Using covid as an excuse is sad and bullshit. They couldn't figure it out while Tekken and SF had massive updates and did tons of work on these new titles.
Those games are made in Japan with Japanese work culture vastly different than American work culture. Also when wb was going through an audit any and all production of titles had to stop until the audit was over. It’s how audits work.
I barely play mk1 and that's unlike me. I'm still tripping over the fact they actually charge money for fatalities...WB killed the Mortal Kombat franchise.

mk1's regular fighting in offline vs and classic towers i think is genuinely fun and probably the best it has been in nrs era imo. literally everything outside of the offline modes is just unbelievably bad though and it's really upsetting to me bc this game has my favorite roster in an mk game outside of armageddon and the assist gameplay is really really fun to me
You can kind of tell the game was rushed just by the story alone. The start of it had really solid writing and character development, some of the best writing NRS has ever had, and then they ruined it all by bringing in multiverse bs because they clearly ran out of ideas on how to wrap the story up since they didn't have enough time to develop have a Blaze or Onaga bossfight. I still feel like the story has some potential with the story mode part 2 as long as they keep the story in Liu Kangs timeline and use the multiverse bullshit to explain invasions. I'm just glad I waited and go this game on sale instead of the ridiculous $70 price tag. There's no reason for video games to be that expensive and be so half-baked. I get studio heads don't want to spend too much money on a game without seeing a turn up in profit, hence why most games are rushed nowadays, but NRS and WB are fucking loaded. They can take their sweet time to develop a product their fans will love. Shits ridiculous
Of all the MK1 complaints, this is the most irritating. Tell me what is actually wrong with the multiverse story element? This has been built up since MK9. It ties into the early part of the story as to explain how Shang Tsung gained power despite Liu Kang's and Geras' monitoring. This is not an issue.

It's annoying that villains from other timelines are going to be interfering with Liu Kang's, making all of the villains in Liu Kangs barely a threat in comparison which sucks because Liu Kangs timeline would be just fine on its own.

The interference from another universe is the reason why we even have villains. Without that, the whole story would have just been Raiden pwning everyone.

The multiverse stuff just allows for a lazy explanations for any character to be a villain because all you have to say is "tHeY aRe A tItAn FrOm aNoThEr TiMeLiNe!" Also there wasn't shit that hinted at multiverse theory in mk9. The only thing that hinted at it was Raiden messaging his past self to change events, with visions of what happened in the timeline where Armageddon happened. Absolutely 0 hints towards other timelines, everything was mostly self contained within 1 timeline until mk11 and the writing in the storymodes in all of those games were dogshit, you throw in multiverse theory and nothing would any fucking sense. And that's what scares me is mk1 and future mks to come are gonna be dogshit and convoluted like NRS's prior games. Mk1s story is super solid and has great potential. The best parts of the story were when it was self contained in Liu's timeline.
Another thing I noticed that showed me they just lifted injustice 3 designs is Tanya’s moveset uses a lot of the same type of animations Wonder Woman would use in the previous injustice games and me and a friend noticed this shit day 1 which I think shows how obviously NRS/WB just don’t give a fuck
Tekken characters is like an iPhone it's copied and pasted characters they just update the graphics mortal Kombat changes the characters and you have to be a die hard nerd to notice the 1 frame Same animation like how did that piss you off street fighter Ryu has the same animation and Tekken does but mk has 1 frame of the same animation what if they don't feel like animating a brand new animation because they still have to do other people like sub zero and scorpion so they can't take a shortcut but this guy is pissed like what😂
You nailed it with the foundational issues. The game is too redundant. Kameos were supposed to mix things up but it ended up being just a handful of them that everyone uses with no variations with much of anyone else. It's just... boring. The problem is, what's the solution? NRS and WB will always meet their profit bottom line despite the complaints because there will always be just enough fans to line their pockets. Tbh I don't think they care how well they do against other fighting games since they'll still be filthy rich regardless. It's a vicious cycle and I see this trend continuing.
The online and the content from sf6 are wonderful and i cant wait to play T8. Mk2 from super nintendo was my first mk game and as a long time for being a mk fan, all i can say is that mk is done and becoming marvel kombat since injustice came. Midway rules💯
I stopped playing the game because I found the progression to be the worst progression in the franchise Mk1 gameplay is better than mk11, but mk11’s progression had me playing more than mk1 in general I’ve only played one tekken which was tekken tag 2 but I’m finna play tekken 8 because the customization is looking better than mk1 and sf6

