He was fed up with being forced to make side games that just didn't have the budget and also Midway just wanted to milk the IP. He left and made Studio Gigante and failed pretty hard

Mortal Kombat Special Forces was pretty bad and Tobias left Midway because of this. I can't believe Ed Boon lost it and covered up all the female characters....at least the recent games are still as gory as ever
