Saw the genius at The Matador Club (small joint, up-close) in San Francisco early '75....when a break came i asked him to come and have a drink with us at our table....he cordially accepted....it blew my mind...the seventh son....

Saw him in Cleveland in the 90's. In a small club with about 100 people. I remember going with a friend. But none of my friends remember going with me. I guess maybe Mose made me his friend that night...........

I used to go to lighthouse with my father who was jazz guitar player That was probably 1968. Wow what if we were there the same time? I was probably only about 10 years old. He was trying to teach me to love the music

yeah, this is the guy who's record the DJ 's were playing in 1965 in Hilversum the Netherlands. Between records off The Rolling Stones. Pretty Things, Who and Them.The 5 years older DJ's were influenced , and almost 55 year later I LIKE IT VERY MUCH !!!!!! Thanks to Rob Dokter !!!!

I saw Mose perform live back in the 1970s, at the Bach Dancing & Dynamite Society, an informal concert venue at a private home on the beach. This was somewhere in or near the San Francisco Bay Area (can't recall the specific location). The concerts were held in the livingroom where they had a grand piano. Apparently various famous musicians performed there. Anyway it was a great show; Mose was accompanied by bass & drums, and they all blended well, although Mose would have shined playing solo if he ever chose to do so. I've never forgotten it, and wonder if the Bach Dancing & Dynamite Society still exists... After all, that was almost fifty years ago!!

In 1960`s we had a marvellous musician called Georgie Fame who had many hits,look him up on YT.When i listen to Mose Allison I can hear where George got it from,that almost flat voice and the piano style

Had no idea of the bay area lineage - I heard of him through older friends in the midwest in the 70's - - Here we see the influence of that one song - from the blues breakers/cactus/blue cheer - that one tune probably / hopefully paid some bills

Dakota Soul Actually, it turns out that I DID see him perform in NYC in 2009, with my dad! I was going through a box recently and found a ticket stub (it was at the Iridium)! It all came back to me! My dad is almost the same age (92) as Mose would be had he lived. I had forgotten all about it, but my dad didn’t, ironically (me being 30 years younger and all).