i completely agree . it's my fault , i was not vigilant enough , and just expect the usual krypt BS (even if i don't love it) . But the moment i tried that awful board game , i had to check the unlockable content (such as skins etc) to check if it was worth the pain . Then i saw how bare-bone that crap was and closed the game . The very next day i saw a patch/hotfix about Player 1 and player2 combo bugs and disparity ... i was done and uninstalled . Everything i've heard since , reinforced that decision

The issue is, many, if not all, "pro" players have the idea of playing MK1 as a job and earn enough money from it to not get a normal job. That entitlement wasnt that common 10+ years ago. It seems like the idea of getting a regular job for your livelihood and playing a game as a HOBBY is somehow not accepted anymore?! Therfore, many try to focus on streaming/youtube stuff to make money. Back in the day, people played the game because they love it and had passion for it and going to tournys was a byproduct for the competetive itch. Of course the price money should be enough to AT LEAST cover your travel costs, which is very often not the case. You would actually lose money for going to major events if you are not making it to Top3. It feels like many keep playing MK1 out of habbit even though they dont like it actually. Another issue is, MK1 is BORING as F to watch. It is a snooze fest.
Im a casual MK player, and I have to say MK1 was very dissapointing. It has so much potential to be good but WB's greed like most companies, ends up destroying there franchises.
I told people before the game came out that Invasion was going to be trash. I honestly think NRS needs to separate from WB because they are ruining their reputation. This is coming from a big MK fan. MK1 shouldn't have ps2 type of glitches and this much lack of features.
Already uninstalled, the woke stuff, the ugly cameo system, the horrible women character design, the lack of game modes, the boring invasions mode, the horrible character customization and the dissapointing story killed the game.
I totally agree!!! MK11 is far better than MK1!! MK1 is sooo plain & boring! I spent £95 on the game (like most people) thinking it was going to be an absolute smasher!!! But massive let down!!! MK11 is my all time favourite MK game!!
MK has gotten bad because of publisher interference and crunch time. WB had NRS drop an unfinished and empty game that essentially robbed for their money. It makes you think, was WB behind this invasions idea instead of having the krypt and customization and stuff you can unlock. I know NRS is trying their best to fix these issues and bring the features that players need to them. I just blame the toxicity of WB under Zaslov.
I don't know why anyone is surprised at WB's idiocy. Look at how they're treating -HBO- Max, or how they're throwing unreleased movies into the trash as tax write-offs. There are so many more examples like this. All they see is Intellectual Property, and how best to milk it for maximum financial return.
MK11s design was suppose to be neutral based game. A product that will stray away from what MKX represented - a fast paced 50/50 game. They achieved it at the core level but in the process the mechanics got custrated too hard. The new mechanics they introduced (Crashing Blows) in most cases made no sense. They managed to butcher the breaker system as well. FB was incomplete mechanics as well. unlocking custom variation was a nail to the coffin. From time perspective - the lack of communication make sense. Covid was an excuse but the reason why they terminated the support is because the support policy was set for two years. Fixing the game simply did not make sense. Money wise. The amount of errors and bad decisions related to that product was a wake up call to get back on track and deliver a good game. It took them a long time, and MK1 is the result. MK1 as game stand alone is solid. Now the fact, that we have been sold beta for the price of final product is something they did not intended. The day that WB moron made public by accident, that new MK game is in production, that was the moment they knew they will have to put out the game sooner than expected. If all previous game were this barebone this assumption wouldnt make sense. However thats not the case. This seems like the only logical explanation why we got incomplete product. MK11 did one thing in favor to WB - it produced massive player base which previous products fail to deliver. Going for microtransactions was an obvious step. Those who bought the game purely for the kombat didnt even think for a second to pay a dollar for the extra content - aside from Bill whos obsessed with Sub-Zero and few others who didnt mind but this paid content was targeted to the other players mentioned earlier. assessment of the game upon facts. First fundamental fact is, MK1 is nothing like MK11. It is a mixture between MK9 and MKX. They took some MK11 mechanics and reworked them. The result is as good as it could get. All the bs that existed in MK11 wont work here (multi pokes on block, D2 on block, Fatal Blows with a pushback a retard could get away, meter auto regeneration, million defensive options and so on, and on...). Not to mention the breaker for full stick lol. On top of this, they announced that this game will have longer support policy. All this trouble, all these carefully made changes just so Justin and his little brother Kyle could mash the buttons on Sunday afternoon, or after school? Regardless of what you wanna think about the game - you like it or not, that is subjective. You dont go through all that with casual player base as target. The pachting policy is different - that stand alone says a lot about how they are shaping the product. If you analyze carefully what has been going on, and what the game is unless you are blind, or incapacitated and cant tell the difference between MK1 and MK11 the conclusion will be no different. Currently the netcode requires some serious adjustment. MKX on PC has better netcode, and that game is almost 10 years old. Aside from that: less disturbing things are at play. Nothing crazy they cant fix in six months to a year. I dont know about the tournament funding - for sure WB Brothers politics are a limitation but I have no idea to what extent. I guess only time will tell. The game (considering the fact it was out before it was planned) is solid. Aside from absurd anomaly like Raiden being a character that could be played by blind player and still would get away with a lot of things things are solid. Competitive scene follows easiest and most effective Kameos with TOP 5 characters isnt something groundbreaking. When there is an option for money to be made nobody is going to go for something, that is less effective or currently undeveloped but it dosent mean versatility is non existent.
Ive neve played MK except for amrmageddon and the arcade machines....but i do throughly enjoy the mk lore...its pretty sad that mk is in this state atm i hipe they will fix things oon
The latest games has made me question whether or not Mortal Kombat was even good in the first place. And that is the worst feeling you want to give to a now former longtime fan of Mortal Kombat. Thankfully Tekken and the others are still going strong. Even if they have their downs and such. But nothing like the stuff with NRS.

