Mortal Kombat: Annihilation Review - Off The Shelf Reviews 

When I first watched this movie as a child I attributed the poor visual quality to the fact that maybe the VHS tape was rewritten too many times or too damaged... but now I see

The reason Christopher Lambert didn't do MKA Was because he didn't like the script. So he won't do pretty much anything ;) I interviewed him this year and he told me he passed on MKA because it wasn't true to the game story.

Couldn't agree more with Garys point about cgi and how it's use should be seamless and used to enhance the practical effects, not replace them. Even today there's still far too many cases of bad cgi in big Hollywood blockbusters

Did anyone ever see Mortal Kombat Conquest in the 90's? I used to absolutely love that show as a kid. That would make a great review for this channel as I'm sure it doesn't hold up well today :(

The original was fucking amazing! I watch it so many times! I've only seen Annihilatio once, when I was in 2nd grade lol Back then, it was ewww, looking back on it, My Lord! No more! I'll just stick to the original film! Great Review guys!

I have to side with Iain on this one, if you're a Mortal Kombat fan, you have to put yourself through the shit. Especially as he said after that cliffhanger in part 1, I have to continue on.

Yo guys its time to do a review on the classic Mortal Kombat

I actually liked some fights and parts of this shit fest. I remember pointing out how Sindel went from a purple to blue outfit when you first see her, like within 2 seconds of screen time.

I was pissed how shitty this one came out to be, the ending of the first movie got me pumped to see Shao Kahn and i thought we finally got a good video game movie for once.

Hope you guys review the other MK stuff "The Journey Begins", "Defenders of the Realm", "Conquest" & "Legacy"

you know why we say it's the best adaptation is, it's an adaptation of the game there's a tournament there's a bunch of dumb stuff and the martial arts fights are frequent and competent, well done, it's not a greaaaat movie which is why they usually screw video game adapts up by shoveling too much in, but the first one just /is the video game/the movie

I remember I saw it on theaters at the time it was released , I was 13 and I was very disappointed because I did love the first one but very confused and disappointed by this one

I thought even the catfight was a bit disappointing, a lack of scratching, hair pulling and clothes being ripped off.

LOL! Not a fan of Mortal Kombat, but kinda tempted to just see this to laugh through it. Mates, few beers, and just talk the shit!

Loved the first MK growing up, seen the add for No2 so got the VHS copy bk in 98 and was like wtf is this crap lol. Again Great review guys but as MK fans, you should watch or do Scorpions Revenge. Now that is a kick ass film

All of he main character ninjas have really shitty cheap-looking outfits, too! I get that Sub-Zero explains he's the younger brother of the one from the first movie, but there's no explanation for the new Scorpion… I, personally, prefer the Sub-Zero, Scorpion, and Reptile outfits from the first film. The block look of the tabards, in this film, and the cardboard-looking face masks are mind-numbingly shit!

Well, apparently NRS agreed with the lore being a pain in the ass to follow, considering MK9 kicked all the past games aside and reset everything. Also, this movie is really not great. The acting falls pretty flat, even from good actors like James Remar. They really had nothing to work with, script or direction. It's pretty obvious the studio just wanted this as a cash grab, and a LOT of the passion and care from the first movie is just gone.

I watched mortal Kombat 4 times in 3 weeks. I saw this once. Enough said. It doesn't look nearly as good. They killed my favorite character johnny cage in the first 5 minutes. That put me off right away.
