Mortal Kombat 9 - How to beat Shao Kahn with Raiden (Very Easy Way) 

I can understand characters getting harder to beat but this guys ridiculous. Shit like this makes you not even care about playing it.

I beat him quite easy with Liu Kang But raiden is shit on this game :(

He tore half of my life down with just a single combo He threw his hammer He speared me and then shoulder dashed me twice The worst part is I got him to 10% health

On X-box, it's so fuking annoying when I'm trying to do an uppercut but I instead I do one of his special abilities. OMG

i tried and i cried multiple times

This shouldnt even be a mission it makes me not want to play the games

Every time I try to land an upper cut it doesn't work because of his "boss" abilities. Like when you fight Kintaro or Goro. He just takes it. Its like an automatic block but he can still lay your ass out in the process. I can sometimes land an upper cut or leg sweep but its like... 50/50 and its completely unfair and OP.

Guys, I found that it also helps if you use your electric flying charge to knock him back as he gets close to you. It wont work all the time, but when it does it allows you to setup like the video shows. Also, when he is far away try and shoot a few electro balls at him to stun him before he throws spears / hammer. This will widdle down his health.

Im still convinced nobody has beaten Shao Kahn, and that this level is a prank.

Raiden is by FAR far far the worst caracter on mk9

I was stuck on this for awhile. Eventually I just started teleporting then throwing an uppercut over and over. Even if you don't hit him, just keep teleporting and uppercutting. He's pretty easy after that.

I cant handle it. Im playing on xbox and 1/2 times he will try to electrocute him. WHich gets me hit.

i teleport behind him and he kicks me if i try jump over him he jump into the air and hits me and if i try move a way he slides over to me really quick iv been doing this for 4 fucking hours and still havent killed him once...

Found an even easier way... after around 40 matches.... I took the CD out of the console, took it out back and took my 12 gauge to it. Problem solved

I don't get it what am i doing wrong? when i do this he just hits me with his hammer when i come out of the teleport.

I did it first time after watching this video, one tip for everyone struggling is to watch when he makes little movements when he attacks, then teleport, uppercut, step back wait again and rinse and repeat. Thanks man, big help!

I used the time limit to my advantage I hit shao kahn with the lightning fly and then jumped to one end of the screen to the other and let the time run out

It took me around 30 tries. Your best bet is to teleport behind him, uppercut him, and then shoot a lightning ball at him while he gets up. It takes some practice but it works. He may be a bitch, but it it just makes you feel that much better when you finally take him down.

half the time when i spawn behind him im JUST too far away to hit him and about half of the times where i actually land a hit... i hit him, hear and see the contact but he hits me back immediately. and then hits me about 6 times in a row without any chance of a combo breaker or even being able to fucking move. this is a horrible boss. yes, bosses should be hard but this is just plain ole' GAY

Ive had this game for years and I have like 1000 wins and 600 loses online, but I never could do this. Started playing again, decided I wanted to finally beat it, followed the tutorial, and finally beat it in about 5 or so tries. Thank goodness haha I can finally play Quan Chi

Nope; Raiden's lightning bolt is slower that Liu Kang's fire balls so Shao quickly recover and throw multiple arrows and hammers.

Thanks for the help i can stop raging now btw i just kept drop kicking him while spamming teleport and avoiding the hammer with the teleport while drop kicking him its a combo chain that beats him quicker if you chain it

i was struggling too much... i was trying to pull up different moves on different attacks like duck while spear, teleport while hammer throw etc. I was getting confused and doing wrong moves due to bad reflex of mine ;) But with ur trick i could beat it. I just have to teleport whenever he throws... now depending one spear or hammer, i could land an uppercut. sometimes i missed. but it worked finally. Thanks man...

Friendly reminder if you’re someone doing this: does not jump over Shao Kahn after teleport for a two hit combo because you will accidentally input a move you meant not to do

What I did to beat him was you have to constantly uppercut him, or fly attack him, save your special attack till the end. Round two you’re gonna loose he’ll spam charging you, throwing his hammer and spears it’s gonna happen trust me then round three you just gotta do the same thing but he more vigilant and stay away from him. It takes a while to learn how to defeat him.

It’s on sight if I EVER see one of these devs, the amount of shit I said during this fight is flabbergasting

If you're playing with the 360 controller, I'm utterly amazed at how you make this look so easy! My d-pad only seems to accept "down, up" (ie, raiden's teleport) about 1/4 of the times I press it. The rest of the time, it thinks I'm pressing right or left also and it cancels the move. So I never manage to teleport; I usually just jump in the air and get uppercut immediately. There IS a sensitive spot on each direction button that won't trigger multiple directions, but it's hard to hit it reliably! Maybe it's just me?

I remember trying to do this for so long on my ps vita a couple years back. You can frickinh teleport. I mean I was a kid so I didn't know much but I thought it was basically impossible

I finally beat him today. Got all the way to this part and quit playing about 5 months ago an then tried again today. I beat him by default lol the time ran out both the rounds I won an his health was lower so he fainted lmao

I've found that jumping over him and then front kick him is one of the easiest ways to drain his health, all you do is that if it doesn't work when jumping over him all you do is teleport and kick and maybe combo kick

You guys... I’m not kidding... I’ve been stuck on this same boss fight for 8 FUCKING YEARS. I am still trying to beat him. I pulled out MK9 out of my closet a few days ago so I could reply 9 and X before 11 comes out, and I forgot that I’m still stuck on this fuck. I just can’t beat him still. It’s depressing. And I’m no slouch either, I can go through the ladder on expert difficulty no problem, but this guy I just can’t beat. It’s hopeless.

I've been trying this for days every I try to jump over him he uses that upward dash attack and when I'm on the ground he spams hammers at me and you can't block or duck under the hammers so annoying

what i did was keep jumping backwards and everytime he dashes once i used eletric fly and it punishes him because he doesent block it

Fun fact if you keep a distance and throw a projectile at Shao Kahn he'll occasionally just taunt if you keep spamming projectiles