All I wanted from mortal kombat 1 was a game that wasn't buggy on launch and a way to unlock cosmetics without being online and they couldn't even do that.
NRS is lacking ideas. They do reboot to reboot. MK1 who should be MK12 is a dissapoint. MK 11 was good i can say but better was MKX who new characters introduce. The fans of MK want new deadly characters. I personally hate Liu Kang. Tekken always upgrade its characters and story. SF is the first game who make the graphical improvements, all the others follows. As MK fan im tired of the reboots, Liu kang, Shao Khan and the mentality of 1994. We have 2024. Cameos is the most stupid thing i ever saw in a videogame Ed Boon, NRS and WB must heavily critisized because they became very narcissistic and want to make money by selling junks
MrAquaMan's take isn't saying Pro's have to fix WB's lack of Pro Tour funding. He's talking about how every MK but MKX had almost zero funding for Major's. When MKX came out the community funded Pro Tour with a Blue Steel Sub Zero skin that NRS made all sales go to Pro Tour. He's wanting Pro's to actually invest in labbing matchups, finding tech and developing the Meta. Literally I'm one of the only players finding tech, everyone else just sit on their hands scrolling Twitter to have others find optimals and new dirt. I went into the lab with 7 different characters and found nasty tech every single day. Tremor released and so many called him Trash yet he gives every character a forced reset into forced HTB that does over 70% twice per round. Hes also best with Reiko than Darius, Sindel has inspire that turns the 24 SECONDS of cooldown to 8 seconds for full kameo meter regen. The pros b1tched about Stryker Nades which are universally counterable with D2 doing 12-14% to opponent who threw grenades to steal turn when you try to full combo punish them. You only take 3% from the trade and have massive frame advantage. Do that twice and opponents Stryker grenades are gone for 18 seconds+ I'm so disappointed with the pro scene. They would all rather b1tch about characters or kameos that are very counterable. There is a ton of depth to MK1 if you don't see the multiple layers and counterplay, you aight labbing your options! I love MK1 as a tournament player. The problems i have with the game is lack of modes, features and online Netcode. It will be fixed but aucks to have stuff like DSyncs Im gonna say this, im 35 i was here when MK9 went to EVO and the NRS community has always complained. There was more talented players who stuck with their lower tier characters and found their options and worked with it. MK11 and MK1 players only tier whore the top 3 on new lists and copy paste meta for those characters only. Every single MK I've seen the community claim the game died 2 months, in, they complained from month 3 to year 3 on every single NRS Title. The game is 4 months old, only thing different is Dysyncs and MK1 has lack of modes. That's all fixable on next patch. This is the most balanced MK ever and i say this as a Sub Zero main. Personally i want NRS to make a Pro Tour Skin pack so the community can fund Top 8's at the Major's payouts like they did on MKX and it got over a million.

