This game needs an HD edition on next gen consoles. It did everything right for all the modes it offered...so much variety in the game. And the story wasn't garbage? HD DEFINITION PLEASE
+Manu I disagree. Unlockables is one of the features that made Mortal Kombat Deception a great game in my opinion, due to the fact that it'll give you a higher replay value.
This game came out when I was 9, i remember getting it for Christmas and playing it all the time, i absolutely loved it... I can't believe how much stuff they fit into it. You had the normal arcade mode which was a lot of fun (it was geniunally very difficult, and was fun to play with different characters), aswell as a HUGE konqest story mode which was amazing, puzzle kombat and chess kombat! What a game! I'm 19 now and i havent played this game for a good 5 or 6 years (and even then it was the first time i'd played it in a long time) but i can remember everything so well, and still today regard this as one of my favourite games of all time. I mean seriously this game was incredible, it came out in 2004 and its not 2015, yet i think its one of the funnest fighting games ever made... And was a lot better than armageddon which was released in 06... I'm going to get mk X but i doubt it will ever be as great as deception

Ficer Ed the fly scared tf outta me when I was little. My dad didn’t give a damn if I played mortal kombat when I was little. He just never let me play gta or watch family guy 😕
They were also supposed to add Onaga as a puzzle fighter, but they scratched that idea. You can still use him with some mods, but his huge wings cover up most of the screen.
I feel like he was supposed to be the boss of the mode like he is during normal arcade tower. His big ass wings getting in the way is probably what made them scrap him
I remember playing this on the Nintendo DS port of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. It included Puzzle Kombat for some reason. It may look simple but it's a lot of fun to play. The AI was bullshit though, but that's a Mortal Kombat tradition at this point.
Calwen I did like it,but I never unlocked jade or raiden because I am not pro enough to get a ×10 combo and I dont know what the other characters requirement was...
One of the biggest reasons why puzzle kombat is so difficult even in easy is that you're allowed to shortcut the time of the pieces falling but the enemy never does this, giving them way more time to keep their pieces from stacking to the top
I would invest a small fortune in a remastered version of these mini games alone such as Puzzle Kombat, Chess Kombat, and Motor Kombat. They were (and still are) so much fun and you can tell they were made with love and care unlike priced DLC of today’s “modern games.” Absolutely disgusting...
My record on this was around +400 blocks onto my opponent 😂 The trick was to randomize as fast as you could (the blocks would work themselves out) by pressing up on the d-pad and pretty much do the same as what the AI did on Hardcore 😂 So much fun me and my brother had on this; those were the years 🥲 I hope they remake this masterpiece with all its wonderful content one day🙏
8:55 No, it's not the whole charm of it. It's the charm of it AND the fact that the puzzle matching makes it more of a challenge and requires a bit more skill than just button mashing. I find all the puzzle-hybrids that way. Love them. And the characters are the icing on the cake, in the case of this game...
Milleena doing the splits, sindel is standing like jade well sort of, raidens shooting lightning, Kabal just has his weapons, and every o"ne else is just doing a victory posse.
Puzzle kombat with the online gaming of today and a crowd like in the MK9 Xbox 360 koth mode would be such a great addition to MK, but I guess that's too much asking to NRS today because it seems they can only do the bare fighting game, not even a Shaolin Monks remastered HD lol
I read somewhere that the white bird appears because if you're playing on medium and get a good combo on Hell's Foundry then press start on Ermac you play as Ashrah I don't know if it's true or not but it would make sense because she's on a load screen.
MrGSTAR, what are your PC Specs? (at least the processor, ram and graphics card). Cause running any of these PS2 MK games on my PC just slows them down by a ton, and i have at least a very decent PC.

In a recant interview with Ed boon about mkx, the interviewer asked him about if they were going to do shallin monks 2 and said that they will be doing in the future.He said that the only thing keeping them for doing it is there progress with mk9 and they did not wanted to interrupt that with an bet em up.He said it is diffidently on there to do list.Also did you know that they we're going and even began working on an mksm sequel but it was caned because of time and budget back then. It was going to be called Mortal Kombat fire and ice starring scorpion and subzero working together as the main characters . They began development right after shallon monks and was planed to be on ps3 and xbox 360.Their are even concept art on it. You can look it up aswell. That was not the only game canceled,a game called Mortal Kombat 8 was also in the works and was supposed to be a remake of mk1 alone but they dropped it as well when WB took over the company.The was going to be a Gears of War inspired design theme with a dark and gritty feel. There also concept art for that. Another project that they we're all most finished with was a HD remake of the original first 3 mk games. They we're redoing all of the stages,fatillties, and even we're using new digitized actors.There are a lot of concept art on it as well. This along with mk8 was caned after WB got rights to the company and just decided to reboot the series as a whole. Hopefully we get an mksm 2 soon
