Thanks for watching the video, I also liked how the solo turned out! I’ve used some chord changes to have some contrast with the static (harmonically speaking) nature of the track. Glad you enjoyed!
I mean, you just can't go wrong with a classic lol. Nice idea reinforcing the guitar parts with strings too. I've been fighting myself about doing a djenty deathmetal version of this song for a long time... Maybe I'll have to get on that.
Thanks! Hardest part was actually forcing myself to record the vocal parts, but it was alright to step out of the comfort zone. If you've been thinking about a version for the song you should totally go for it!
This is such a cool blend of synth and, like, real instruments! I really want to say how much I love the lighting though, it's so mesmerising, peaceful yet tense, basically just really really pretty. Thank you for sharing another great cover! :D
Thanks, glad you liked it! This track was very synth-heavy so I wanted to cover it once I got a better understanding of synthesis. Been delving into that since last year!
In my opinion, you actually improved on the original by taking the annoying elements out of it, for example by just saying "Mortal Kombat" instead of over the top screaming it, and keeping the music a bit more restrained. The combination of synths and guitar is also a very nice take. Epic!
If I’m not mistaken the MK scream in the original track was actually sampled from a commercial. I agree it sounds a bit annoying (especially at the end of the song, when the music gets quieter), but I guess it also provide that cheeky 90s flavor to the track. Trying to mimick it made no sense to me as it’s not my style. Glad you liked the cover!