No one had the balls to delay their games and lose some money in order to actually spend the time they needed for quality like Capcom did delaying MH Wilds for a few years. Yea invasion is a joke. Whoever watched the mk reveal and witnessed the invasion mode gameplay should have seen it coming.
Making MK1 after 11 was a mistake. I havent bought it yet but what Im hearing is not good. I will stick to Street Fighter until January where Im gonna be a tekken guy for the next years to come.
When it komes to MK content creators I like Tweeny,TrueUnderDawg( kinda he kovers a wide amount of FGs ) Ketchup and mustard, 4thsnake and Brusk. Yeah mk1 it feels just overall underwhelming due to Lack of communication. Sure SF6 has crap monitization but the overall game is phenomenal and i still play it because of that. Tekken 7 i will still play even after Tekken 8 comes out. But BOY TEKKEN8 IS 🔥

The last MK game I played and thought was fun was trilogy on PS1 lol. Capcom actually did something very similar with SF. SF4 revitalized the entire FGC and then for some ridiculous reason they did a complete 180 with SF5 which was basically hated by most decent players and now SF6 to a lesser degree. Every good player I know hates SF6 but casuals love it. Like you said, they don't care about the serious/competitive players. It's the casuals who bring in the money. Sad but 100% true.
Why sad? My first game was Tekken 1 and until late entries you couldnt do nearly endless air combos. I coulndt give less about the pro scene,just give me a good story,and all the characters
I thought mk 11 was a great game. I liked a lot of the mechanics they added and it felt very balanced. Also the customization was unmatched and you weren't required to grind very hard or pay for it. I thought the story was decent. The dlc characters were sick. I've been waiting so long to play spawn in MK. Curious why people didn't like it. This game however is complete dog shite. I bought it for half off which was still like $50 bucks and wish I didn't and that I got a refund before it was too late. I'm not interested in any of the dlc characters except Ermac so far. I don't even know who they are tbh. They both just seem like rip offs of superman. Which after hearing what you said makes sense. Likely they were meant to be superman. Kameo's just ruin this game. They already had them back in mk x and mk 11. Just in offline only. All they did was spice them up a bit. I feel like I got robbed. Like I went to NRS and they gave me a bootleg Mortal Kombat game made by 4 dudes in a garage somewhere.
Omni Man is from Invincible which streams on Amazon, I believe. Homelander is from The Boyz which also streams on Amazon. They both would have been good guest characters for Injustice because they fit the evil Superman archetype, but they just don't fit in Mortal Kombat entirely. There were definitely better picks for guests out there.

I thought Ranton had a very good review for MK1. I found myself playing MK1 to earn cosmetics and that's it, I play tekken because I like playing it personally.
I can’t necessarily agree mortal Kombat is boring. I believe the main issue is the faces of the competitive scene, people like lowtiergod,6arakin, sonic fox and others piss and moan about losing to the point us in the actual community are put in that same box

Hint's why their game is always first to die out of the big 3. Everyone should've known that the game was gonna be rushed. Suicide Squad kill the Justice League was suppose to come out before MK1 they pushed that back and released MK1. That should've raised a 🚩. That game wasn't gonna come out until March or April 2024. Another proof was the Kombat Cast live streams they kept saying a *WORKING PROGRESS* That means the game wasn't done. 👀 Another thing WB doesn't want to give out that amount of money just to constantly see Sonic Fox win it's ridiculous everyone chokes when it comes to tournaments against this dude.
Great video! As a casual, (hate it for the competitive scene) I kinda like the move they made. They will be hardcore players every now and then, but most games played in the future would be sort of equal instead of one sided, due to a no longer high competitive scene. Sure it may shorten the lifespan of the game, but it takes a game of great worthyness for a casual to keep playing years after its prime. It may not last the test of time, but it's fun for a casual while it's here.
I think the game was made like Cyber Punk for extreme new consoles, and MK1 wanted to get the money for the lower end powered consoles (Switch) community, but they failed to put any work to optimize it. Money grab. If Tekken 8 did that with the switch, I bet the same thing would happen kinda, but there's hardly any modes in MK1 so ehh...

