For all its faults the game does have ONE good thing: a reasonable explanation on how some weaklings can win a fight vs a vastly superior opponent. Is it perfect? No, far from it. Is it better than the arcana? Yes. Is the next MK finally going to give us something better? Unlikely

It's just that the MK and DC characters clashing is a whole misunderstanding the characters do even try to talk things out or cooperate and join forces even all the way until the end each universes think one is working for Shao Kahn and Darkseid.
Most frustrating thing about this game’s plot: The fact they just fight because…. they believe the other side of being invaders. Never even try to have an actual conversation. I refuse to believe Raiden, Liu Kang, Sonya, Jax, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman (just to name a few) wouldn’t try to talk it out instead of just saying “FIGHT.”
Honestly replacing "Kombat Rage" with "Cringe" makes the story much better. The fighters don't have any particular motive, they're just beating each other up because they think the other guy is cringe.
The DC characters really was lowered down in this game and this game is canon to the MK storylines but is a scrapped timeline by Kronika but Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern etc really took L's in this game.

It's canon the writer of MK11 confirmed the events of this game indeed happen in one of Kronika timelines she scrapped and in MK11 when Raiden and Liu Kang was fighting in all the different timelines it showed Raiden and Liu Kang fighting from this game.
Honestly in my head cannon, Lex Luther Sided with Darkside to protect the earth from a threat that they can’t handle well also using this as an opportunity to gain control over the remaining government powers and using this to get rid of Superman but in the actual game Lex was just suffering from cringe poisoning and has no idea why he sided with Darkside.🤔🐱

I really liked this game as a Kid. Being able to Play as the DC Characters in a fighting game before injustice, all I cared about was the Cool shit that was happening, and I especially enjoyed Sonya’s, Wonder Woman’s, and Catwoman’s Designs.
I find it funny these people keep getting furious and almost killing each other just over a little cringe. Imagine all them spending an afternoon watching TikTok fucbois
The only bad about this game is that, why is Superman being weak by any characters attacking him? I thought Superman was made out of steel which is he never gets hurt and his only weakness is kryptonite.
Also Magic. But that should mean only Raiden and Shang Tsung should be able to damage him. Maaaaaaybe Liu Kang, Scorpion and Sub Zero too depending on whether their abilities count as magical.
