@@theInsighteryti haven't played MK10, but i think it may be beacuse he lost to Cassie. Like, he got all powered up and ended up losing to a tenager, so it's hard to see him as a threat

I think Shinnok just might be my new favorite character. For a fallen Elder God, he's so badass and chill about what he does. Plus Troy Baker rocks voicing Shinnok as well. The fact that he voices Erron Black too is awesome. It's a shame Shinnok died so soon. I would've liked for him to be a continual villain in the games, but oh well :-/
Actually... Shinnok didn't die. Raiden said that Elder Gods, even if they're *fallen* Elder Gods, cannot die (despite there being things worse than death). Sure, in the post-credits scene, Shinnok's head is severed, but you can clearly see, by the head's motions, that Shinnok is still *alive*.
Basically. It's implied that Raiden tortured Shinnok to the closest possible thing to death. And you thought you had a bad relationship with your father

The real Shinnok then fought his clone to claim dominion over all of reality.
He's a God of Death. In various mythologies, entities like him know people's fate. So that's how he knows their name, as after death, they're likely to go to Netherealm. Wish I could explain better.