I uninstalled mk1 from my hard drive last night. In fighting games it seems the more casual the audience the more toxic it is, and mortal kombats player base is the biggest and the most caaual and it seems to always be all out war between the pro and casual audiences. I actually like mk1 but the kameo system kills it for me, warner brothers Definitely have NRS by the short and curleys though, people Dont talk enough about how garbage WB is as a publisher
Yeah was disappointed that we didn't get a conquest mode. Characters don't have enough variety in their move set either. Bare bones describes this game well.

@@amitypredator9385That was my main issue with MK11 & unfortunately it wasn’t fixed in MK1. Some characters like Geras & Joker had buttons and Krushing Blows for every situation while other characters had nothing.
Listen man if we get a Shaolin Monks 2 with Scorpion and Sub-Zero as the main characters I'd be all over it. I played MK1 for two months straight, currently taking a break though. Maybe I'll pick it up again when Ermac drops because I do want to try him
Why would Scorpion and Sub-zero be the main characters? The previous followed Lui Kang and Kung Lao because they were Shaolin Monks. Scorpion and Sub zero are Lin Kuei ninjas, it should be called a different name.

MK is easily my favorite franchise, but these last two MK games have absolutely taken my appreciation for the franchise down a notch. I do like quite a bit of things about MK1, and I do think it’s better MK11 when it comes to roster and gameplay, but it’s just not comparable to MK9 or MKX

Seeing nrs in this current state just made me realised that I feel a bit dissapointed to not only the creators, but also how the community treats NRS. Hence why street fighter 6 won the 2023 fighting game awards over mk1
It definitely seems like MK1 was supposed to be Injustice 3! Art design, dialogue, kameos,etc… Now whether this is the fault of NRS is debatable. Seems likely to be a WB directive based exclusively on projections and $. That said, I have no insider knowledge, or even a thorough understanding of their business structure. I’ve only been playing MK1 for a few weeks. It’s a very pretty and very shallow game. Granted, that could describe every MK game.
I preordered mk1 and since they announced until they released it I was constantly saying to my friends "this is it, this is the mk game I'm going to get good at from the start and play a lot of online", because I always kinda knew how to play but never played a lot of online because of anxiety issues (yeah) and this was supposed to be my step forward, and after it came out I played story mode and LOVED IT, then went and learned a couple of characters and went to invasions to unlock skins or whatever and I got so fucking bored I can't even explain it, started realizing the game was extremely rushed and incomplete. Invasions managed to put me to sleep SO HARD, it's incredible, I hated it with my entire soul and then I got burnt fast and never played the game again, I'm NEVER preordering a game again, I had 100% confidence on NRS but after this, it's going to be a hard and slow path upwards for the game if they even care to fix it and make it better. It didn't help either the fact that the PC port is absolute dogshit, 30 fps invasions and cinematics in 2023 is fucking inconceivable, lots of bugs and, yeah, game is shit, basically.

Pretty much agree that, as much as we want to see a thriving MK community, we still need a game that doesn't suck. Even without taking gameplay into consideration, it is still incomplete and barebones. And this coming off of NRS dropping support over MK11, putting the game in a bad state, and leaving us hanging for a couple of years before we get our next game. Did the Capcom side ever felt this low when they released SFxT, SF5, and MVCI during that time?
SFV was disgraced until Arcade Edition came out like 2 years after launch. I happily played tf out of it V/MVCI through the controversy tho, wish I could say the same for MK1
@@jaybonny1954 SFV's final season in particular was truly the moment Capcom really turned things around. That was the most excitement I have ever seen due not just to the significant changes made to SFV, but also the improved level of communication from the staff. I know that was when I was looking forward to SF6.
hardcore competitive players are probably 0.2% of the player base. kinda sad but most devs won't invest in that. we got lucky with SF6 and T8 and whatever anime game decides to put money in their pots
Ppl keep saying the game play is the best it’s ever been? What’s so good about unsafe special into kameo to make it safe, which is the current meta right now. Not to mention the lack of defensive options

