Seeing all of her appearances back to back like this really makes you realize what wasted potential this character is. She has such a funny dynamic with Morty. It isn't like the usual thing with girlcrush characters on TV. She really seems to like Morty and just rolls right on with the wacky sci-fi bullshit he is involved with. She also has a bit of wisdom and smarts you wouldn't expect for a character in her position. Jessica is neat.
@@noobturtle4698 any other good characters they've wasted? I mean there's a few underutilized but that's mostly because they don't have a lot of merit to them excluding Jessica
The writers are all 30 year old introvert nerds. You can tell by how they end every wholesome or serious moment with a shitty joke that they would never feel comfortable enough writing a real dynamic relationship.
Aw, she seems sweet. I don't know if anyone else read the way Jessica delivered that line about there being more moments for both of them as her saying they would both have moments with different people, but that's how it sounded to me, and I kind of hope I'm wrong. Always wanted to find out more about this character.
If you ask me, Jessica could've been more definitive about her and Morty by saying that there would more moments for EACH of them. By saying that there would more moments for BOTH of them, it creates in my eyes, enough ambiguity for the show's creators to revisit this particular subplot in the future. There's actually a small chance that this might be sooner than we think as this was possibly hinted at in the S7 promo with Beth and Summer and this suits me down to the ground since Jessica's long overdue for another appearance anyway plus the Morty x Jessica pairing is and always will be my OTP.
@@schifflein9103 Yeah, I saw it. I know it was just a flashback but if you ask me, I think it was more than that. The fact that Jessica was completely normal in it and that we had it in the first place could imply that the events of "Mort Dinner Rick Andre" (S5E1) that caused her change in personality never happened in the present universe or that she was simply mind blown to erase the ordeal from her mind. Either way, I'm looking forward to her next, proper appearance.
@@MotorBug2005finally someone that not only acknowledged that she was around in season 7 but that it's not the same as season 5 because they left that fucking universe 💀 it's kinda annoying how much people forget that
the scene were morty's going to get the wine and he started saying holy shit reminded me exactly of how i felt when my gf flirted with me for the first time
You and me both, but I've always said that it's most likely that these two won't get together properly until either the end of the series or during a potential movie. BTW, I wouldn't worry about Morty's friendzoning in S5E1 since S7E6 appears to IMO, indicate that it either never happened, Jessica was mind blown so she didn't remember doing it or she simply changed her mind after recovering from her ordeal.
I posted this on another video but I think it belongs here just as well: SPOILERS FOR SEASON 7: Well, after over 2 full seasons (totalling 25 episodes) and nearly 2.5 years, Jessica finally made a reappearance in last week's episode and on a date with Morty no less (albeit in a flashback) and boy, I have quite a bit to say! It may have only been a 10 second appearance but that and the whole flashback she appears in actually gives us a good chunk of information. The first thing I want to talk about is the potential timing of the date. One of the most important details in the whole flashback that I want to point out is the fact that Morty no longer has a photo of Jessica taped to his school locker door. This photo was last seen in the post-credit scene in the Season 4 premiere (the death crystal episode) and the date (which may I add clearly looks romantic in nature) takes place after its removal. Couple this with the fact that the animatic for the Season 5 premiere reveals that neither Morty nor Jessica told the other how they felt about them until Morty called her and my conclusion is that the date takes place after the events of the Season 5 premiere. The second and most important thing I want to talk about is Jessica's personality in the flashback. It could not possibly have escaped anyone's attention that her personality in the flashback is completely normal and that she is no longer the mind-broken, self-declared "Time God" that she became. I think that there's only 2 possible ways that Jessica could have been returned to her pre-Narnia personality: the first is that she was mind blown to erase the memories of her ordeal in the time crystal or the second which is that she simply recovered from it all either by herself or with the help of therapy. Either way, despite her apotheotic state, Jessica was right when she said that there would be more moments for both her and Morty. With that, I'm gonna close up and say that until stated otherwise in the show, I'm gonna believe that Morty is no longer friendzoned by Jessica and I am very much looking to their future interactions together, no matter how brief they may be.
