biggest flaws in this game!

I honestly like that Kitana defeats him, sure he is the biggest powerhouse in all of history but fate has also been in all in Kronika's design. In the original timeline, he wins. My theory is... time is broken. Literally, there is no one pulling the strings. It's anyone's game and is all in their hands. Kitana is an experienced assassin who was in Shao Kahn's service for all of millenia, this dude freaking raised her for crying out loud. So I like to think that perhaps she knows his weak points and knows how to knock him down. She has an idea on how to knock him down and get the upper hand. But I would of liked this storyline to show her struggle a bit but then get the upper hand. That's my piece on this.

Good redemption moment for Kitana, but beating Shao Khan in a 1v1 dual? that's bad writing on the developers part.

This is ridiculous, they screwed Shao Kahn so hard in this story with their lazy writing. He got what 10 minutes of screen time not even? And he dies. I mean this guy has been pretty much the main antagonist of mortal kombat. He has ruled outworld for thousands and thousands of years, conquered other realms and merged them with his, defeated Blaze and achieved the power of Armageddon until Raiden reversed time, and was inches of conquering earthrealm before Raiden and the combined power of the elder gods were able to defeat him. He goes from all that, to being nerfed to the point being killed by Kitana. His brainwashed "daughter" who was absolutely scared of him in MK9 and has been defeated by many other normal fighters. And he dies by a measly fan to the throat, terrible...

I know this is late. But he isn't dead. Clearly. He was slashed across the eyes. Blinding him. You can see him groaning in pain before he (Quite obviously) passes out by a combination of pain and blood loss. He was already worn out to begin with from losing in the first place considering Kitana could easily kick him over and take her time with this. Its not hard to tell he just passed out.

Let it sink in that this kitana never ruled over anything barely made an impact towards the story since this is the past kitana, now trusted to rule over a realm. Literally makes sense the universe got wiped.

So If Kitana actually killed Shao Kahn then the current timeline would be changed again meaning a lot of things never have happened Shao Kahn invasion of Earthrealm never happened, and The Revenants (excluding Scorpion and Noob Saibot) that were created by Quan Chi due to striking a deal with Shao Kahn would cease to exist and Kitana, Jade, Liu Kang, Kung Lao etc. would still be alive, and Kitana becomes new Kahn of Outworld

If kitana kills past shao Kahn before raiden and liu kang have the confrontation due to shao Kahn’s invasion in mk9, then liu kang’s revenant shouldn’t exist due to the fact that he didn’t die in the exact same manner, same with the other revenants. This is the shao Kahn before he resurrected sindel, so technically if sindel never gets resurrected due to shao Kahn being dead, she doesn’t kill the earth realm warriors and there are no revenants.