I am a Tekken content creator. During Black Friday I asked my Tekken group which game to buy, MK1 or Sf6, as a secondary FG. Majority said MK1 stating it's combo system to be similar to tekken and that it's a great game. Now I have played previous MKs and SFs and I went with SF6 because I Love Cammy/Akuma, I find MK animation to be "Weirdly Mechanical" AND SF6 was 20AUD cheaper. I am so glad I chose SF6 because net code is great, Feature Rich and I spent 100 out of my total 150 hours grinding World Tour cuz it was basicaly a Yakuza game within SF6. Now half of the MK1 suggesters have deleted Mk1 and they are playing Sf6. One of them is even a Platinum now lol. Mk just gets shittier everyday competitively. Watching your video made me feel even better about my choice. Cheers

Stupid skins, paid dumb fatalities, don't effect the game, the gameplay or gonna help with anyones skill lol Game is fun as hell. I hit God rank in all 3 seasons so far. I have a blast! And fight nights with my buddy. It's a great long term competitive side game, while I play the big AAA single player story games. It's a great time killer and filler. I love MK. Way too many crybabies out there. Like Dynasty won't play online because it might desync once in a blue moon? lol Gimme a break. It happens to me, has no effect and I just go to the next fight and keep ranking up and having fun lol Game will get fixed and constantly updated with new stuff. Too many whiners man. Jeez. I get it. We ALL know about the issues.

I don’t know one fighting game that takes its self serious that has a bs gimmick of a ‘Lao hat to overhead’ blocking that in a fast paced game where you only have 1 frame to not get blown up is disgusting. I’ll deal with akuma, Luke and Ken but nothing is as frustrating as mk1’s gimmicks
It's not 1 Frame? The HTB's in MK1 are 4 frames apart and easily Fuzzy Guardable because MK1 has HTB protection. If you do HTBs with 1-3 frames apart it will autoblock the second hit by making the second hit(overhead or low) act as a MID

As a guitar player. a musician and a person that aspires to improvise well using the instrument, when I see these people saying "I want to express myself in the game", "I want more freedom with my character", like...WTF are you talking about? Depending on where you go with this thought, you just ruin the competitive enviroment where no restrictions are applied and ramdomness comes to play a big part on it. In every sport restrictions are applied and rules are settled, but when it comes to these crazy fighting games like MK, people want to play Mario party while competing....like....good luck to you man. Sonic Fox and Ninjakilla with their 150 IQ will obliterate everybody, and then the rest of us mortals will be hostages to peolpe pressing shit on neutral everytime, because this is just how it works in MK.

All the game is: Plus frames, chip damage, and vortexes. It's been like that for 4 months. You're constantly robbed of your turn whether they're calling in kameos to keep them plus/safe or using thr kameos to punish you for punishing them. You're constantly put in situations where you're damned if you do and more damned if you don't without a way out. You're constantly losing a fifth of your health on chip damage that is unavoidable for blocking properly. You're constantly blocking so many strings/set-ups and not getting jack-squat in return. The kameos ruined the game. The gap between top and bottom characters/teams is so huge, it's almost a guaranteed loss which forces players to abuse the meta or be miserable. They nerf one thing for a reason and allow other things to exist for the same reason they nerfed the one thing. 4 months later and the game desynchs more than ever. Input commands are not consistent. I've lost too many fights due to trying to fatal blow only to do a stupid ahh stance change even though my kameo was unused and untounched. It's taking way too long for them to give us anything we asked for. But they always have store items put out on time.
@@flraijinAgreed. Outside of lag it’s all numbers with the frame data. If it’s your turn, press buttons. If it’s not, block or microduck. The game is missing alot of features for online though, Invasions is trash and KL is unplayable due to desynchronization.
The command issue has been dormant since MK3D era. The game should've changed it's gameplay to the likes of MVCINFINITE, DBFZ , SFXT, .. the game has .. Numerous gameplay problems that exist in its current format.. balance always carefully checked, but ignoring balance, the core of the gameplay is pathetic.make it worse by adding assists, and not tag. lore , story, and Character roster is amazing, but idk which doofus though assist was the way to go.. plus bad gameplay that plagues players with learning the characters allover again, and worse? Jumbled. The system can use re-organizing, Commands needs more polishing , and switching the gameplay is crucial for MK. I don't agree that MK is a bad company, they actually listen, they are actually the best in the west when it comes to best story driven fighting game and fan feedback. Their gameplay is what needs to be on the level of DBFZ , GG STRIVE etc
NRS is just as much to blame as Warner Bros. If WB forces you to make another MK knowing it will be rushed I would've preferred NRS stand on business, leave the IP and save face with your fans. Positive memories of a beloved IP are better than a newly negative perception of what you once loved. NRS could've easily create a new IP and the fans would've followed. Both WB AND NRS killed the franchise.