@@bryanp5843 Only in Dimension C-131. Everything that happened in the series up to S6E1 still happened in the Parmasan Dimension. edit: Also, ask and you shall receive: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cbFmTDUg0DI.html
I'd like an episode to follow up on time god Jessica. Of course I'd like Morty to finally get his chance with her too, but I've set my expectations for this show, I know they'd entertain me whatever they come up, with canonical or not.
@@theunicornbay4286not necessarily. Its likely that what happened in that reality also happened in the new reality, as rick mentions only one key difference being the fact that Parmesan is pronounced differently. Despite the fact that c137 is obviously the most, or at least second most infamous rick to exist, it seems when he lays low he likes to keep the dimensional status quo aligned with others
I think its likely that she just simply got over it. Morty is mentally hundreds or thousands of years old (potentially more) based on some of the crazy shit he’s experienced with rick, but he’s still pretty much a normal kid.
Man, I wish they were boyfriend and girlfriend imagine if Jessica joins the Smith family for adventures and stuff for the new season that would be something to see
@@basillah7650 not really summers a good character I understand not everybody liked her but I liked her. It’ll be cool if she team up with Jessica probably if they can bring Ethan to be with summer to give her a second chance maybe
I hate the fact that this show makes us like Morty so much, but he can never win. his life is a sum of shit and frustration, and it is funny in the small moments but if you see the show as a total, he is a very sad character. All he wants is a chance to be normal and have happiness of the type other people have all around him, but he is stuck with a demented aggressive and possessive person. Rick is a toxic elder who screws Morty's life and mistreat him, yet somehow makes Morty dependent on him, to the point he goes crawling back over and over.
and the fact that no one mentions the genuine abuse hes gone through, like the mr. jellybean scene or when he accidentally got the love potion thing to spread throughout the town, hes 14 dude he shouldn't have to deal with that 😭😭😭
Why do I feel like Jessica and Morty (At least the more assertive and smarter Morty we have today) could have actually been a great couple. I feel like Jessica had a lot of potential to be one of the main characters and she kinda just got wasted.
They need to do more then just make her a side character cus even if she claims to be a time god she knew her existence is being just there the min she mentions there will be more indicates she saw the other timelines the other realities and possibilities (meaning there were some that show they do get together and r actually happy)
After turning herself inside out, Sumner's language was reversed. The only words that stayed the same, were the ones that were spelled the same both forward, and backwards.
Jessica was such a missed opportunity. They actually bothered to squeeze some interesting personality out of the typical school crush, but they teased for so long with her romance with Morty to never deliver that eventually they were forced to just get rid of her. Would have been interesting to have her work as a character that brings Morty down to earth from time to time instead of the pure nihilism he is now.
I wish Morty could be happy for once and actually find love. He always gets it ruined like with Jacqueline or that one girl he met when he had the time reset remote and jerry tried turning on the tv which reset time to where he never met her.
The way her character arc ended I honestly thought Rick was gonna erase her memory and then she would just forget everything that happened But nope, she’s just traumatized and thinking she’s a time-goddess 😅 I hope they bring her back in Season Seven or something
@@MotorBug2005 that’s the one with the bad person gun? If I remember correctly, buts like 10 seconds and I think that was a flashback I think, I’d have to rewatch it
@@StarlightGlimmerr Yeah, that's the one. It may have only have been a ten second flashback but it is significant as IMO, there's very little chance that the flashback took place before S5E1.
@@StarlightGlimmerr Presently, I can only think of two possibilities: the first being that at some point, she was mind blown to forget about her ordeal in the Narnia Dimension while the second is that she simply recovered either by herself or with the help of therapy. Either way, unless there's absolute concrete proof that the flashback took place before S5E1, I firmly believe that Jessica is now back to normal and for whatever reason, is willing to date Morty again; therefore rendering the whole "friendzoning" scene from S5E1 virtually toothless. Now if we can get some actual information about her as a person, then maybe she'll be seen as an actual character rather than just a prop.
so modern beauty is the fashionazation of eccentricity, or looking very distinct and unique it's not enough being pretty, it's being weirdly pretty in a very particular and ambiguous way
Rick is morty summer is rick and jessica’s girl you ask how rick is the smartest person in the universe because the pilot part’s core’s are made him the smartest person in the world and you ask why his hair is blue because he drink the blue thing.