Now their reputation is damaged and they've lost the trust of a lot of their player base (at least the players that would keep their games alive for any moderate amount of time). I certainly won't be buying anything else from them unless it's on sale for dirt cheap, maybe.
I have a ps5 and when I look at the star rating on the mk1 hub, ppl really giving mk1 5 stars I'm like wtf??? That's a bullshit lie. I know a shitty MK game when I play one, I've been playing MK faithfully since 1992 .. you can't tell me shit about that game, MK1 is a pure horses ass.
Tekken 8 will blow MK1 and SF6 away. Tekken has always been a better fighting game than the others. MK1 looks great and SF6 just has a shit roster in my opinion. MK1 should've just been 1v1 none of this assist bullshit.
when the game came out, i was criticizing MK1 for its lazy story, bad lore, awful char designs, bad customizations, lacking game modes etc, MK1 fans were attacking me telling me touch grass bla bla. oh dear, what happened now? hahaha :D
For people who pre-ordered or just bought the deluxe version you would get stuck in a "finding a match" screen for as long as you let it go for and find not one match there's a reddit for it too
i'm a casual player and i'm about to uninstall the game, the fighting is fun but when i start noticing everything wrong with it i just get so frustated, meh story, horrible customization system, cash grabing store, it's just so infuriating, not to mention the constant crashing...just disappointing

I think the best way is to bring back variations like MKX. The current state is too redundant: figure out whether the opponent is blocking low/mid/high, catch them, and repeat the same combo. NRS and WB also need to make each fighter equal. There's too much discrepancy between S-tier and low-tier so there's more reliance on the fighter's base versus gameplay. Also, stop charging for each fatality!

No Hotaru but we get Havik. It's like adding Joker but not Batman. Same old earth realm and Outworld bs. We have yet to visit order Realm and Chaos Realm again. Darrius doesn't even get any lines. Nitara ruined by Megan Fox. We wanted Onaga but instead we get Shang Tsung for a billion times. Hsu Hao getting disrespected in a intro in mk11 because everyone hates him but he can actually be improved on. Look at Tremor for example. If they can make Tremor good they can for sure make Hsu Hao good. Kombat pack 1 features no 3D era characters except Quan Chi but that's only because he wasn't finished on time so we're paying for their fuck ups. Leaked future DLC has no 3D era characters but we get bum ass Conan the barbarian and Cassie and jade and characters we've seen so many times. Where's Drahmin? Where's Hotaru? Where's Kai? Shujinko getting disrespected in Cassie's ending in MkX. There's more but I think this is long enough.
@@seido1160 Don't forget that Sareena (she is a 3D era character) got a lot of requests by the fans and NRS put her as a Kameo Fighter instead of being playable and people are disappointed. Kai, Hotaru, Taven, Kira and others haven't been playable in over 17 years.
It was rushed out and should not have been, mostly pressure from WB publisher. It's a pity because the core game itself is good but it needs help all over, due to balance, lack of content and bugs, especially online D-syncs. The MK community doesn't help either, worst toxic community since MK9 (first competitive online title) released, as they don't support each other or their games.
